I've finished ripping the music from the MGS4 Database. I've made it available in three different formats. Everything except the FLAC version has been ID-tagged.

I can't open any of the files. How do these RAR files work? when I download something of, say, GH, the file is in my Transfers page and I can open it with iTunes as an MP3, but I can't do that here...

What am I doing wrong?

You need Winrar (free) to open these files, as they are compressed to save space and time when uploading. Afterwards when you've opened them, you need to extract them.

I'm currently ripping the tracks that weren't in the soundtrack, but i can't remove the voices from the cutscenes.

However, some of them are remixed tracks, so i'll try to remix them myself without having to rip it off with the voices...

Oh, also forgot to mention that i'm also ripping the iPod tunes from the game. They'll be released in a seperate album. I'll also update the section when new songs are available for download.

They'll be released in quite a few parts since it's lossless (except MP3 of course), so i'll release the first part when i'm done (I'm ripping the tracks randomly)

Hey Guys, here's a little update.

I'm a bit delayed, because i'm having some trouble polishing some of the 110 tracks i've been ripping (or remixed/edited), so it'll be delayed till next week. I want to make sure everything is in perfect condition. It's a complete soundtrack with basicly every music you hear in the game, so no wonder why it's been taking so long.

The iPod tracks soundtrack might be released a couple of days later, but for now take this as a grain of salt.

Chances are the audio was lossy-encoded to begin with, no point in giving Flac. Remember: not many PS3 games/related releases actually use lossless audio. You are likely to end wasting bandwidth and Hard Disk space.

Back then I didn't bother downloading useless lossless encodes. At any rate, once again, there's a good chance the lossless encodes TS provided were actually lossy-sourced, so no much point in keeping them.
