What do people think of having a ff8 film like the ff7 film advent children by the way does anyone know when it will be released in the uk

A Final Fantasy VIII Movie? Sure, I'd watch it. Nice idea. But it would be cool if they didn't make a movie that continues where FFVIII left off. I think FFVIII's already complete. It would be nice if they made a Final Fantasy VIII movie that focuses on another story. Like Laguna's story or so.

I'd like to know more about Edea and Headmaster Cid.

It takes about 4 years to make a CG film like Advent Children so we wouldnt get it till 2010

I would prefer if they made an FFVI movie or at least one of the FF classics. I always wanted know how would characters look like.

The film could be based on the characters when they were younger, stuff happening that made edea become a sorrserece it may work wot ya think

If they did decide to make a movie I would like the storyline to be the same as in the game and possibly develop on some things.

FF8 is probably the only FF game that is capable of being dumbed down to a point where it would only make ONE movie, because it's not a very long video game. All the others, (FF6, FF7, etc.) would have to be made into a trilogy or such. I wouldn't mind seeing a movie on it, as long as they made a few changes, explained a few things. Shoot, since it's my dream to become a writer and director, I wouldn't mind writing the screenplay and I directing it, maybe composing some of the music too.

All of the FF's ive played take exactly the same time apart from X which takes like double the time

I finished FFX pretty quick and done almost every side quest. Most time on my FF7 file. Sorry for being off topic.

Anyway FF8 movie: unless we see a massive marketing move to extend the life cycle of FF8 *cough Final Fantasy 7 cough* we most probably won't see an FF8 movie.

Since I'm a right old sad fucker I had written down a reasonable casting for FFX if it was ever converted to a live action movie. I think I shall attempt FF8 and see what I come up with - I love having the internet at work!

I would love to see a FF8 movie. I think Squall's cute and would love to see a more detailed render of the characters. But it's quite hard to do a sequel or prequel out of it. Maybe an entire new storyline with new villians would do it. What do u you think? :)

yeah me too, maybe if seifer had somehow survived, or some evil force was growing in the deep sea reactor. that would be awesome.

Hey, wait a minute.. i thought Seifer survived. He was seen at the end of game FMV fishing with his buddies and he look like a nice guy now. I would choose the latter( some evil force growing in the deep see reactor) instead. Made more sense. Hey, i would love to see Squall and Seifer team up against the baddies fighting side by side( They used to be such good pals right?)

Well they didnt used be such good pals, they were the worst of enemy's, but I think that it would be quality to have them fight side-by-side

Squall and Seifer are alike in a lot of ways, but their individual circumstances and Seifer's boisterous, rebellious, authority-defying attitude and his desire to prove himself meant that they could never team up. However, if Seifer truly has changed (quite possible), then they could be a good team.

my favourite character is squall,and Seifer is very arrogant in combat, thats the only thing i dont like about Seifer..and Squall is Always Calm.

Not necessarily, I'd say. Final Fantasy X-2 was actually created specifically because Square-Enix listened to the voices of fans who wanted a sequel to the story. Don't believe it? Just check out some of the interviews linked on the main FFShrine site.

If an FF8 movie was made I would buy it just to own it.as for making a movie for every Final Fantasy,well the fact a different one comes out almost every year would mean the number of FF movies would sky rocket.Plus God knows how long it took to make FFVII-2 advent children!As for the FFX-2 I think it was made for the girls who play final fantasy.Im glad someone made a topic about the rumors of the FF8 movie.Thanx
