well i'm starting to get into manga/ anime. so i was wondering if someone could help me out and recommend me some manga/ anime. i think i'm into like romance and comedy type of manga/ anime. so far i've read/ seen gto, kimi ga nozomu eien, pita ten, chobits, love hina, onegai twins, green green, midori no hibi, rizelmine, chrono crusade, fruit basket, ichigo 100%, samurai champloo, full metal alchemist, and bleach. i'm probably missing a few. well that's the kind of manga/ anime i'm into so if anyone has a recommendation, it'd be greatly appreciated. thanks.

i don't like doing things myself. also the other thread was just to get a little music spread about, promote your favorite artist and whatnot. also i was interested in what other shriners considered 'good' music.

Oh, My Goddess! Brilliant, if somewhat bizzare mix of romance, philosophy, Norse mythology, quantam physics, computer science, motorcycle racing, and comedy.

Besides Kosuke Fujishima's original long-running manga (which hasn't finished yet, even after being in continuous publication since 1989 - available in the US and elsewhere translated by Dark Horse Comics), there are also several anime versions - a five episode OVA released in 1993, a recent theatrical movie (which uses the Japanese title Ah! My Goddess), the humerous chibi spin-off Adventures of the Mini-Goddeses, and a new TV series which has recently started it's run on Japanese TV (and which is coming to the US on DVD shortly).

The romantic subplot may seem a little nauseauting at times (mainly due to the fact that mortal Keiichi and the heavenly Belldandy do not really express their love for each too deeply, and Belldandy can be somewhat wimpish at times), but it is also very touching, and the zany comedy (usually involing Belldandy's meddling sisters Urd and Skuld and the slightly incompetent demoness Mara) helps to relieve the more serious parts. If you're into romantic comedies and like something a bit different, then I think Oh, My Goddess! would be a good choice.

If you like KGNE, you should check out Air. It's wonderful.

I guess I would sort of recommend Kanon if you really like that sort of thing, but I didn't think it was that great. So it is a half-hearted recommendation!

Tsukuyomi Moon Phase and Shuffle are both fun comedies. Shuffle has a lot more romance stuff then Moon Phase, but I haven't seen all of either series.

Just to warn you, there might be some nudity/sex in later episodes of Shuffle. They upped the tv rating, and I haven't seen episodes since then. It shouldn't be any worse then what is in KGNE, though.

thank you enkidoh and ndi. i've read a bit of oh! my goddess. it was alright but i guess i just kind of stopped watching it, but i suppose i'll give it a try if it is as good as you say. also if air is as good as kimi ga nozomu eien, then i'll be sure to check it out. oh and if the nudity isn't really intense in shuffle then i suppose it's ok. anyways thank you two very much for the help.

. oh and if the nudity isn't really intense in shuffle then i suppose it's ok.

It's tv-15, which means either graphic violence, or some nudity, I think.

The first 8 episodes are a-ok, though. When I see past that, I will let you know for sure how bad it is.

I don't see Tenchi Muyo up yet, so I'm gonna recommend that. And if you haven't seen Onegai Teacher, the prequel to Onegai Twins, then I suggest that as well. I liked DNA^2 as well. I My Me! Strawberry Eggs (though more ecchi comedy than romance) was great too. You should really just find an anime search site and look at the romantic comedy section and just watch whatever is there.

if you love Samurai Champloo you should see Cowboy Bebop
and for comedy/romance stuff you might wanna check out School rumble or I's
FLCL is also great fun and to me one of the most beautifull animated epic in years even if it is only 6 episodes
Mindgame is another beauty
great story, great animation, possibly best animated film to come out in years(i've seen it like 6 times already)

I downloaded Battle Programmer Shirase the other day, awesome series. Shame there was no 2nd season. :(

Also get broadband if you dont have it and go to www.animesuki.com. They list all the torrents for any unlicensed anime out. If you cant find anime you like there, then your probably lame.

btw it was unlicensed here so I had to dl it, not that I wouldnt have anyway.
