Navigate to EAC > EAC Options > Tools <tab>
If the CD contains ISRC codes, they will be generated in the CUE sheet and contain a mix of letters and numbers like this: ISRC JPTO00000237

Navigate to EAC > Drive Options > Gap Detection <tab>
This will affect the accuracy that your drive is able to detect the gaps that are between tracks.

And try to use Test & Copy... whenever AccurateRip is not able to confirm one of the tracks (generates Test CRC and Copy CRC in the log file), this is the second verification.

Although a Disc image (works fine in foobar2000/Winamp) is preferred by some, myself included, and can always be split into multiple tracks at any time, use whatever method you're most comfortable with, they are both equally as accurate and will look exactly the same when using a CUE sheet to burn to CD. :)

[b]Edit: if you are the owner of an album that's uploaded here, please confirm that catalog numbers for the album are correct. Most times you can find the catalog number on the album case or usually on the under side of the CD(s) near the inner ring. You can check whether you have an original copy or a bootleg by comparing the catalog number to the one posted on VGMdb (http://vgmdb.net/db/main.php) for that album.

All the music here has multiple composers but I tend to label them as Hitoshi Sakimoto anyway. The music is orchestral in style although a lot of them are synth.

If you heard the shorter promo that was released earlier, you may have noticed that there were a few tracks with female vocals that were sort of jazzy. I am in the middle of CD3 right now of Bayonetta and so far there are not a lot of other Jazzy tracks. Surprisingly there are a good number of orchestral tracks, most either sounding highly religious or highly foreboding. Most interesting are the tracks by Rei Kondoh who has composed some wonderful orchestral tracks for this game. I highly recommend this soundtrack

Archaic Sealed Heat CD 2 track 16 is corrupted and therefore will not be decompressed and do you mind to include a log?

The thing is I don't really need a log file however to future share it it is highly recommended as the people can see who originally logged the files or ripped the CD's. So the credit will still be for the owner of the CD who shared it in the first place, by the way thanks very much.

An update: Disc 2 is 194MB for me. It was supposed to be bigger. I was expecting around 500MB. The track list: http://vgmdb.net/album/4598

Yay123 - First, please edit your post so you are not quoting my entire huge post. Second, Yes everything except for stuff where I thank other uploaders is ripped by me. I am not going to do cue and log files because I tried a few tutorials and couldn't get it working and anyway I'd have to re-rip these ones. I mostly wanted to make this so people can enjoy these wonderful soundtracks in the best sound quality possible and I don't think cue and log files make much difference to that.

I added two wonderful vocal albums, Final Fantasy Pray and Final Fantasy Love Will Grow. These albums have a variety of styles to the music but are overwhelmingly mellow vocals and all have female singer. Please check it out! They are not ripped by me but I got them from a torrent a while ago.

I posted all I have (minus FFXII but I got lazy) and as you can see most are not real orchestra although Valkyria Chronicles is close. I would suggest you check out Lost Odyssey and Blue Dragon though because they have some wonderful moments.

Well this is my first attempt at ripping and uploading Game Music here, so go easy on me ;-). I ripped the Namco Game Music series to FLAC and made a cue file. All the titles are in Japanese and didnt translate to the rips. But I scanned all the booklets so you should be able to figure out what game is what. Again this is my first attempt so I am open to suggestions or if there needs to be any fixes.

All you have to do to make a cue sheet is open up EAC with the disc in the drive, go Action > Detect Gaps; then Action > Create Cue Sheet > Multiple wavs with gaps (noncompliant). Then save it and upload it. It will be a really tiny file. The important part is the gaps between files, not the file names.
The main purpose of the cue is so that when someone burns a CD from the lossless files it has the same gaps between tracks as was present on the original cd. If you have the time, please provide them but note that all my initial rips were made without cues because I did not understand the need to do so and am now too lazy to make one.

Sirusjr already covered the details, but just to throw in my $.02...

If you ripped this under Linux, then you're pretty much out of luck on creating CUE sheets. There are very few utilities that support CUE sheet creation, and even the few that do aren't very robust or easy to use. And believe me, I've tried. Hard. :-) I ended up reverting back to Windows for ripping solely for the CUE sheet support in EAC.

As for the log, well, no. But then again, neither is a CUE sheet, and neither is lossless encoding if you really want to get into what's strictly "necessary".. But it certainly helps. I review and save the logs from my own rips to verify that I got a clean rip. This, of course, would also work for other people's rips.

Some people are just more picky than others regarding their music. For most, lossless encoding is (more than) enough. Personally, I really like to have the CUE sheet as well, and also the log file if it's available.

Glad to hear it Lens! I wouldn't listen to it in one sitting though, unless you are reading a book. I can barely stand to do that myself after playing through the game from start to finish. Still, there is a real upgrade to the sound by listening to it in FLAC. Anyways, each CD is a separate file so you can download one and check it out before grabbing the rest. Make sure you listen to the Angela Aki song (Track 19 on CD4) and then if you like it check out my Angela Aki thread in my sig :3

Why dont you get PSF or NSF ect.?
If you like VGM so much, its a file that is a rip straight from the game and it doesnt require a lot of space. Here's an illustration, FFX the whole game is only 40MB! But the bad part is not in stereo. I think it can be in surround sound im not sure, and the sound is in MIDI. Just click here im not gonna explain just go to the link to get a better idea of what it is.

Yeah but a lot of the soundtracks I buy and thus post are orchestral, thus why this thread exists. Its the individual choice of the members if they want to download lossless versions of midi soundtracks like FFVII and earlier SNES soundtracks.

Oh thats cool, i thought this thread was VGM ost's and i was like why dont they get MIDI files? MIDI is lossless tho, the only thing bad about it is not in stereo. Besides i have some CDs that are orchestral like Zelda and FF7 advent childeren. Its just I like VGM and the sound tracks dont have all the songs and sounds in the game thats why I use MIDI files.

Quagga, I don't see where you get that PSFs aren't in stereo. I assure you they are, and since the people in this thread are likely audiophiles, I must say the PSF for games with sequenced soundtracks (like FF7) makes the most sense. There is no dynamic range compression, as most CDs are processed with to a degree, great or small. Less steps in the chain from the source to your speakers, since they're synthesized and output directly from your computer.

Only two drawbacks: the CDs tend to have been EQ'd and have more treble and bass, and the reverb synthesis is not true to the PlayStation sound, and hence the soundtrack. However, most likely you can apply EQ yourself to your taste, and the reverb really truly sounds better to me than the original. It's cleaner and more pleasing to me.

Still, no problem with uploading the soundtrack discs in FLAC, I'm sure there's any number of reasons some people would prefer them, including portable media players and what not. But it is nice having the entire FF7 take up only 807 KBs on my hard drive and in subjectively better sound quality. Anyway, I wouldn't have chimed in if not for the correction on the stereo thing.

Hi. I have a bit of an odd request: I'm arranging my lossless music collection, and I'm trying to get the best quality scans I can find while I'm at it. I've gone so far as to edit several scans myself, cleaning them in Photoshop to improve the quality. But to do that, I need something to work with, and finding scans can be a pain.

The one I'm trying for right now is Final Fantasy VII Dirge of Cerberus OST. I have very good booklet scans for it, but whoever made those completely failed with the back image: it was scanned through the CD case and was severely out of focus as a result, not to mention the image had all the scratches on the case.

I searched for several hours without luck. Anyone here have scans for that soundtrack? Or any other HQ Final Fantasy soundtrack scans? If anyone cares, I can post some of those scans I've edited. For the actual lossless music, I sincerely recommend this torrent:

Sirusjr already covered the details, but just to throw in my $.02...

If you ripped this under Linux, then you're pretty much out of luck on creating CUE sheets. There are very few utilities that support CUE sheet creation, and even the few that do aren't very robust or easy to use. And believe me, I've tried. Hard. :-) I ended up reverting back to Windows for ripping solely for the CUE sheet support in EAC.

As for the log, well, no. But then again, neither is a CUE sheet, and neither is lossless encoding if you really want to get into what's strictly "necessary".. But it certainly helps. I review and save the logs from my own rips to verify that I got a clean rip. This, of course, would also work for other people's rips.

Some people are just more picky than others regarding their music. For most, lossless encoding is (more than) enough. Personally, I really like to have the CUE sheet as well, and also the log file if it's available.

yea but ripping the CD in Linux would be doing it under the Nautilus File Browser which would render it lossy would i be right?

EAC will work with Linux if you have WINE installed.

I should be clear that it will work in terms of ripping and yes you can set it up 100% proper this way ... I do it and so do many other people.

However you won't ever get it to work in terms of burning ... not under Linux.

But it is possible to do a proper EAC rip under Linux.

As for burning ... you can use an EAC CUE Sheet file with ImgBurn (make sure you have the newest version). The only downside to this is that you cannot adjust the burner offset (only EAC can do that) but really that isn't the end of the world. ImgBurn is another Windows program that will work with Linux if you have WINE installed.

are you quite certain that both EAC and ImgBurn would run Platinum (meaning run flawlessly) on an out-of-the-box WINE installation?
cause i have Linux Mint 7 Gloria, a Derivative of the Jaunty Jackalope of Ubuntu 9.04 and i'm just not certain as to weather or not this is true.

also ileferru can i take CRISIS CORE -Final Fantasy VII- and both Diablo II Soundtracks please if you get some time to FLAC these?

I have Linux Mint (Daryna ... yes I know it's an older version and I need to upgrade).

Anyways ... EAC works perfect for me with WINE installed BUT only when it comes to ripping. It won't work to burn. However ImgBurn works great under WINE and it can burn using the EAC CUE Sheet (non-compliant) file except of course you can't adjust the write off-set but that's pretty miner and doesn't make an audible different anyways so ... not a big deal.

One big disadvantage though is that I can't get the Windows based FLAC front-end to work under WINE so although EAC works fine and will compress into FLAC (no problems there) you will have to install the Linux version of FLAC and decode via the command line. That is if you ever want to burn back to a CD ... otherwise FLAC files work fine for playback in Linux. I like Amarok for my music player in Linux.

As for WINE just install the normal version. Don't install the "WINE DOORS" version. That's a bunch of BS if you ask me.

Well, sorry if I'm not too clear, but my english is not good... If you play it you'll notice that as soon as one track ends the following starts.... The lasts seconds of "Wilderness" lead into "Rogue". In order to keep this flow-medley I ripped the album as a whole thing. I've included the .cue, if you use a tool like Medieval CUE Splitter (http://www.medieval.it/content/view/28/70/) you can divide it in single tracks.

yes they are ARRANGE SOUND TRACKS "AST" versions and they are lossless "FLAC" format..

.. my avast says somekind virus warning all times this forum i upload thouse files after then my avast dont find somekind problems here..

Well, if your looking for Star Fox music, Star Fox Assault featured a fully orchestrated soundtrack. I have some of it in Mp3, but I would also love it in lossless. I believe it was made available in Japan, so the best bet to find it would be Ebay or maybe even Amazon.

Snkhero, could you upload these ASTs, please? I like much more '96 and '97 ASTs, so I would like to ask to upload these two first. And don't you have the '98 AST? My english is not so good, so i didn't understand exactly what'd you say about your Avast - is there some kind of problem with the musics??

I had trouble extracting 6 tracks from Ileferru's FFX rars, though... Tracks 07, 11, 15, 17, 18 and 19 of Disc 4 were problems... Any chance someone could upload just those ones for me?(Part 3 seemed to be the same size as parts 1 and 2, so I don't suspect it should be a problem with the download, but I would've thought someone else might have spoken up after having the same problem if it wasn't, so I dunno...)

I'd like to request Prince of Persia (2008) by Inon Zur and Stuart Chatwood. Been looking everywhere for the cd and no luck, only people who have the Limited Edition of the game have the CD and that's hard to find as well, hence the limited edition part :p

I don't think it exists in lossless. Are you interested in MP3s of the fan made game-rip? The problem with the fan made rip is that the sound quality isn't the best and I haven't seen anything much better. You can find the thread i created for the game rip here

The CD that came with the LE version was in fact NOT a full soundtrack album (made me very mad) and what it does contain is only a few short tracks totaling 10 minutes or so.

Regarding lossless video games soundtracks, Nettwerk sold many FLAC scores that can now only be found lossy via iTunes or other digital stores...

Maybe some people took some of them !
