now i know there is one already, but i think mine is a little more complete.
My Chocobo Racing Guide and Items List
Chocobo racing is the mini-game, if you will, of Chocobo breeding, and in fact plays an important roll in breeding. Now, racing is a flavor of breeding in it�s own right. You can actually breed racing Gold Chocobo�s but that takes time, money, and extreme patients. I will get to that later tough. Now while racing you will notice that you can win prizes, whether you are betting on races or participating in races. These items grow higher in value as the �class� of the item increases. Here is a table of the items that you can win, there Gp value, and what class(s) they are in:

For a racing Gold Chocobo, you will need two gold Chocobo�s, at least 3 or 4 empty stalls, and a hell of a lot of Sylkis. Go and get 99 Sylkis greens and feed half of them to the female and the other half to the male. Now, raise the female and male Gold Chocobo�s until the both reach class �S�. Once they are both to class �S�, mate them and feed them a Zeio nut. With some luck you will get another Gold Chocobo or at the very least a Black one. Now repeat this process until you get another Chocobo that is the opposite sex of the one you just got. Once you have those, feed them some Sylkis greens and race them to class �S� and mate them. Repeat this process six to seven times, more if you want to, and you should have a mighty fine Gold or Black Chocobo.

Special Enemy skill
one more thing before we get to the gold chocobo guild, there is a special enemy skill to be found using chocobos.
First off you need to learn level 4 death from a mu. then find a chocobo and use sense on it (level 16 choco�s are only around the ranch area). if the level of the chocobo is level 16, use level 4 death on it and it will use Chocobuckle. This attack does damage equal to the number of times you have escaped from battle, so the more you chicken out, the stronger it becomes.
How to get a Gold Chocobo

ok, first off I like to get all the things that ya need first, this makes for quicker breeding, also, save before you mate, since every time you mate a couple there can be a different outcome. ok, first off, it would be wise to have w-item for later on. now the first thing you need is a chocobo lure, then you need some greens, get the Gysahl Greens and Sylkis Greens. next you need a few stables, I would just rent them all now, and the nuts. Carob Nut and Zeio Nut. I would get 2 or 3 of each, and I will go over where to find them later in the guild.
now comes the fun part, yep lol. now to get a chocobo you need to equip the chocobo lure materia, you best lvl it up a little, and run around the chocobo tracks in certain areas. now to tell how good the chocobo is, you need to examine the monsters.
ok. in order to breed a Green and Blue Chocobo you need to find 2 Good Chocobos and 2 Great Chocobos. For the good chocobo's, go search the tracks near the Gold Saucer. They hang out with 2 Spencers. Once you find one, go to your items menu, highlight the Gysahl Greens that you bought and use them on the chocobo, this calms it down so that you don�t scare it away with your attacks. once the 2 Spencers are destroyed, send that choco to the stables and repeat the process for the second one.
for the Great Chocobos you need to go to the tracks by Rocket Town. They show up with either 2 Valrons or 2 Kyuvilduns. Again feed it the Gysahl Greens and defeat the monsters and send the chocobo to the stables. Repeat for the other Great Chocobo and then head to the chocobo sages house.
The chocobo sage is located in a valley by icicle inn. If you haven�t done so already, approach the Green Chocobo in his house and talk to it to get an Enemy Skill materia. Go up the steps and talk to the sage and ask to buy something from him. Select Sylkis Greens and buy 2 or 3. Here�s where the W-Item materia comes in handy. Now go out side and make sure that the materia is equipped then get in a battle. Once you�re in one, select item and highlight Sylkis Greens then select another item and push the cancel button, this will 'clone' the first selected item. Do this until you have 99 Sylkis Greens. Now for the Carob Nuts. These allow you to breed green, blue, and black chocos.
Carob Nuts can be stolen from the Vlakorados, dinosaur looking monster, by Bone Village. Make sure to get at least three of them. Now your ready to head back to the ranch.
When you get there, go to the stables and talk to choco Billy and select feeding and feed part of the sylkis Greens to the great chocobos and the other part to the good ones. This allows you to up the speed, intelligence, and stamina of your chocos.
Now get back on highwind and fly to the gold saucer and go to the chocobo arena. Talk to Ester and select one of the chocobos to race. Now you might not want to do what I am about to tell ya, so you can say you did it w/o the secret but it is faster. The first time I got a gold chocobo I didn�t use this secret but it makes things go faster. Now as you race you know that your chocos stamina reduces, but if you press r1, r2, l1, and l2 at the same time, you can refill you stamina bar. Ok, in order to get a green or a blue chocobo, you need 1 class 'A' good chocobo and one class 'A' great chocobo. Now with every three wins, your choco will go up a class. Once your chocobos are at the correct class, you can mate them.
Now, one important thing that I forgot to mention, doh, was that you need to make sure that the chocos you caught have one male and female in each group, good and great. Once all of that is done and verified, then you can mate. It would be best to save at this point.
Now, talk to choco Billy in the stables about mating, then go select the male or female good and great chocobos. Then Billy will ask you for a nut to use, select one of the Carob Nuts that you collected earlier. Now with a little luck, you'll get a green and a blue on your first try. If not then reload the save file and try again.
Now in order to get a Black Chocobo you need to mate the green and the blue, so make sure one is a female and one is a male. Go get some more sylkis greens and redo the cloning step and feed them to the new birds. Now race the green and the blue at the gold saucer until the reach class 'S'.
Now, back to the ranch and save your game. Mate the green and the blue and give them a Carob nut. If you don�t get a black on the first try just reload the save file and try again.
Now the hard part. Once you have a Black Chocobo you will need a Wonderful Chocobo, the hardest one to find and it has to be the opposite gender of your black one too. These you can find near the icicle inn tracks. They appear with a jumping or 2 jumpings. Now race the Wonderful and Black chocos, once you feed them the Sylkis Greens, at the gold saucer until they reach class 'S'.
Now you will need a zeio nut. These can be stolen from goblins on Gob Island. It is easy to find, just look in the northeastern sea for an island with a forest in the shape of a goblins head.
Now once you have obtained the zeio nut return to the ranch, save your file and mate the Black and the Wonderful Chocobos. Now you should have one of the best modes of transportation available, a Gold Chocobo. I wait till I get this to get the four special Materia�s but that�s entirely up to you. Well there ya have it, I hope it helps those of you who are seeking help getting a G. chocobo.
There is a second, much harder, way.
You must destroy the Ruby weapon and take the Desert Rose to the Kalm Traveler in the top floor of the Kalm inn. In return he will give you a well-earned Gold chocobo.
