A possible Johann Johannsson demo for Blade Runner 2049:

Probably all we're gonna get now that he's off the film. Sounds wonderful!

Well.... that was unpleasant. Philip Glass goes bombastic with a whiff of the old Blade Runner theme.

I actually really liked that! I don't tend to enjoy Johann' s music but I really would have enjoyed him sticking around for this. I really hope Zimmer and Wallfisch do wirte a great score for this. I've rarely been disappointed with Zimmer and Wallfisch has really surprised me with some of his latest films as of late but after hearing that clip I'm a little dissappointed Johann didn't or couldn't stay on.

It is not the 'Blade Runner Sound' that impressed me back in 1982 to write (a REAL letter with a real STAMP)
and protest the unreleased soundtrack. I suspect this new film will cause turmoil as will its score. But
I remember DRAGGING people into near empty theaters to see the original film and the first thing said as
we walked out was always the same: "I want that soundtrack."

love the 'updated' sound.

first saw Blade Runner when i was 10 or 11, impressed by the visual and mood. had no memories of its soundtrack except a bit sax here and there...

This was actually posted back in July right here (Thread 210702). And at the time, HZ was nearly done with the score. So it's most likely not JJ.

Likewise. That's not JJ. There's too much rhythm and melody to it for it to be JJ

Ha ha ha so bad it's ridiculous...
He adds a few repetitive arp sounds I could have made with the cheapest synths I own.
He did this in 5 minutes, right? I could.

Agree with Witchhunter General. This is taken from the recent full trailer. Although I can't be certain, this sounds like the work of Twelve Titans Music,

Los Angeles-based trailer music production company founded by composer, David Travis. I may well be wrong, but the track has that 'Everybody's All-American' gung-ho bullshit

feel about it, the kind of music that makes me wonder what has happened to quality film scoring. After 44 years listening too, and collecting of film scores, the attached track

is the kind of music that leaves me cold. I dearly hope the new Blade Runner film is a stunner and the accompanying score respectfully nods towards Vangelis' masterpiece.

Time will tell. In the meantime, anyone wishing to listen to more of the same (As in the crap that's produced in the link above) should head over and download More Than Human,

Twelve Titan Music's album of utter noise. Or, if you want to hear how real electronic music is being made in the 21st century who could do a lot worse than checking out

Winona's 'Rosebud' album, a secret collaboration from Craig Armstrong. Wonderful stuff.

I agree. It sounds so much like that, though I'm not sure if it was used in one trailer.

Real edgy mate, keep it up.

As a bit of a warning, if you want to be critical of art, try to keep the hyperbole out. "I may well be wrong, but the track has that 'Everybody's All-American' gung-ho bullshit feel about it, the kind of music that makes me wonder what has happened to quality film scoring" is only goign to serve one purpose, and that is getting the few that agree to nod their heads, while the many will call you out.

I was gonna say that as well, I feel like it's from one of the trailers. It matches the length, too.

Here it is on YouTube (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_8Xpow55wEMhttps://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_8Xpow55wEM), the uploader claims it's JJ. I don't think it is though
