At Toy Fair 2018 Hasbro revealed that a vinyl release of the G1 Transformers Series Soundtrack is going to be released. Well on Twitter, Enjoy The Ride Records released a clip and said it will be released on March 9th on their https://enjoytheriderecords.com/ I was wondering if anyone plans to buy it? And then Rip a digital copy? Cause as of now, they have no plans to do a cd or digital release.

Here is a clip of the new soundtrack!

If vinyl's not for you check this out http://www.thetfcog.com/ they have all the music used across all four seasons, which I doubt the official release will get as some tracks are from other shows.

Been there! But I rather have a nice clean and clear and high quality version of the music. Not ones with segments that fade in and out and with occasional sound effects.

Did you try the restoration soundtracks? No sfx in those tracks, not the highest quality but better than their earlier versions.

Second this. Been watching for it for years when this was first announced. So glad it is finally being released.

Third this. I was wondering if someone was going to request this. It'll likely show up here at some point. They're releasing this shit only on Vinyl, and Hasbro KNOWS they have a lot of fanboys(including myself) that would literally just throw money at a digital release, and they're only limiting it to 2000 copies?! I mean, are you fucking kidding me? As most noted on TFWorld, this invites pirates. Not that I blame them for anything, but this really, really pisses me off that they're doing this release this way.

Me too. I hope it's coming in another format. Digital, blu ray, CD. Any of them.

I was able to buy the Optimus edition of this (sold out in 5 minutes, woo!)

A few points to clarify, though:

1. Enjoy The Ride Records is (almost) exclusively a vinyl release seller. They have no plans to do a CD or digital release because that's just not their business model, so they aren't in any position to announce or even comment on what Hasbro or Sony (who has the recordings) plans to do in those formats. I've seen a LOT of angry comments on multiple websites from people who just don't realize this.

2. Robert J. Walsh said that he wanted to remaster everything (1983 - 1988) in 5.1 surround, then later said it would be released on a Blu-ray/DVD. Even assuming that he only worked on the music contained in this album, there's just no way anyone involved would've done the work if it were intended solely for a limited vinyl release. A CD / digital release is imminent, and was almost certainly part of the plan all along.

I'm going to try contacting someone I know who runs a VERY good website that posts high quality vinyl rips of 12" singles from the 80s & 90s. If he'd be willing to rip an entire album, I will offer to lend him my copy when it arrives.

You would be unbelievably awesome if he's able to rip a copy of this. I've been anxiously awaiting news of this ever since the first rumors of it started popping up.

It sounds like they had to re-record the vocals there. Thankfully it's only the title themes that have vocals. The rest should be untouched.

Yes, I also think it sounds like a rerecording. But some say it could also be a alternate take that was made.

It's a demo version of the theme. Longer opening, same singers minus voice effects, different "Robots in disguise" vocoder effect... it's a sort of thing that happens when they don't bother to pay attention to details, let alone consult with the fans. Similar thing happened with He-Man score release - bunch of Secret of the sword re-recordings were featured instead of original He-Man versions.

Man, I really do hope someone that managed to get a copy of this frequents this forum a lot. They're already ordering a second printing of them. Hopefully Hasbro will get wise and release a digital version.

All of these are SOTS/She-Ra re-recodings:
Attack Truck
Dragon Invasion
Skeletor chase
Skeletor's spaceship
Snake Mountain
Stone Statue
Trouble in Grayskull

On a side note, track titled "Save the day" is a pre-final mix that was used in the hour long special "Greatest adventures of all".

She-Ra re-recordings use different synth sounds. Some only few new synths, others, like "Snake Mountain theme", a lot.
For example, here's the original Snake Mountain:

The re-recording:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YLr2G-pE_-c

With "Save the day", this mix has echoey sound to it and the drums layer haven't been mixed in properly.

Still legitimately upset they decided to release this only in vinyl.

I'm guessing much of the sold records went to scalpers... they're utter nuisance in Transformers community.
Also, the collectors who buy it just to put it on a wall...
