Okay here is what is left for round one:

Fire Shrine vs Earth Shrine
Terra vs Gaia
Esto Gaza vs Chocobo's Paradise
Dali vs Conde Petie
Chocobo's Forest vs Desert Palace
Burmecia vs Cleyra
Black Mage Village vs Gargan Roo
Alexandria vs Lindblum

Okay starting off

Fire Shrine vs Earth Shrine

Fire Shrine: Located on the Lost Continent. Zidane sends Amarant and Freya to place the (insert name of the mirror) there.
Encounter Malaris(spelling?)

Earth Shrine: Located on Outer Continent. Zidane and Quina go here together to place (insert name of the mirror) there.
Encounter and fight Lich.

Since you can't do much exploring in these places and not a whole lot is known, this will be a short rumble and will end tomorrow.

Fight!

Well, which?

I think we should have kept the old thread going. Espanha won't be able to edit the first page of this one, if he ever gets back, that is. And personally, if it was my rumble, I'd be pretty annoyed about that.

I suggest we move back over to the old thread and close this one.

I just locked the other one. I thought we had already waited for Espanha. He's been gone for ages now. Still, anyway, fine, I'll go ahead and reopen the other one. It should be open within no more than two to three minutes of this post. Please resume activity in that thread. In fact, go ahead and start posting votes for this current battle -- I'm sure we can all figure it out.

Alexandria vs Lindblum

Dali vs Conde Petie

Dali: Small farming village near South Gate in Alexandra territory. Has/had a black mage factory beneath the mill which cannot be accessed after fight with Black Mage 2. Plot developments here.
Random encounter: Python

Conde Petie: Town/village of dwarves on the Outer Continent. Their password is Lahi-ho. Or is Ralli-ho? Must get married here in order to reach Maden Sari and Iifa Tree. Cannot be accessed after disc 3.

Chocobo's Forest: Located on Mist Continent. Place where you can get Choco and the first place you can play the Hot and Cold minigame. That's really about it.

Desert Palace: The name says it all. Its a palace in the desert. Can only be accesed during story line when Zidane is sent to Oeilvert...Stupid fucking hedgehog-pie and the scales of balance. Burmecia vs Cleyra

Burmecia: Realm of Eternal Rain. Kingdom of mice sacked by Alexandria and Black Mages. Survivors fled to Cleyra. Freya's home. That's all I can think of basically.

Cleyra: Another kingdom of mice with Burmecian ancestry. Left because of Burmecia's love for war. Giant tree surrounded by a sandstorm. Also attacked by Alexandria for the summoning jewel of Odin. Destroyed completely by Odin after being summoned. Antlion resides here.

Black Mage Village vs Gargan Roo

Black Mage Village: A settlement of the mass-produced black mages who became self aware and wanted to live their own life without killing. Don't have actual names, just numbers (e.g. Mr. 288). Genomes are later brought here to adapt to life on Gaia. That's about it.

Gargan Roo: Roots from the Iifa Tree. Also used as ancient method of transportation on Mist Continent using a gargant. Connects Alexander, Treno, and Pinnacle Rocks(?). Not really much else can be said since it can only be visited during story line.

I agree with what MV says about that one being a bad draw. Places that aren't highly as memorable are more than likely going to lose against a place that has a lot to do with the story line/can be visited more than once. I'll try to make the next round less bias of a choice.

Last battle for this round:

Alexandria vs Lindblum

Alexandria: First place visited during the game. One of the four major kingdoms on Mist Continent. All female army led by Beatrix. Also the Knights of PLuto led by Steiner. Ruled by Brahne and later by Garnet/Dagger. Castle protected by Alexander during attack by Bahamut and Kuja.

Lindblum: One of the other four major kingdoms on Mist Continent. Ruled by Regent Cid Fabool IX. Attacked by Alexandria for fourth part of summoning jewel. Largest city in the game. Divided into four parts which can be reached by air cab. Yearley Festival of the Hunt is held here. Divided into four districts. I'll save more information for when(if)it makes it onto the next round.

Mount Gulug vs. Black Mage Village

Mount Gulug:
No mortal has entered those depths ever since the entrance was mysteriously sealed."
Bishop at Esto Gaza
An extinct volcano where an ancient race of mole people lived, but they too are extinct. Gee, I wonder why?

Black Mage Village:
Black Mage No. 288: Hello. Nice to see you again.
Vivi: Um... I wanted to ask you something.
Black Mage No. 288: What is it?
Vivi: I was wondering how many people have ...stopped...moving.
Black Mage No. 288: You're very kind to use our words. But you already
know what it means to live...and to die. You're asking about our friends
who have 'died,' not 'stopped.'
Vivi: Um...
Black Mage No. 288: Seven of our friends stopped functioning recently...
I think our life span is limited... I've suspected this ever since the
first one came to a stop. It varies a little, but most of us stop
moving one year after production.
Vivi: No...
Black Mage No. 288: I haven't told anyone else about this. If I did,
they'd feel the same way I do.
Vivi: What do you feel?
Black Mage No. 288: I don' t know... Fear? I don't want to stop. And
maybe I want to run away from it all. But living in the village with
everyone fills me with joy. The joy of living with them far outweighs
the fear of death. Isn't it the same for you? Traveling with your
friends gives your life meaning.
Vivi: I...
Not a whole lot else I can say about this place that already hasn't been said. Except for the good weapons and armor you can buy/synthesize here on disc 4...

Iifa Tree vs. Desert Palace

Iifa Tree: Planted by Garland long time ago to filter souls to Terra(which are filtered by SoulCage). Referred to as the "Sanctuary" by the dwarves.

Desert Palace:
Kuja: Welcome to my humble abode.
Zidane: Just cut the chase and tell me what the hell you want!
Kuja: My, we're upset, aren't we? Well, this is your errand... I want you
to go somewhere and bring something back for me.
Zidane: So, tell me what it is already, you demon!
Kuja: I'd watch my mouth if I were you. Surely, you haven't forgotten
that I hold your friends' lives in my hands.
Zidane: Grr!
Kuja: I'm going to send you to a place called Oeilvert.
Zidane: Where that?
Kuja: Oeilvert is south of the Seaways Canyon on the Forgotten
Continent. It isn't really my kind of place.
Zidane: What do you mean by that?
Kuja: You see, there's an anti-magic barrier around the place. And I
want to send you because you're too stupid to use magic. Once there, I
want you to retrieve the Gulug Stone for me. What do you say? Isn't it
a simple task? I'll even send you on my luxury cruise ship, so you
won't have to worry about transportation. Perhaps it's too much for
you. I'd better send you with three of your friends just to be safe.
Besides, nobody likes to fight against himself.
Zidane: ???
Kuja: Heheh, nevermind. Speak their names when you've chosen your
partners.
Zidane: I want Freya, Steiner, and Amarant.
Kuja: Fine. I shall summon them. Freya... Steiner... Amarant... Step through
the door. Proceed to the center of the platform.
Kuja: Spare me the emotional reunion scene, please. Now, go stand with
your friends.
Zidane: You'd better keep your promise, Kuja!
Kuja: Of course. You needn't worry one bit... Khehehe... What a bunch of idiots.

Sorry if that's a lot of reading...

Pandemonium vs. Dali

Pandemonium: Garland's strong-hold near Bran-Bal.
Zidane: So...Kuja is just an angel of death who sends souls to the Tree
of Iifa.
Garland: Yes, my angel of death. But only until you came of age.
Zidane: What do you mean!?
Garland: His soul is not eternal... I was going to create you next, after
all.
Zidane: You mean you won't need Kuja's soul once I grow stronger than
him?
Garland: Precisely... Soon, that time will come.
Zidane: ...
Garland: Well...now you should be fully aware of the meaning of your
existence... !?
Zidane: Yeah, I'm aware of all the laughter, all the tears I've shared
with the people I grew up with on Gaia.
Garland: Forget all that. You are destined to live among the stars for
all eternity. You have the power, the position, and the motive to do
it.
Zidane: I wouldn't want that kind of power...if I only had a place to
call home... My brothers in Tantalus, Vivi, Freya, Amarant, Quina,
Steiner, Eiko, and...Dagger... My home is with them in Gaia! If you say I
have a motive, then it's to punish all of you who brought pain to my
friends! I'll destroy Terra! That's reason enough for my birth here as
a Genome!
Garland: Regrettable... I thought your soul would be perfect for a new
angel of death...
Zidane: I AM the new angel of death! Yours!!!
Garland: Don't you know what it means to meet your maker?
Zidane: Shut up! I've heard enough of your crap! I'm taking you out,
right here, right now!
Garland: Foolishness... The body becomes a vessel, which greets a new
soul...
Zidane: (feeling strange) What's happening!?
Garland: He's too good to make into a regular Genome... But I have no
choice.
Dali:

Steiner: I am not here to drink coffee! Tell me when the cargo ship
will arrive, or else the Alexandrian royal family will appropriate this
properly.
Morrid: And then what?
Steiner: I order you to tell me when the cargo ship will arrive! Tell
meeeee!!!
Morrid: You're not a very creative interrogator.
Steiner: I am just trying to do what is right!
Morrid: Who decides right or wrong? You?
Steiner: Anyone can tell right from wrong.
Morrid: Ha ha ha... Still as green as a pickle.
Steiner: When will the cargo ship arrive!?
Morrid: It's already here. They should be loading it now.

Memoria vs. Esto Gaza

Memoria:After the destruction of Terra at the hands of Kuja, it appeared above the Iifa Tree. It is made from the memories of Zidane and his friends. The four Chaos guardians, Maliris, Tiamat, Kraken and Lich fight the party once more here. However, not only is the memories of Zidane's party here, but the very memories of Gaia itself. Throughout all of Memoria, various bits of history in Gaia's past are examined. Including the time when the planet was covered in water, to present events like the incidents in Alexandria. Throughout the Dungeon, Garland's voice can be heard, guiding the Party to their destination. The secret boss Hades can be fought here, who is the Master Synthesist.

Esto Gaza:
Bishop: What do you beggars want? You are in a holy place. Keep the
noise down. Hmph! Just like the other pointy-hats! No manners at all.
Zidane: Hey, mister, what did you just say? Have you seen some guys
that look like my friend here?
Bishop: How dare you address me so! I am the priest of Esto Gaza, the
holy place in which you stand. Mind your tongue, child. Are you in
league with that brazen crew?
Zidane: Tell me where they went! Was there a little girl with them? My
friend's life is in danger! Tell me what you know, now!
Bishop: All life is equal. The living will return to the stars. Through
the Path of Souls of the Shimmering Island.
Zidane: What are you talking about? Didn't the black mages have a girl
with them?
Dagger: ...
Bishop: I just watched them. Besides, they didn't do anything wrong.
Bishop: They barged in, hundreds of them! So, that was the dreaded
black mage army... They headed straight for Mount Gulug without even
looking at me.
Zidane: Mount Gulug?
Bishop: An enormous volcano that went extinct in the days of old.
Legend has it that a race of great moles once lived within the caverns.
But that was very long ago. No mortal has entered those depths ever
since the entrance was mysteriously sealed.
Bishop: They passed through here and went straight to Mount Gulug.
Zidane: And? What about the girl?
Bishop: Oh, yes. One of the black mages carried a little girl, too.
Vivi: That's gotta be Eiko!
Zidane: Well, now we know! We gotta get to Mount Gulug!

Ipsen's Castle vs. Gizamaluke's Grotto

Ipsen's Castle:
"Ipsen and his good friend Colin worked at a tavern in Treno. One day, Ipsen got a letter. The letter was so wet from rain that most of the writing was illegible. The only part he could read said 'Come back home.'. Nowadays, we have airships and stuff, but back then, it was really hard to travel. He didn't know why he had to go back, but he got some time off, gathered his things, and set out on his journey home. He walked a thousand leagues through the Mist. Sometimes he was attacked by vicious monsters, but he made it, because his friend Colin was by his side. And then, after much time on the road... He had to ask Colin something:
"Why did you come with me?"
"Only because I wanted to go with you"
