Just to clarify:

I didn't upload this. I found the links on the Total Gamerzone forums (thanks to sentinels1122) and was somehow able to access the links without registering, but others after me couldn't. So I thought I'd do a little service for everyone here and give the links!

Big thanks to Aaron from over there for finding the original tracks, and even HUGER thanks to Sky (also from over there) for reuploading them all with tracknames! What a massive task that must've been! Damn!

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
*EDIT: I eventually plan on uploading all this to another site and offering the links here, but for now I'll give you all the Megaupload links...sorta.
I'm only placing the end part of the links, it's up to you to stick it at the end of the standard Megaupload URL. This way, they won't detect the downloads are coming from here and (hopefully) they won't be deleted.
Oh, and this goes without saying:
Leave a comment when you download to keep the thread alive for others, alright?
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

Oh yeah, just throwing it out there:

I've got just 2 problems with this (nothing huge, but I feel they should be adressed nonetheless):

1. The tracks seem unnecessarily long, often looping twice over, which makes the files bigger for no good reason.

2. The tracks don't list the composers; instead they all have "Super Smash Bros. Brawl OST" as the "Artist", and their respective folders as the "Album".

Besides these 2 things, I've got no qualms with this monster of an OST. But hey, if somebody'd like to amend the 2 discrepancies I have (which I'm sure many of you might have as well), that'd be pretty damn awesome of you, surely!

Before I start the massive "win" of a download, I must ask: are these organized in track order (i.e. A01, A02, etc.)?

Ok so I've got some free time and I want to re-upload these sets to another upload site. What do you all recommend? (Preferrably somewhere with more than a 100 MB upload limit)

Just keep in mind that if I re-upload 'em, it's gonna be more parts, which is a pain when you have to wait for so long in between each part. But hey, at least it'll be off of Megacrapload, right?

Well, a lot of people prefer that. It's...well...longer, and sometimes people just want to know how the track loops (how it gets back to the original melody, etc.) Although official soundtracks are doing this less and less.

Hey, happy to be of service, but like I said in my first post, I didn't upload it. I was merely lucky enough to be able to see the Megaupload links from another site's forum without having registered (Total Gamerzone). The awesome dudes over there, Aaron and Sky, are truly responsible for this gamerip's existence and all tracks having names, respectively.

Still, I wanna do my part by re-uploading it somewhere else for our convenience, since Megacrapload obviously despises us here. So out with the suggestions for good upload sites w/ more than 100 MB limit!

Hmm, well it still just seems like a waste of space for it to loop over twice instead of looping, continuing a bit into the track from the beginning (to know "how it gets back to the original melody, etc.", like you said), then fading out. That's how I prefer 'em, personally.

But hey, it's a minor complaint, really. What I'd really like amended is the other thing I said: tagging all the tracks with their respective composers. That'd be pretty badass of someone to do.

300 MB you say? Hmm, sounds reasonable. What's the consensus? Does anyone have any qualms with File Factory? Any other suggestions? If not, I think I might as well just go with that.

Anything but Megaupload. Somebody polices this board and deletes everything off Megaupload. So you could be indirectly screwing over that other board, too.

Yeah, I figured. That's why I wanna go ahead and re-upload already, to avoid that. I know the whole thing with Megacrapload, but I wanted to help out and give at least some people the OST for a while until I could go ahead and put it somewhere else.

Well, Joe, there's one other thing wrong with this rip...almost all of the track titles are made-up. It'd be different if it were just the tracks we didn't know the official titles for, but it's like the guy didn't even think of referring to the Dojo's list of default pieces (http://www.smashbros.com/en_us/music/music22_list.html) at all.

Sorry, I'm really anal-retentive about this sort of thing.

I understand, but hey, at least they have names at all. Originally, from what I read over at the other site, they were pretty much just all together with no organization whatsoever. Who wants that? Yeesh, not me. So I'm glad the dude over there went ahead and names all 314 tracks for organization's sake.

OK, screw it, I'm using Megashares (http://www.megashares.com/).

So far, I like what I see. 1.5 GB upload limit, no download limits. Sounds great to me. So, I'm gonna archive all three parts into one .RAR archive sized at 1.08 GB, then upload (I figure a single huge download will be more convenient for you all, right?)

Is this cool with you guys? Do you want multiple parts? Or is one archive with everything fine?

Alright, the single archive is currently uploading at Megashares and goddamn is it gonna take forever...all night even. Well, if that's how it's gotta be.

So for now, so as to not incur the wrath of the original uploader and to avoid deletion, I'm gonna take down the Megaupload links for now, since a new Megashares link will be on its way tomorrow.

Yep. This baby's got all 314 tracks. But I have to take down the Megaupload links for now, as I just said. Don't worry, a Megashares link will be available sometime tomorrow, when it's done uploading, ok? Sorry for the inconvenience.

Ok everyone, sorry for the delay (full day's work was tiring to say the least...)

So yeah, Megashares sucks. It only lets you DL in certain intervals of time (for this, it's 250 MB, then after 113 min. the "passport" renews, allowing you to get the rest...what bullshit.) I have a link to Part 1 if anyone's interested, but I don't think you all're gonna like what you see...

Check it: http://d01.megashares.com/?d01=543e9bd

I can't upload this to another site at the moment, since I gotta get the hell outta my house already to get to yet another full day's work, but when I get back at night, I'll have to look into the other uploading sites. For now, try to be patient some more, ok? Alright thanks.

Ah, I was wondering where all those downloads came from.. Saw it was at 400 downloads and was just like =-O .. But ya, I don't mind.. As for the complaints about the track names, I just got em all from Thread 49628 . Oh, and I edited the artists' names and what-not because it looks better on my zune.

Yeah, sorry 'bout not letting you know, I didn't really feel like registering to a whole new forum, k'now? But seriously, thanks so much for reuploading with tracknames, that must've been a hell of a tedious task.

But still, these files can't be on Megacrapload anymore 'cause they're obviously gonna get deleted if the DLng continues from this forum. I wish I could go ahead and hurry to put 'em somewhere else already, but shit man, I'm so damn busy lately!

Well, thanks for taking it in stride Sky, and sorry if I caused you any inconvenience.

Jackomel

You can just put the link in a form that is not clickable, like for example
"hxxp://megaupload.com"
and then people just have to change the xx to tt and paste it in the address bar.
That way everyone who downloads it won't be shown as coming from this forum and they won't delete the file.

Joe Kickass
02-13-2008, 02:03 AM
Hmm, that's not a bad idea right there...seems so obvious. Damn, wonder why I didn't think of that.

Alright then, Sky (or anyone else for that matter), do you have any probs with this? I'll wait a while for a response (got some stuff to do anyways); when I get back, I'll post the last parts of the links and have you all stick it at the end of the standard Megaupload URL. I'm gonna have to scour my browsing history for those.

Man, it's been quite a ride, and to arrive back at the starting point of (technically) offering the Megaupload links again...huh, didn't see that coming.

Ok, be back soon!

Joe Kickass
02-13-2008, 07:41 PM
Hehe, it's cool, I forgot to highlight what I said regarding that in my first post:

I'm only placing the end part of the links, it's up to you to stick it at the end of the standard Megaupload URL. This way, they won't detect the downloads are coming from here and (hopefully) they won't be deleted.

Megaupload doesn't look kindly on downloads originating from our forum, so this is a way to counteract their detecting us.

Great job. IMO, this thread is much more... pleasant than the other SMBB mess of a thread (hey, the song lists are more complete here, so I rest my case).

Little question, are the Melee songs exactly the same as the originals, or are they new versions?

Joe Kickass
02-13-2008, 10:01 PM
Thanks for the praise, man. I wasn't really feelin' how the thread over there was either. I aim to give everything you'd want from the SSBB OST in the first post alone (full tracklist, # of tracks per series represented, etc.)

As far as the Melee tracks being different in Brawl goes, I haven't listened to all of 'em yet, but from what I heard, Battlefield sounds a bit different; aside from that, I can't really discern the changes made to these versions (if any.)

Is it just me? Or do the all the numbers you have listed for the amount of tracks in each category add up to 316? I thought there were only 314 tracks? After downloading everything it seems that I have 316 tracks too now. So do I have two duplicate tracks or something?

Strange...I'll have to look into that. I'm pretty sure there aren't any duplicates, but I'll definitely look through 'em to be sure, when I get a chance.

Still, it shouldn't be that bad if there's a duplicate. Or, maybe, I initially counted up the # of tracks slightly wrong by missing two (hope not.)

Yeah, I don't see 2 blank tracks...maybe I'm missing something here, but I definitely haven't heard any blank ones. *shrugs*

Oh, and Sendspace sounds pretty good actually, but the only thing is it'll be more parts if I put it there (since 2 of the archives are practically 500 MB each), and I don't really want that. I want everyone to be able to get the whole thing in as little as 3 parts, nice and easy.

Thanks for the suggestion nonetheless, cheddarbob.

Ha! Glad to hear it Wolf!

Yeah though, in the second message of this thread, I mention this exact thing as one of my discrepancies with this OST. It's lamentable, really. If I had the time, composer information, and resources, I'd certainly like to properly re-tag 'em all myself, but no dice.

But hey, at least this things' got all the tracks, tracknames, and is good quality, right? That's all I could pay attention to, so the fact that the tagging's no quite right isn't such a big deal to me, but not so unimportant that I wouldn't want to see something done about it.

Just thought I'd mention that there are only 312 tracks there, not 314.

If you total up the columns in your first post, you get 316. This is because you have:

"*Included in folder "Super Smash Bros. Brawl Themes" (4 tracks)"
Which has 4 tracks under it

And then you have:

Super Smash Bros. Brawl Themes (28 tracks)
which only has 24 tracks under it.

So the grand total is 312. However, you have "All 314 tracks!" in your first post, which is why some people are commenting about '2 missing tracks'.

I did a line-by-line check of my files against your list, and I have them all, and they total 312 in number. You might want to correct that first post so people don't get confused.

Well, let's see, when you downloaded the three parts from Megaupload, you took those three files and stuck 'em in iTunes? 'Cause if you did, then it probably won't work at all.

I don't have iTunes, but I'm pretty sure it doesn't read mp3s from inside a folder inside a RAR archive. What you need to do is extract their contents, then you should be able to use 'em like you want. Use WinRAR to do the job.

Thing is though, I dunno if there's a version of WinRAR for Mac...if there isn't, then damn, I'm sorry, wish there was more that I could do for ya. They've gotta be extracted from the RAR archive for you to do anything with them.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
EDIT: Actually, upon searching a bit, I found these:
Command line version of WinRAR 3.71 for Mac
http://www.rarlab.com/rar/rarosx-3.7.1.tar.gz
UnRarX
(From the website):
A Mac OS X Cocoa application that allows you to expand rar archives and restore corrupted or missing archives using par2.
Holy shit, I didn't even realize that...wow. I feel pretty dumb. Sorry 'bout the confusion! I'll amend the mistake right now. Damn, how could I let that slip through my fingers?
Thing is, I have the "*Included in..." part inside of the "Themes" folder (as should all of you). When I was browsing all the contents to put how many tracks there were per section, I totally forgot that I didn't have a separate folder for "*Included in..." and merely put the # of tracks that was in "Themes", accidentally forgetting to account for the extra. Heh...whoops :laugh:
Well, excellent job Lusipurr, thanks for correcting my mistake. Totally flew right over my head! Ha!
OK, screw it, I'm using Megashares (http://www.megashares.com/).
So far, I like what I see. 1.5 GB upload limit, no download limits. Sounds great to me. So, I'm gonna archive all three parts into one .RAR archive sized at 1.08 GB, then upload (I figure a single huge download will be more convenient for you all, right?)
Is this cool with you guys? Do you want multiple parts? Or is one archive with everything fine?
You can do both right?
Joe Kickass
02-19-2008, 04:45 PM
Wow, that was a while back.
Yeah, I decided quite a while ago that I'm not using Megashares, and I explained why in a previous post.
Megashares sucks. Not using it. This is gonna be 3 parts on Megaupload for now, alright? It's not that bad, don't sweat it. Just know that you'll have to wait a while between each part but, with patience, you'll have the SSBB OST in a few hours.
Plus, uploading 1.08 GBs to an upload site takes a ridiculously long time, longer than I'd ever want to keep my laptop on.
Joe Kickass
Well, keep in mind that many of the tracks in SSBB's OST are original arrangements. As such, they have various different composers tied to them, not just those who originally composed them in their respective games/series.
For example, Noriyuki Iwadare is a guest composer from this game, but there's no Grandia music to be found anywhere. His talent's been used to arrange someone else's composition(s), and being that that's the case, as far as this OST goes, he is the composer of whichever tracks(s) he arranged for this game. That's what we all want to find out: which composers arranged which tracks (guests and otherwise).
See what I mean? It's a bit more complicated than just naming the original composers for all the games and series. Though what you've said is helpful, ultimately it's not exactly what we're looking for.
Thanks anyways though Chao! If you find any more info, feel free to post here again, it'd be much obliged!
Sky, thank you, you hit the nail right on the head with that!
Yes, he's exactly right. Like I said before, we need to know more than each composers previous works. What we're looking for is exactly who contributed to each track.
But hey, thanks anyways though, I didn't remember who all the composers were and I pretty much forgot the Dojo had that full list.
Well, to make this BUMP a little more interesting, I'll repost what I posted back on page 3: some good Brawl fights I found on Youtube a while back!
Oh, and for the Megaupload wait time, do you guys know about the premium hour thing?
Odd, part 2 has more downloads than part 1 now.
WitchChao
03-01-2008, 12:41 AM
Well, most of the Sonic stuff wasn't remixed anyway, so go ahead
stick with that. Besides, what was remixed was done by the original artists anyway(cept for maybe His World). Smash Bros Dojo confirmed that Sega and Jun Senoue worked on the Angel Island remix, so everything else in that catagory besides His World should all be the orginal artist(s).
I [i]suspect[\i] Yoko Shimomura did the Luigi's Mansion melody.
I suspect her because of her usually dramatic music featuring instruments like my favorate Pipe Organs^_^(Kingdom Hearts, Parasite Eve and Mario + Luigi should begin to ring bells).
I'm going to assume Uematsu did the Final Destination theme becuase of the present vocals.
hey, i'm new here and i'm really impressed at this...it's just so gay that Megaupload has a time limit in between every download...anyone know how long? I think it's 24 hours, but that's so dumb
Hey, bunch of posters after my 2-day hiatus, nice!
Glad you're all enjoying the stuff, though I understand the qualms, like not having the tracks numbered and having to wait for a long time between downloads. It's okay though satanic, at least you've got this badass OST now, right? And lildigipoke, I know it sucks to wait, but trust me, your patience will be rewarded!
Oh, git5000, so far no one's really had any problems getting these archives and extracting them, so maybe it's a problem on your end that's preventing you from getting them...dunno. Hope it's nothing big so you can get to hearing the tracks already!
Alright everyone, keep it up! Let's keep this thread alive!!
I'll try to post some pics if anyone's interested, though I dunno how good they'll come out on my camera. Still, I'll do my best if people want to see the game (title screen, instruction manual, stating roster, etc.)
Hehe, it's cool, I forgot to highlight what I said regarding that in my first post:
I'm only placing the end part of the links, it's up to you to stick it at the end of the standard Megaupload URL. This way, they won't detect the downloads are coming from here and (hopefully) they won't be deleted.
Megaupload doesn't look kindly on downloads originating from our forum, so this is a way to counteract their detecting us.
Sir, you are a very smart man, and full of win!
03-21-2008, 07:04 PM
Yeah this thread is awesome. But I have a question: Is there anywhere on the net where you can just download single tracks at a time, or do we still need to get them all in big chunks?
I'd be nice just to download a song or two here and there. Makes it easy to download a single song to listen to for the moment, instead of carrying my portable hard drive around which has the whole OST on it.
Just to clarify:
where's the link?
I didn't upload this. I found the links on the Total Gamerzone forums (thanks to sentinels1122) and was somehow able to access the links without registering, but others after me couldn't. So I thought I'd do a little service for everyone here and give the links!
Big thanks to Aaron from over there for finding the original tracks, and even HUGER thanks to Sky (also from over there) for reuploading them all with tracknames! What a massive task that must've been! Damn!
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

*EDIT: I eventually plan on uploading all this to another site and offering the links here, but for now I'll give you all the Megaupload links...sorta.

I'm only placing the end part of the links, it's up to you to stick it at the end of the standard Megaupload URL. This way, they won't detect the downloads are coming from here and (hopefully) they won't be deleted.

Oh, and this goes without saying:

Leave a comment when you download to keep the thread alive for others, alright?

Oh, did you remember to include the "Lost Tracks"? The rip I compiled actually integrates those into it.

THIS THREAD IS THE WIN.

Thanks a bunch for being intelligent enough to only put the end bit of the tracks.

Maybe you should just say to put "www.megaupload.com" in front of the specific code for those people who are complaining.. (instead of "standard Megaupload URL." as you have in your post.)

Thanks again!! Brawl music is FTW!

May I ask what's quality of these? I had a perfect rip @ 320kbps, but they were not named.

I have the offical OST but apparently it's invalid but it works with WMP and I campared a few of the tracks together and no difference

There is neither an official release nor an OST for Brawl. Everything you'll find is rips.

Yeah this thread is awesome. But I have a question: Is there anywhere on the net where you can just download single tracks at a time, or do we still need to get them all in big chunks?

I'd be nice just to download a song or two here and there. Makes it easy to download a single song to listen to for the moment, instead of carrying my portable hard drive around which has the whole OST on it.

Late but I don't care.

Here's the trick to getting MegaUpload to get all 3 at once;
Step I. Open page 1 and enter the security pass. Where it says Download, right-click A. That means "save target as". If done right, DL count doesn't go up :( but that means MU doesn't see it as you downloading it.
Step II. Rinse & repeat while 1 is still downloading.
Step III. Same

Thanks for sharing with us this music, this is by far one of the greatest I've heard just because of the amount of tracks it has from lots of games, now I got a question, did the composers actually worked to do this insane amount of music by the help of orchestras and all that? or are they just remixes or MIDI music? thanks again!

I simply find it amazing that real life instruments and basic sound patterns repeating can turn into something epic and nearly digital like OSTs that people (including myself to a lesser extent) swarm for. Listen to just about any song, and follow one rhythm for the entire length of the song. It is repeating the same few notes for a long time, but you don't truly "hear" the song when you do that.

Links were shut down, until there's a reupload you'll have to use someone else's link to download the soundtrack. Or buy it.
