Problem with FFXII Disc 3. One track won't unzip (Hitoshi Sakimoto - An Imminent Threat) and it's saying the problem is that the password is wrong. Everything else extracts fine.

I'll just be grabbing it at Bluelaguna then, no biggie.

FYI on the first set of downloads for Final Fantasy IX - OST, tracks 31 and 32 (Zidane's Theme & Black Waltz Theme) were missing from Disc 1.

Also on Final Fantasy X-2 - OST (I think the first download link, not sure), Track 01-31 "Tension" was in the second disc's folder as track 31.

Sorry about the late post and sketchy details, just got my registration to finally activate so it's been a while.

Edit:
The first download link for Final Fantasy 20020220 Concert has a bunch of missing tracks on both discs as well.

(I've never encountered corrupt .zip files that were missing full tracks, unless there's another explanation? I'd appreciate someone backing me up so I don't look like a complete party-pooper.)

Also on Final Fantasy X-2 - OST (I think the first download link, not sure), Track 01-31 "Tension" was in the second disc's folder as track 31.
The FFX-2 link he's talking about was mine (Megaupload). I downloaded the OST from Filefront, but I didn't notice the misplacement of "Tension".

Besides, it's really risky to host this stuff for free on your own server (as in case of FFVII AC you mentioned) - you might get your ass fried really bad by Squeenix for that.

1. No one, I mean NO ONE on ANY forum is sitting there and just waiting for your requests then IMMEDIATELY runs off like mad to fulfill them (unless otherwise promised by someone). Doesn't matter if you're noob or not. Nobody ows you nothing here. People upload something only if they FEEL LIKE doing it. If no one does - you just can't blame em.

2. For yr a) - see my post #92 in this thread (specifically the 2nd sentence). Tired of repeating it.

3. For yr b) - in fact most people here find DL-nig archived albums very convenient, coz clicking on each and every song sucks big time, unless you only need a coulpe of songs.

4. most of people here DO KNOW about Blue Laguna's site, so I'm not gonna add any of this to the list.

Please, try to look around the forum a bit before gracing us with more of your "revelations". No offence, man, but your post kinda looks like a direct transmission from Mars here.

What are you doing trying to download entire soundtracks on dial-up anyways :/ I sometimes get plain bored of waiting when I'm only getting like 120kb/s

Also people much, much prefer single file archives of entire albums because it's alot more convenient. People on dial-up are now a tiny minority. Plus imagine downloading 30~100 tracks of an OST one by one from free file hosting sites :/

Roph is right, I'd rather download a single soundtrack than download song by song, and there is ways for you to do so at GH, so no, it's not just downloading one song at a time. Also, Blue Laguna doesn't work for me, not sure about other people.

The reason why some of us are stuck still stuck on dial-up (especially in the rural/boonie areas) is because of either
A) Crappy cable company.
B)Crappy @#$#ing @#$#$ers @#$$hole of a phone company that won't update the phone lines so they are are broadband ready. By my reckoning, the lines in my area are pushing 30 years old.

the "Stuffit Expander" which is what you need to open files is a free download at www.stuffit.com it works on Mac, Windows and Linux.

pass this info on. and if something like this comes up PM me, i m apple certified and hav 5+ yrs experience on windows, so chances are i can find an answer.

to dial up users

WINDOWS
-dont use internet explorer , use mozilla firefox
-in mozilla download the extension "downthemall" -->pls figure out how to do this on your own.

the end result is you have a very stable browser and a built in download manager, this allows you to work on "borrowed bandwidth" like me.

Mac OSX Panther/Tiger
- don't bother getting mozilla, use safari
- safari is faster on mac than mozilla if you are on dial up.
- get "iGetter", it is a free download manager for Mac. you can look for it on "versiontracker.com"

the_solid_snake is right to groups of mp3s in zips cos its actually more economical to download/upload than getting them individually, if you are on dial up it might look like its taking a long time but the end result is better.

BUT on the other hand if the zip fails to download correctly then you have a huge phone bill with nothing to show, if you were to download individual files the money wasted on failed downloads is a lot less.

so pls take this into consideration before you blow up at someone who asks for individual files.

i ll leave it up to you to decide which is better, if you use the methods i v mentioned the chances of a failed download is reduced.

we must also appreciate the generosity of those who choose to share their mp3s with us, so be considerate when asking for individual files.

Uploaded Project Majestic Mix: The Trance Album Limited Edition to box.net. The good thing is that it'll stay there for good. The bad thing is that they excluded the "zip folder" option from the free account features, so now we'll have to dl tracks one-by-one.
Hope tayami is still with us to grab it ;)

Oh, and: guys, don't ask me about the ridiculous file splitting there. The damn thing has a 10 mb per file limit. Besides their idea of 10 mb seems somewhat different from the commonly known number of bytes, so I just chopped up everything over 10'000'000 bytes with winrar.

2 All: fresh file hosting ideas are always welcome.

i tested and i could open rars on all the Macs i have in the lab.

i tested on a 2005 eMac with Tiger 10.4.7, unfortunately this is the oldest unit i could get my hands on, so i m not sure what would happen if yours is running an older OSX.

i m guessing your's is an early 2005 ibook g4 running osx10.3.x panther, cos stuffit ships with panther but not with tiger... if so:

1)try downloading the latest version of Stuffit. its free but you have to submit your email address, they'll email the download link to your ad.
i hav a link for the osx 10.3+, not sure it will work, try anyhow

2)try updating to osx 10.3.9 which is the latest panther update. and try again.

I've been looking for that CD like crazy, it's by a Japanese band called Hellion, but I can't find anywhere I can possibly buy it, cause it's definitely worth it, certain tracks even compete with the Black Mages version. The thing is that the tracks in the .rar file don't have the highest sound quality, if anybody could tell me where I can find the album to buy it or find the mp3's in higher quality I'd gladly make an .rar archive and upload them.

well actually i personally think The Black Mages are doing a great job arranging past Final Fantasy scores in more of a Rock/Symphonic style. my favourite would have to be Maybe I'm a Lion from Final Fantasy VIII and The Skies Above from Final Fantasy X.

Hellion did what the black Mages could not, what I mean is, the way that Hellion have arranged the music is in a way that I prefer a lot more than the Black Mages (The Decisive Battle track made me cry).

Personally I prefer The Black Mages, but I guess where Hellion outdoes The Black Mages is in song selection. I almost cried when I finally got an arrangement of FF7's Birth of God, which is one of my favorite boss battle tracks ever. Seriously, would it have hurt The Black Mages to replace, I dunno, the battle theme from FF1 with an arrangement of this?
Then there's Battle 2 from FF4 which is just pure orgasm to my ears and the Mystic Quest battle theme was just PERFECTLY arranged too.

I mean, as much as I love The Black Mages I think tunes like:

Battle with Seymour
The Skies Above
Battle Scene (FF1)
Blue Blast - Winning the Rainbow

could have been easily replaced with one of the tunes mentioned above, or other deserving tunes like "Fighting" (FF7) or the theme of the Weapon battles (its name escapes me right now). Or Last Boss themes that just blew me away like "The Extreme" (FF8) or "Dark Messenger" (FF9), in fact "Battle 1" from FF9 is far more deserving than those four mentioned above. So I guess that's my only qualm with The Black Mages. Oh, and the fact that the "Zeromus" arrangement sucks. But they certainly make up for it with "Maybe I'm a Lion", "Clash on the big bridge", "Force your way" and "Dancing Mad" which are just breathtaking.

Can't wait for their third album! Hopefully some of the tunes I mentioned will be in it.

BTW, what I think happened with the Hellion tracks, even if they're in 192kbps, is that whoever ripped them did so in a crappy quality, but then made them into 192kbps, there's no way it can sound that grainy ripped directly from the disc.
OH AND DON'T FORGET, IF SOMEBODY FINDS THE "HELLION EXTRA TRACKS" CD AND POSTS IT, HE/SHE WILL BE MY NEW GOD AND I WILL BUILD SEVERAL CHURCHES IN THEIR HONOR.

I have a question for you square lovers out there, there was an old ff7 commercial a whild back that featured a tune that I never new the name of. (If you want to view the clip its available at rpgamer.com.) Ive ripped the tune from the video clip for your listening pleasure however its still not the best quality that it could be. Now Im just wondering if anyone can identify this theme since Ive heard it in a couple movies including a chinese movie so I doubt its made from any of the square composers. If anyone out there can help I would be greatly appreciated. Please and thanks in advanced.

OMG, this is basic computer knowledge here.

Anyway, make sure you've downloaded and installed WinRar. Now...

1- Open the Rar file (pop-up shows up if you'd like to use the web to search for a program to open the file or find the program yourself, choose the later)
2- Find the program "WinRar" from the list and click it.
3- Just below, it should have a checkbox saying "Always use the selected program to open this kind of file". Click it.
4- Now click the "OK" button.

There you have it, no more having to do that everytime.

BTW, to all, I'm getting sick of SendSpace. It's limiting me to 50 KB/s whenever I download from them. I'm usually capable of 175+ KB/s.

Thanks for letting me know =D. The Zilart soundtrack has a wrong key ~ been fixed. And the X-2 soundtrack had a "+" in the filename which was causing trouble ~ also fixed.

- 10 days inactivity period

I don't know if it's just me, but has SendSpace reduced the download limit 50 KB/s? Because that's all I can get from them at the fastest speed.

I figure MegaUpload isn't really outside-U.S. friendly, but that seems like the best thing for file sharing for internet users in the U.S.

and yes, rapidshare is extremely fast (160+ KB/s for me), but I can't stand the download limit.

I'll try Sarah's recommendation when I upload some stuff.

SS, just plain sucks IMO since the uploads don't last too long unactively(7 days = you've wasted ur time) unless the link is actively downloaded. Uploading to them is like forever, lol. In otherwords been stopped using their services after my 1st upload to that site, lol.

MU, isn't that bad except free users can't use DL accelerators with other obvious restrictions unless you go premium.

RS, never used that site for uploading, downloading files from there yea. I agree with you on the DL limit.

Hey does anyone have a link to the music score for Final Fantasy VIII Piano Collections. I have been looking all over the web just to find the sheet music for number "11 - The Successor" but haven't yet found a working link. FF Shrine's and Galbadia Hotel's only has the first two pages to it and I tried slyph.org but the download link was defective. If anyone could post a link to that I would be eternally greatful!

Don't know what's the problem in your case. Broken archive maybe? The password is "MOS" (no quotes, three capital letters) - 100% positive. Just dl'ed a file from this ost and checked it - works fine.

Hehe thx kcl822, but one of the main reasons why I cant find Squaredance ~Limited Edition~ is that ppl keep giving me the Nobuo FF edition one (the one you posted), which I have... possibly several of the same copies now :D

From what i've heard at gamingfm.com & froom googling, Squaredance ~LE~ is the Chrono Trigger/Cross set =)
