I just want to know if you guys agree with me and think FF8 would make a good movie and I don't mean a sequel I mean the actual games story. If you do who do you think would be the best actors to play the parts or do the voices depending on if it was Real Action or CGI Animated. I personally think it would but I can't think of who would be good for the parts.

I don't think it'd make a great movie. It was a good game, but it lacks a lot of what would make a good movie. Character development, for instance.

they'd obvioulsy think of a way around the stats and stuff (don't ask me how) but yeh i think it'd make a fantastic movie :) to see the story on film and see the characters and they're voices on a HUGE screen would be sooooo cool..... :)

Back in the old days, it was done with props, wires, and lights. Then cel animation appeared in movies. Nowadays, CG images are added onto live shots. Any of those methods could conceivably show magic spells.

Well the story is one of the most mature stories if not the most out of all final fantasys only for the fact that the characters have a gripping sense to them and CGI would look amazing, Like I am not saying to make a sequel but the game had good CG's but the other parts in the game lacked in the graphics department( i know it was on PS1) but still a brand new CGI movie would do the story justice and bring final fantasy's gripping story to all audiences without making some dumbed down sequel (FFX-2) well thats been my 2 gil

ff8 would only be with white people (unless..you count an extra seeD or something..), people would then complain... but then again, no one complained about lord of the rings, there wasnt any black people in there :P

I think everyone remembers 'Final Fantasy The Spirits Within'... and IMO how bad it was (It was just a CG version of the movie Aliens, complete with the same music composer, Elliot Goldenthal. But that's just my opinion.). Besides, Square studios went bust after FFTSW, so it'd most probably be either Dreamworks or Pixar (For a CG animated version), and if it was made as a 'live action' movie... I think I'll just shoot myself.

As I haven't seen any of the FF movies, I'm not sure what it would be like. All in all though, I think the chars and plot are amazing, it's like the best thing square could have pulled together. But a movie? I dunno. Making games into movies would be risky. Doesn't sound very clever either. But I would like to see it done, even if it was a bad movie.
