The music is superb and the sound quality is good, although the high end is a little bit too sharp. Some violin part feels ... noisy and sand-like. Sorry, that's on top of my head. Much appreciate your contribution.

Ok, here's what you should do:

Burn the songs you buy on iTunes onto a CD, then rip the songs from the CD, and you can copy them to any kind of format you want, and it's still with good sound quality. I do it everytime i buy something from iTunes.

I've never heard of E.S. Posthumus before stumbling across this thread. I'm glad I did. The music is quite good! If and when a high quality rip of Cartographer comes up, I'd love to nab it. These are a couple of discs I'll probably get out and purchase physical copies of as soon as I've got the bread.

Mate, that's really really bad quality wise. You're basically burning 128kbps quality songs onto a CD, then ripping the songs from the CD and re-encoding them to a lossy format. The mp3s you end up with a even worse than the originals you burnt. Once you have a lossy format, you can't improve quality.

Edit: Unless you get the lossless Apple format. From there you can directly convert it down to mp3 without having to go through the CD stage.

They may sound excellent to you. Proper analysis of the tracks via Spectral Frequency Display shows that they were clearly taken from a source that was lower than 320kbps to begin with, most likely 128kbps because it matches the Cartographer frequencies more or less.

Please disregard the rabid audiophiles... I'm sure their $8k investment in gold-plated speaker cables won't allow them to listen to anything not encoded by the hand of God himself.

What? You can't tell the difference between 128kbps and anything higher? You don't need to be a hardcore audiophile to figure that out :P Unless your hearing is that bad.

I'm musician and using adobe audition I reduced the hiss of these songs... and I removed that "sand" sound... Now I have the disc 2 completely clear going at 128 kbps... but sometimes the quality is not really good.. like a cd's quality... but I wait for a new upload with better quality (192 or 320)

If you look at it, all the companies and artists that do music for Movie Trailers are like flys on horseshit when it comes down to making sure links are taken down for their music. Posthumus sells their stuff, most of these companies do not, so imo its best for someone to upload these again and then exchange the links by PMs as requested. I am very sure that if you do this the links will stay up much longer.

First of all, thank you Jack the Ripper. I don't think I got to properly thank you for uploading E.S. Posthumus last week. Much appreciated.

Secondly, in the case of uploading the albums, there are two possible options for this dilemma.
A) - A torrent is made that will be able to assist in people downloading the albums, and will save time due to there being no need to constantly upload the album (NOTE: I have no idea how to make one).
B) - Also a very easy option: one that has been tossed around in this thread. I agree with it more than making the torrent. You upload it to some server and hand it to eachother privately in Pm's

Now, the problem with "A", is that some people might not have torrent programs and can't download it. There is also the problem of seeders and leechers. If there is an uneven balance, it will be very difficult for people to download. The probem with "B" is that the person who is constantly reporting the upload might ask for it in a link in a PM and report it. Therefore, time wasted.

Just something you should think about before making a decision...

it takes time for a user to gain access to the pm function though - so i for instance could not be able to recieve any pm at the moment, i guess email is a viable alternative though...

anyway please get it up asap i'm dying to hear it

Can anyone tell me has cdbaby sent about 200kbps VBR encoded albums as "MP3 downloads" to those who ordered Unearthed from their site in that way?
As I saw from a description on a Cartographer torrent, a guy ordered directly from them as MP3s, and got them all hiqh quality VBR encoded, so I was wondering if anyone happens to have the exact quality for Unearthed, that is, has anyone ordered Unearthed from cdbaby as an MP3 download, without ripping it the way he liked from the original cd that he may have bought?
So far after all this time, the closest I got to getting this album in a greatest quality was 320kbps CBR encoded, and that's just not it..

And according to cdbaby, ALL of their MP3 orders are are at a very high quality, about 200kbps VBR encoded. See here:

Instead of asking for reuploads that will go down as soon as they go up, learn how to use torrents. Cartographer is all over the place in FLAC, V0, etc.

This is going to be my last time for this stuff. It is my hope that you are using these to sample and decide what you will eventually buy, I feel that smaller bands/company's should be supported and you can buy most of their stuff over on cdbaby.

Chef, I suggest sharebee or sharonall they both upload to around 5 different places at once, but I think you should always use a password, and name the file something that has nothing to do with the actual name so it won't get taken down as fast.

Welcome to the board goldfit, you need to have been on the board for 2 weeks, and post at least 10 posts to private message. Meanwhile download unstoppable above before it gets taken down. (hint the actual titles are not being used because that makes them easier to search and thus easier to remove, so just think of other words that could mean what you are looking for in this thread and it will come to you) Once you are able to private message, send me a message and I will send the password to unlock the download. i am very dissappointed about those links. The full version of Posthumus Zone must have at least a Rapidshare link, a Filefront link and a Megaupload link permanently. It can't just be deleted in one day. At least give a different filename when uploading to avoid automatic deletion.
