Is there a policy on linking to .torrent files? I find them to be worlds more efficient and if there was an official torrent of sorts listed here, more people may be inclined to seed it. Just a thought.

These songs represent the music cut from Super Smash Bros. Brawl, based off of the song listing found in smashbros_sound.brsar on the Super Smash Bros. Brawl Game Disc . They may not be the exact versions of the songs that would've been in the game, but they are the most official arrangements available on the Internet, and in the highest quality.

Soon I will be adding the rest of the Brawl soundtrack in the same quality as this release, each song given an appropriate and unique screenshot from the official website.

Being at work, I'm not able to download the pack now, so you'll have to wait.

I know you probably used the Super Mario RPG-music from Mushroom Forest, but you should know that this track is pretty unlikely to would have been included. Or it was and Square said no.

For M&L - I vote for Thwomp Volcano. Has the best music after Gritzy Desert and fits to Brawl, as well as is pretty catchy.
For SF: Command I would need to listen to the music again... give me some time when I'm at home again.

Are these from the disc? If so, could you post the rest of them please?

Many thanks...

Edit: Bowser's Victory sounds a bit dramatic seeming as it's his theme from SMG.

Also, why loop from the Japanesse version to the English version of the Wario Ware Songs?
It's stupid, keep them seperate!

Another thing I forgot to mention, someone has got to get tabs on updating the playlist with the correct track names when the US version of Brawl comes out.

Because the "Super Metroid Theme" is from "Relics of the Chozos" (OCReMix by Vigilante) and the "Bowser's Victory" may just be the "Battle for the Grand Star" intro that just have been cut...

But anyway, thanks ! Because some themes are great '"Ending" is so cool for Brawl!)

@EditorArtist:
I like the selection, though I don't really approve Super Mario RPG-music (Seven Stars and Superstar Saga). =P

Also, for Starfox Command I would use one of those:
"The Skillful Flight of Falco"
"The Loner, Falco Lombardi"
"Panther Caruso, The Lady's Man"

Those are way better. ;)

EditorArtist
02-29-2008, 11:42 PM
I know you probably used the Super Mario RPG-music from Mushroom Forest, but you should know that this track is pretty unlikely to would have been included. Or it was and Square said no.

Due to Sakurai mentioning in an interview that there were some other Nintendo characters he wanted to include that he couldn't because of rights issues, I'm willing to bet that SMRPG material was planned for inclusion but cut. "Mori no kinoko" is most known for the Japanese title of the SMRPG song.

Also, for Starfox Command I would use one of those:
"The Skillful Flight of Falco"
"The Loner, Falco Lombardi"
"Panther Caruso, The Lady's Man"

I really think the MIDI quality on Star Fox Command is way too obtrusive, and "Great Leader, Fox McCloud" seemed to be the least distracting. But I'll go ahead and replace G06 with "The Loner, Falco Lombardi" for the sake of Falco fans and the fact that it was probably more likely to be the song the developers had in mind for that reason.

For M&L - I vote for Thwomp Volcano. Has the best music after Gritzy Desert and fits to Brawl, as well as is pretty catchy.

It is catchy, thanks for the recommendation! I really wanted to include a song from the first Mario & Luigi for completeness sake. But I'll go ahead and replace "A11 Vs Cackletta's True Form" with Thwomp Volcano if nobody has any objections or other recommendations.

Red Arremer
02-29-2008, 11:56 PM
Well, seeing as it has the same "worktitle" as Gritzy Desert, it most likely has to be from M&L: Partners in Time.

For the Command songs - you asked, I answered. ;P Also I thought the same while calling those two Falco-songs.

As going to SMRPG - I just don't like the game (although this one particular song is good... one of the little amount in that soundtrack) and especially I dislike Geno who is actually a Square creation... And not Nintendo-property (and thus no Nintendo character). ;)

No offense EditorArtist, but I think what you are doing is just going to cause a great deal of confusion. Adding in tracks that aren't actually in the game and throwing them together in this "pack" just because you feel they should be in game doesn't make any sense. Since the "missing" track news came out people have been clamoring for these files, and since then remixes of those songs have been floating all over the place. It doesn't matter if you include information saying that "these tracks aren't actually in the game" people aren't going to read that. Taking remixes off of OC Remix and other Nintendo compilation albums isn't doing a service to anyone.

Editing the tracks together, messing with the volume, and adding in your own tweaks is wholly unnecessary. The game rip is fine as is, period.

If you want to add in a bunch of remixes and pretend they are the "missing tracks" or throw in a bunch of music from other games because you think they deserve to be in Brawl, go throw together your own playlist and listen to it. Cluttering up this thread with your little project isn't doing anyone any good.

I'm going to do all that I can to avoid confusion. I'm going to release the cut songs in a separate pack with a readme explaining everything. In this pack I'm going to have the missing songs that at least had specific enough label to know what they are in one folder and another folder with the "placeholders" for the missing Subspace Emissary music. So people would have the option of deleting the complete unknowns if they don't want them.

Please don't be so rude. I'm not making any false claims or pretending anything. A lot of people have expressed their appreciation at other websites and are looking forward to the full release. A lot of people have expressed their appreciation at other websites and are looking forward to the full release.

The 314 track gamerip is complete. It is very likely that when people say they are looking forward to a "full release" they mean that they want the 314 track game rip, plus the so-called missing files from the game disc, that may or may not even exist on the disc at all.

Throwing in a bunch of remixes from sites like OC Remix doesn't make a "full release" it only confuses things. I don't care how many readme files you have, people are going to think that your version includes the missing files from the game disc, which it does not.

Why do you feel the need to clutter up an amazing gamerip with tracks that have nothing to do with Super Smash Bros. Brawl? I thought the point of this new thread was to avoid confusion and organize things. I definitely feel that all you are introducting into this thread is eventual chaos.

It doesn't matter if you state that these aren't the missing tracks, gullable people will still think that they could be from the game disc.

Let's say that these so-called lost tracks, can actually be ripped from the game. By pretending that these remixes are part of the game, you're actually detracting people from trying to extract these tracks from the disc if they do exist.

Just like the old thread, when people were asking "is this track in the game", "is this the full game rip", "what about the 'lost tracks I heard about", etc. This pack your making is just going to clutter up the release and you're going to have a bunch of post from different people saying that they recognize the tracks you added in from other sites and other soundtracks and it's going to ruin the intergity of an excellent gamerip.

Why can't you just be happy with the 314 tracks? Just because that list came out, now you have to go and add in your own remixes. It may not be confusing for you and a handful of others, but on a larger scale it's going to be confusing for a lot of others.

The sound quality on a lot of your files is also way off in comparision to the official tracks released. What are you working from? Do you have the original .brstm files? Are you converting the files straight from those or are you messing with the already compressed .mp3 files? I very much doubt it, because the "in_cube.dll" file has settings to adjust the number of times a file loops and how many seconds the fade-out should last. Also your bitrates are all over the place, which makes me believe you are working off of the .mp3 files.

Your readme files is also a blatent lie, it will not have every song that was cut. By saying that you imply that you have extracted the missing files from the disc, not just thrown a bunch of remixes into a folder and name them things like A12 and C06 to confuse people. Hell, if you're going to take a bunch of remixes and pretend that they are files from the game, at least have the decency to give credit to where you got the remix from and who remixed it.

-

There are a lot of people who would think that some of the "missing tracks" would have been great for Brawl, but they are not in Brawl! What you are doing is the musical equivlant of saying how cool it would be for Geno, Mega Man, Simon Belmont, etc. to be playable characters in the game. It doesn't matter what you think would be cool in the game, or what music should have made it in, it's a moot point now that the game has been released and a full gamerip has been released too. This might have been fine months ago before the game came out, but at this point it is just ridiculous.

EditorArtist

To summarize my perspective: the tracks aren't on the disc, but the titles of the songs are. Lots of people have wanted them, but they were condemned to never getting them. So what I've done is gotten the highest quality arrangements (with preference to official OSTs) possible of those songs, and am making them available for all of the people who want them. Of course there will always be people who aren't interested, but there are others who actually understand my intentions. I'm not trying to step on any toes, I'm trying to be helpful!

I understand your opinion, but I think you are going a little overboard with attacking me. First off, when I say full release, I'm saying full release of what I'm working on. As I said in the first post (I made that post too long!) that link is to something very much incomplete and is for feedback purposes. This includes the fact the composers and arrangers aren't tagged yet, and I'm aware of this.

I don't understand where you are getting the idea that the tracks I did are less quality than the others. I ripped the same brstms that everybody else did from the ISO. Nintendo uses 30 kHz sample rate for their streaming format, which is more than adequate when there are sound effects mixed in. But this sample rate actually sacrifices some of the range of the 44.100 kHz found on OSTs. So I went through much pain to find lossless or near lossless versions of the tracks that had an official OST release. I did a comparison for each song to make sure that Nintendo didn't do an improved mix of that particular track. If they did, I chose the brstm as the source. If they didn't, I chose the superior 44.100 kHz version. Then I converted to MP3, the bitrates aren't constant because I used VBR. I've spent many hours making sure each track is at the highest quality possible, and to have you shrug me off as an amateur is very insulting. I should be working on paying work, but like you, I love Smash Bros a little too much. :)

Phew, another incredibly long post! We could keep taking up pages, or we could agree that we have two differing opinions, leave it at that, and enjoy Brawl!

Phew, another incredibly long post! We could keep taking up pages, or we could agree that we have two differing opinions, leave it at that, and enjoy Brawl!

I can agree to that, but when you release a final version of this "pack" can you please credit where you got each track from, whether it be from another Nintendo compilation CD or another web site such as OC Remix. Actually it would be really helpful if you didn't rename the files with the A12 / C06 / etc. prefixes, because that would help avoid so much confusion.

Take into consideration that the game hasn't even been released state-side. So someone may find a way to extract those tracks from the disc, if it is even possible.

If you are going to edit the already existing tracks in efforts to get a better loop, or whatever, that's fine. Just don't jumble official tracks with remixes from other sources by giving them the same prefixes (A12 / C06 / etc.) as they were listed in the gamerip. Can you do that? Please. =)

Yeah, that was a pretty exceptional video. I find it kind of weird you included so many SSE cutscenes when you made it obvious that you didn't want the story spoiled for you. After all, the character team ups are a kind of a big point in the story, though I won't say more, in case you don't want to know the specifics.

Also, what did you use to make it?

Well I didn't spoil myself, I used the scenes that were provided through the Dojo, and the trailers and the intro.
I didn't really use that many :P

I also used a program called Video Edit Magic(That's the real name)

Ok voice oppinion time.

Fox-At some points he sounds like Luke Skywalker but he's ok.

Meta Knight-Darth Vader, bad ass, nuff said.

Pit-When he says you can't defeat me I swear he sounds EXACTLY like Silver. Not too keen on his voice yet.

Ike-Other then sounding like Anakin when he says prepare yourself he sounds good.

Falco-Ok why does he sound like Raph from TMNT. Don't like his new voice much.

Pkmn Trnr-Ok I want a new pair of ears after hearing that. Is there a reason he has Ashes voice from the Diamond And Pearl series? Whats worse is I'll have to put up with this voice when I play as him ARGHHHHH!!!!!.

Squirtle-Good.

Ivysaur-Too deep and did he say Whyvysaur?

Jigglypuff-Ok.

Sonic-Jason Griffith actually sounds ok minus the You're too slow thing.

Snake-David Hayter Equals WIN!!!!!!!!.

Well there's my oppinions now let's hear some of yours.

Forget music videos... well almost. You need to go find a bunch of Nintendo cos-players and make a commerical for Brawl, in homage to the greatest video game commerical ever, the one for the original Super Smash Bros. (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8e9fK38BCAQ). As awesome as Brawl may be in itself, the commericals don't even compare to the N64 Super Smash Bros. ad.

Soo...IGN reviews Brawl tommrow...I expect a massive explosion..
Speaking of which:

US SSBB IGN.com Review (http://uk.wii.ign.com/articles/856/856580p1.html)

Final Rating:

9.0 Presentation
An impressive lineup of stages and characters, including some from third parties. Amazing soundtrack. Gorgeous cut-scenes. Simple menus. Long front-load and lacking online options.

8.5 Graphics
Looks like an enhanced version of Melee. Improved character models and backgrounds. Everything runs in 480p, 16:9 and at 60 frames. Even so, the graphics definitely lack detail in areas.

10 Sound
One of the best soundtracks ever created. Sound effects, meanwhile, are perfectly punchy and well-suited to the characters and environments.

9.5 Gameplay
Tight control, more balanced character move sets, new final smashes and more. We're not particularly fond of the single-player mode, but multiplayer is so good we just don't care.

10 Lasting Appeal
Destined to be played for years thanks to spectacular offline and online multiplayer modes. One of the great four-player games of all time.

9.5 Incredible OVERALL

Sounds like it's worth getting when it comes out!

Ah... Sorry, I'll fix it now.

Also, I need some help with EditorArtist's songs, to tag them (artists and games).

That was a beta release. Here's the real release with tags and many other updates (this only includes the tracks that are actually referenced on the game disc):

Super Smash Bros. Brawl: The Lost Tracks (http://www.editorartist.com/)
Track Details (http://www.editorartist.com/game_soundtracks/smash_brawl_!_lost_tracks/%7btrack_details%7d.htm)

These songs represent the music cut from Super Smash Bros. Brawl. Most of these are not the versions of the songs that would've been in the game, but they are probably the closest Nintendo fans will ever get.

During this final week before Brawl's release in the US, I will be adding the rest of the Brawl soundtrack in the same quality as this release, each song given an appropriate and unique screenshot from the official website.

MORE DETAILS:

People discovered an archive (smashbros_sound.brsar) on the Super Smash Bros. Brawl Game Disc that listed all of the music with descriptive labels. There were some songs listed that weren't actually on the disc. I spent many hours researching and finding the most official versions of these lost tracks, in the highest quality available. Many of these songs are highly sought by fans, so I feel honored to be able to bring them to you!

The included file "track_details" explains why I chose these particular tracks. It also lists the tweaks I did to unify and enhance the songs in order to bring them to the same level of quality as the music still in the game. This release does not include the missing Subspace Emissary music or Victory Themes, as there is nothing available online that would do an adequate job of representing whatever those songs might've sounded like.

I hope you enjoy the music, and feel free to give me feedback!

SPECIAL THANKS:

X12 Classic Intro

X24 How to Play
Z52 Stage Clear 1 (Melee)

Yes the composers/arrangers/games are included in the tags. I'd recommend replacing the "Brawl WIP" because even the songs that were already there have been further tweaked and refined, and at a higher bitrate.

You should upload the Excel file seperately so people know what they are getting without having to download the whole package.

And more thing, sorry, but can you tell me which ones are originals and which ones are arranged for SSBB ? Thanks.

These were taken from the Brawl cutscenes:
X14 Ending
X24 How to Play

The rest weren't arranged specifically for SSBB. Each track is either:
A) taken from the original game (similar to Delfino Plaza, Gerudo Valley, and Wii Sports)
In the track details (http://www.editorartist.com/game_soundtracks/smash_brawl_!_lost_tracks/%7btrack_details%7d.htm) document, the source is labeled as "ROM" or "Game Disc"
B) taken from an official OST (similar to the Mother 3 arrangements which uses the same source material as Mother 3+ and Mother 3i)
In the track details (http://www.editorartist.com/game_soundtracks/smash_brawl_!_lost_tracks/%7btrack_details%7d.htm) document, the source is labeled as the name of an album.

Just need the Missing SSE and Victory Themes to have the Complete Soundtrack !!

Technically there is no such thing as a Complete Soundtrack since some of the numbers such as B04 aren't even referenced anywhere, so it's impossible to know what was originally planned for all of the tracks. The songs not on the disc will most likely never be released or were never arranged in the first place. Much like Mewtwo and Roy, they were cut out or never fully developed. I did my best to make up for that, but only for the tracks that had enough detail to know what was planned. We have no idea what the missing Subspace Emissary music would've been like, unless some of it is included in the form of MIDI rather than a stream. As for the unique victory themes for each character, I was originally going to approximate that as well, but my efforts would've stuck out too much from the orchestrated victory themes on the disc.

If Chernabogue uploads the package with the normal music and music mixed, then I would make it clear, like "Starfox and EditorArtist's Lost Starfox Track-Package" or something.

I agree with you on that one, why can't people be happy with what we have already.
Instead of ruining it by finding re-arrangments which suit SSBB.

So you got the game, huh?

Edit: No disk read errors or any choppiness? Apparently about 5% of Wiis can't play Brawl. They are raising a big stink over at GameFAQs. I hope my Wii can read the Brawl disk correctly.....

Also, everything will be uploaded NEXT WEEK ! I'm near to finish all the tag, upload,... but I've got A LOT OF WORK ! So, wait just a little and it'll be OK ;) (well, all those *ikeghijegijhelviheij* Americans have Brawl now, so they can wait a week...^^)

I have decided. *nods*

I have decided to screw my personal resolve to save money... I will go to GameStop tomorrow and get my moneh back which I prepaid for getting PAL Brawl, and will buy a Freeloader as well as US Brawl at PlayAsia. I need Brawl. I effing need it so much that I screw the fact that this will be a very close month. SAKURAIIIIII!!!

I'm in Australia, no Brawl for us. :( The people in the U.S are lucky! Still, not long until I get my copy. I bought myself a U.S Wii off Ebay a month ago and ordered a copy of Brawl from play-asia. :) Brawl should be shipped any time now (I've already gotten No More Heroes, as you can see ;) Blood ftw!). In the meantime, I can enjoy some of the awesome music from the game, thanks guys!

Heh... well, I have the way cheaper version with the PAL Freeloader. Instead of 250 buck for a Wii I only have to pay like... 30 or so XD

Yeah, it's a pain when they release a Wii freeloader just after you've finally decided to import a U.S Wii.. :'( Ah well, at least I can install the firmware update that comes on the disc, take that. :p Of course Nintendo could always block the freeloader with a firmware upgrade, but I'm sure you guys are all crossing your fingers that they don't.

Heh... well... it's Nintendo's own fault... if they wouldn't have so much release delay than I wouldn't buy a Freeloader anyhow. But I don't want to wait 3 or 4 months, if not longer. I actually don't even want to wait 2 weeks for shipping. :P
IN YOUR FACE, NINTENDO OF EUROPE. If you don't want us to hack your consoles or use unlocker software, then release our games sooner!

@Rage: Meh. Well, I'll order a WiFi-USB-Connector together with Brawl and Freeloader at Play Asia, so I won't tell until I have everything and set it up. Besides I dunno about the delays in between US and Europe, neither I know if it's possible to play WiFi with the Freeloader (it should, though).

Actually, I've thought of an idea Skunk.

Instead of making changes to the exsiting packs why not have two different soundpacks one Japanesse (which already exists) and one English. Also, some people may fancy having some fun with these anyway by using them in YouTube Poops and other stuff because, we know that some of the characters sound different in Japanesse compared to English.

On the that note, the torrent will be uploaded soon!

I'm just extracting the disc image from a whole bundle of Rar files. If anyone is interested I'll upload the Manual for the game as well seeming as it was included with the disc image.

On the that note, the torrent will be uploaded soon!

Anyway, for those interested I have posted the link to the torrent in my signature. Although, it makes me wonder who the 98% person is? I suppose they got the torrent as soon as it came on-line. Personally, I hope this person doesn't do a hit and run (in this case) and helps seed this torrent as I'm having to stop seeding soon as I'm getting a bit of lag with my internet connection.

snd_player_chara = Character/Fighter (snd_group_chara*)

@Skunk : Yeah, you can do it, I'll see if I'll change the ID3 Tags with the new artists / composers,... because it'll take me some time. Also, for the US torrent, I can't help, sorry... :-\

EDIT : Wow, I've some work, as A LOT of tracks need a new Tag... ^^U Yeepee !

@Skunk

I've unlocked everything in the Sound Test, which brings the total to 258 songs.
I can post the English track names along with the artist who arranged each song if you would like so you could update the main page.

Yes... Yes please do so.

On a sidenote: My download status for the US sound torrent is 73%. When lwares comes on, I'll hopefully get the last 27.

Those are the 256 tracks as they are listed in the Sound Test. If no artist is listed it is because the track is not arranged and the game does not provide one.

The following tracks are not listed in the Sound Test. In addition anything with a prefix of (Z) is not listed as those are the victory themes and those are listed in Sound Effects.

The Animal Crossing tracks that do not appear in the Sound Test do appear in the game when you play on the Smashville stage, Saturdays @8PM.

Thank you very much! I will update the list then asap. ^^

DL Status US sounds: 77%. My torrent client predicts 8-9 hours of waiting time until it's finished... meh. <_<

For the "missing" things...

X06 and X22 are Result Screens - hence they aren't included.
X24 is our beloved "Long Silence"

Y09-Y13 are shortened versions of their main themes, except the Metroid ones which are only the versions without voices. Y17 again is a Result Screen. Y16 are just some ambient sounds, hence they aren't included in the music list.

E07 is an alternate version of Obstacle Course... I dunno why it was pulled out while Area 6's Alt. Vers. is included. Meh.

M09-M18 are the short WarioWare minigame clips... *shrug*

Can't explain the missing K.K.s (N-stuff).

R03 also is only ambience (Electroplankton), and no music.

T05 is Final Destination with a little different start - so of course it's also not included. :3

I guess we all have our work cut out for us.

I decided that I didn't like how each file looped twice, so I used the original .brstm files and now every track just loops once. Now all that is left to do is convert those .wav files to 256kbps AAC files in iTunes, well that and tag everything. Also my track listing mimics that of the Sound Test. Sure it's fewer tracks but it is just about as close as you can get to perfection in my opinion. =)

Just to let you know, I haven't accidently uploaded the Japanesse soundpack, the file names are the same as the japanesse version. Although, some of the sounds are bigger in size.

Check the name call narrations (e.g. Lizardon, Purin, Robot) if you don't believe me.

Then someone hijacked it, because the narration still said "Robot!" and "Purin!" and there was no Vader Knight but only a Meta Knight and of course Pit's "Shobu Da!"

Skunk, I'll have to agree with you on that one as I knew there was something dodgy going on with the person who had the top percentage done before everyone else.

Also, how did this person know I was uploading this in the first place? I know, I did announce it on here and only gave you the link before anyone else.

So, I don't know what happened there and I thought Bearshare and Limewire were bad.

Anyway, I will have to find a suitable hosting site to upload the soundpack.

Edit: Skunk, I'll send you the link via PM.

Yeah, please don't post random pictures like that, especially at that resolution.

As a side note, this soundtrack is worlds more awesome when everything only loops once!
If anyone is interested in a fully-tagged 258 song (as it appears in the in-game Sound Test) version of the soundtrack in 256 kbps AAC, let me know.

(Only songs that have been arranged have an artist listing.)

I don't have the pack yet, as the torrent was broken.

@Topic:
I find it very interesting and kinda amusing that actually NOONE ever downloaded the ATs... Noone wanting to hear Waluigi, Lyn or Isaac? o.o

Well... You know, I've already the SFXs, so I don't want to download them once again, even if they're organized... And as I've some problems with FileFactory... -_-U

Well, it's still interesting, seeing as for example the pokeballs have been downloaded a couple of times, despite being younger than ATs. <.<

Once again for the DUMB:
THERE IS NO POSSIBILITY TO UPLOAD THE WHOLE SOUNDTRACK IN ONE FILE BECAUSE IT WOULD BE TOO BIG!

It is 314 files, of which 2 are empty (000 and X24)

Just to let you guys know, that I have decided to kill the torrent downloads for both of the SSBB Soundpacks.

Anyway, expect the English Voices soon which Skunk will provide for you guys which she will keep you posted about.
