Really, if you saw any trailer at all, then you know what most of these refer to. And yet, you are forgetting that we are talking about Kojima here. As far I know, it could turn out that Golgo 13 assassinated Revolver Ocelot, and Snake probably kills himself out of shame.

The best Track of cd 2 is Father&son (Mgs ost 4 ist not the best I have not enough favorits) Harry ist the best Composer

I am a little dissapointed with the music in MGS4, sounds completly different compared to the others, rehashed & industrialized. Its really nothing compared to the greatness of MGS2. And especially MGS3 which is the best of the series in my opinion. I will say I do like Old Snake theme though!

Unfortunately, it doesn't. I mean, not the MGS series' theme, only a remix of the theme from MGS3. Shouldn't put you off it though, I'd say it's the best Metal Gear OST, ever, regardless.

Man... this sucks. I loved that theme. But, yeah, the MGS theme and this Russian piece do sound similar. Still, to prove plagiarism you have to show that whomever wrote the MGS piece had knowledge of the Russian piece and the interview seems to indicate that this piece isn't well known.

Additionally, when it comes to protecting intellectual property the owner of the IP being infringed upon has to be proactive. How many MGS games is that theme in? 4 now? Was it in the original two? If Konami was sued I don't think the case would have gone anywhere.

However, Kojima did what he felt he needed to do and I applaud him for that. If he felt he needed to pull the theme so be it.

From the hubbub, I was expecting a note-for-note lift, but that track only has a passing similarity to the Metal Gear Solid Theme. In fact, I'd say the similarity is so oblique that I'm quite surprised Kojima had it removed from the game after hearing the Russian composer's composition. That's a real pity.

Which track is the MGS theme MGS4 style?

The Metal Gear Solid Theme does not appear in this score due to an older, similar piece of music turning up. Apparently, Kojima dropped the theme in order to avoid litigation.

In its place is a variation of the Metal Gear Solid 3 Main Theme. It's called Metal Gear Saga on the new OST. It's a good piece of composition, I've liked it since the previous game featured it, but it's no where near as iconic as the original theme. It's a pity that the original theme happened to sound superficially like an old Russian composition.

videogame OST's aren't a big thing here in the USA, so most people don't got after them. Sort of like movies, most people don't get the OST's, but there is enough of an interest in them to be sold. Doesn't seem to be the same case in the opinions of US record companies. Aside from that, most videogame OST's are from japan because Japan is the biggest concentration of videogame developers and producers, so thus soundtracks would naturally appear there first.
