I'm doing that whole thing where you have to go through and light all the candles. I thought I was doing a good job until I got to the very last part (when you climb the magic stairs and light the last candles). Well, when I climb the stairs and walk up to the candles, the esclamation point dosnt appear over my head and I can't light the candle. I have no idea whats going on. Has anyone else had this problem?

Chances are you missed a candleabra somewhere. There are a total of 13 candleabras you need to light. Six will activate the bloodstones.

Unfortunately, the only way you can really check if you've lit them all is to backtrack and count. I've seen that this actually does happen to a few people, so don't feel bad. ;)

Need help with the candelabra? If so, check out PlayOnline for more coverage!

Seriously, I'd go into detail and post the steps myself, but it's getting late and stuff, so refer to this site (http://na.square-enix.com/strategy/FF9/), and you'll be out of Desert Palace in no time.

Wow, I didn't know all of that content was still around on Square-Enix's site. I thought that all got deleted a while back.

It may've been a recent addition to the site. I'm not sure.

It's only fair, seeing as how people paid $12.99/$18.95 plus tax for basically a guide to a guide.

Well, all of it used to be available on PlayOnline, but then it got moved off of there. Then it was moved somewhere else, but I think ended up off of there too.

Anyway, it's good to know that it's still around for those who have that guide and are able to find it. Here'sa post (Thread 31186) I made a back in response to a query about that guide. Wasn't the first time that stupid thing has been discussed within this section either. As you can see, at the time, I was definitely under the impression that section of the site was gone gone gone.

Haha.

A glitch? First time I've heard about that.

I haven't spent much time with Tetra Master to begin with, because I always viewed it as a lackluster version of Triple Triad. On the bright side, at least the music was nicer!

:) Useful tip --- if you want to breeze through the Desert Palace, just use Quina and make sure s/he knows L5 Death. It instantly takes care of all monsters in there except the final boss.

Which monsters have lv5 death?
And does it use alot of mp?

If you've missed Lv5 Death up before going into Kuja's, then probably the easiest enemy to acquire it from is the Whale Zombie, which hangs out on the beach on the Lost Continent. It can also be learned from Stroper, Dracozombie and Lich --- in other words, a few of the monsters in the Iifa Tree.

It only costs 22 MP to use, not bad at all. You can probably get through most if not all of the castle without using it up. And if not, there is a moogle you can rest up at.

Or just keep Amarant on your team instead of taking him to Oeilvert. Chakra will take care of all your MP needs. That's why I always keep him with my mages in Desert Palace. :P
