A sampler of sorts - what could be 'recovered' from that Korean VOD release. As you'll probably notice - this means the cleanest score will be the credits track and the studio logos, the rest is with SFX and dialogue. And the problem is that the first 3 minutes of the film are available to play all well in HD over here (http://nstore.naver.com/movie/detail.nhn?productNo=2772787), but whoever did this rip of the audio seemingly didn't do a very good job at it so quality is off for the credits and everything else, but it's alright for me. Idk. Enjoy, I guess. For your best taste of Mansell - 1:00 to 3:20 on the credits. Pretty sure rest is Balfe - re-recorded from Mansell's or done by him.

Sorry. I didn't mean an official isolated score. I meant that I'm excited for the blu-ray to be released so that a talented fan could work their magic and take the 5.1 track and remove the center channel and some sound effects if possible. Lol

I suppose we'll have to wait and see. Metrotokyo did a great job with Tron, but then he also had the OST and sessions to work with. Hopefully there'll be some relatively quiet scenes to pull the score from.

Most users that post rips just invert the audio tracks (which eliminates most dialogue but leaves SFX) and call it good. Hopefully with the amount of attention and passion this score has received on social media, at least someone will try to make a legitimate edit. But that's just speculation on my part. I don't have the software or the know-how to attempt one myself.

Right. Ultimately it depends on the scene. And *sometimes* sfx can be eliminated by replacing the front left and right channels with their rear channel counterpart where sfx are present, and visa versa. I do think that there are a few scenes from this film that had relatively no sfx though. For example, I don't recall there being anything other than dialogue and score in the scene when Major meets her mother. And really anything is better than nothing. If the score is never officially released then blu-ray rips are probably the best we can hope for.

It's a small comfort to know at least a few tracks will be salvagable from the Blu-Ray. Nice to have this (even in 192kbps) in the mean time.

When I went to see the movie a second time knowing the score wasn't going to be released, I noticed the music even more and it made me more upset we're not getting it haha.

My guess that unless GiTS over-performs on sales Paramount will do its best to forget about it and consign it to the memory hole. Some estimates put the loss at about $100 million. I feared GiTS would underwhelm and this article from Deadline echoes my fears and reasons why it tanked.

Nothing. I liked the first hour of GiTS. It had potential.

Paramount and Dreamworks made the mistake of watering down the plot of the original anime. GiTS should have been at most a $50 million film. And I loved John Wick.

I hate it, but I thought the first hour was atmospheric and special. It really turns bad in the third act.
