I think it said on squaresound that Hayato Matsuo arranged the final fantasy tracks and Sugiyama arranged his dragon quest titles.

I was able to recognise the Final fantasy tracks but only about three dragon quest ones

thanks for the complete list guys ^^

I just stumbled upon this thread and since I have the item in question, I thought I'd re-up. Tell me if there's any problems or if it goes down again.

Is it strange that I always feel like thanking people for thanking me? I'm really happy to be helping.

Through all my searching for that, it would seem no one (on any English speaking websites anyway) has ever ripped it or posted their rip online. I have the ISO of the game, but all the ripping guides for PSP I've seen require you to actually do it on your PSP, and I don't have one.

Actually, there was a rip of the Itadatki Street Portable right on this forum. It's been long lost though, just like this one that so you kindly brought back from the dead.

Well, still it's better to have one of the two than none right? If the portable one ever surfaces up I hope someone will be around to post it.

Haha, after about half an hour of more dilligent Google searching than I attempted before, I found it! Thinking it was almost too good to be true, I'm listening to it now and it's the real deal. Very big thanks and all the glory to the guy who runs this (http://silvagunner.weebly.com/) page, and here (http://anonym.to/?http://www.megaupload.com/?d=VRHXLRAN) is the link. If it ever goes down, tell me.

The tracks are converted without editing from the files on the game so they just come to a sudden stop and don't fade out, but it's no big deal. If anyone could supply me with or point me to where I could get the original files from the game I could probably fix this. The sound quality is actually much better than I expected. Sounds a lot better than some other PSP soundtracks I've heard, without much at all of that ugly noise from compression.

I'm only 10 tracks in, but it sounds like Matsuo did a great job.

Holy shiz. Oh god that's a Holy Grail. You're really great, I'm surprised you went and Google'd for it, when I attempted that last time all I found was nothing. Gratz. And of course, great thanks. I'll take a loot at it asap and probably loop and fade out the tracks.

I searched for - "Itadaki Street Portable" soundtrack - just like that, with the quotes in there so I wouldn't get results for Itadaki Street Special too, and it came up within like the first five. And I'm guessing the guy who uploaded it only did that recently so it probably wasn't there last time either of us looked.

I'd loop and fade it too if it weren't for the fact that these are MP3s encoded from an already lossy source and that people would probably want the looped version in MP3 as well. I'm going to look into if I can get the original streams or if I can give someone the ISO of the game and they can rip it for me. I couldn't resist looping "Eternal Wind" now though. I was not expecting that track at all and it sounds really good.

Actually, the game itself has the audio in 128kbit AC3, which is lossy either way, sad but true.

Isn't it amazing that it sounds as good as it does with that bitrate? I haven't given up on being able to get the originals and if I do I'll loop that so we only have one lossy step instead of two.

Andrees
06-26-2010, 10:31 AM
Well, I myself use DFX to enhance the audio furthermore. But as for AC3, it's not a regular format like MP3. It offers much better quality when compressed. 128kbit AC3 equals to about 200kbit+ of mp3.

Hey man, I did it. I got the original files, converting them to WAV right now. They're actually in Sony's ATRAC3Plus format, which is hell. In case anyone comes upon this in the future and is looking for how to convert this format, use HiMdRenderer. Give me time to do the looping and I'll upload here. I could make FLACs and post them now if you want to do that for your own project.

Andrees
06-27-2010, 12:36 AM
Hey, good to know. And well, it could've been expected. PSP games use ONLY AC3 or AC3+ for audio (As far as I know). And nah, I'll wait if you're already working on the loops, cheers :)
As for AC3+, you could've asked me regarding converting it since I'm already familiar with it back from times when I ripped Dissidia and Birth by Sleep tracks.

I've finished the looping and made a new thread so that people can find it easier and not have to scroll through this one. http://forums.ffshrine.org/showthread.php?p=1501123#post1501123
