another photo host has pulled the plug on both free and paying customers by deactivating posted images on 3rd party sites. Any recommendation for another method of posting pics without relying on hosts like this?

I saw this in my emails today as well. I've used photobucket for the longest time so it really sucks to see this happen. I always felt it was the most convenient site to use for this sort of thing.

Yeah all my images on my custom covers blog went down. I had already started transitioning to imgur but now i'm gonna make a complete shift. What a PAIN. Photobucket has been acting weird for a long while though.

Deactivating ad blockers, not loading right, shifting between interfaces, not letting you copy IMG codes prior to the terms change, sometimes not loading at all... yup. I had already started using imgur before now to host pictures so this is no biggie. I've ordered my Photobucket account to close down.

I can't even get INTO my account anymore. It always tells me wrong password even when i reset it...

imgur is good.

I keep seeing this news bumped and I keep hoping it is an announcement of the inevitable closure of photobucket, so we can all say "told you so" or "serves you right".

Good lord, I feel like getting your own domain and host would be cheaper at this point.

<S>not any more. They pulled the plug on posting pics too</S>. :(

EDIT: Sorry for the false alarm, it was Adblocker on my Firefox browser preventing imgur pics from displaying. So yes, imgur works fine. For now. ;)

Your post was from 06AM (my time zone). Here's my post from 09.50AM (Thread 90457) with a custom cover uploaded on my Imgur. Seems you're wrong (so far).

Just checked other sites where I've posted imgur links, they're working fine.

Turned out it was Adblocker on my Firefox browser that was blocking all imgur pics. I thought somebody already confirmed imgur was working, and I posted this in reply.

Anyone's got a way to mass download everything uploaded on your own photobucket account? It seems to me the conventional way was removed and made exclusive to premium members. All the more reason to migrate.

For the record, I'm asking on behalf of everyone looking for options. I actually already went one by one downloading mine because I had no other. The sour part is that I realized later that about 1/4th of them were downloaded corrupted, so right now I'm cherry picking them and redownloading them. Funnier still, most of them take several times to download correctly. Take precautions if you go the same road.

Anyways, I'd be surprised if this weren't a violation of their own ToS. I mean, they are practically sequestering my pictures. That said, I'm getting my pictures and I'm done with them. Them closing-down after this fiasco is a given, but I dream that somebody angrier sues the hell out of them to boot. What a way to back-stab your usership.
