Thank you for this rare promo. Great music. It seems strange now that the original composer Frank De Vol quit because of the (mild) sex scenes.

While my source specializes in only a few composers, I can unreservedly say he is a soundtrack god. I'm just glad I can help him reach a wider audience of fans and soundtrack collectors.

I’ve been playing this all afternoon and enjoying it immensely. This is a score I’ve wanted for ages. I was surprised there was over 70 minutes of music in the download - I didn’t remember there being that much score in the film, but there is. Actually, Fried wrote three types of music: straight score for the main story, background music for the TV soap that the Sister George character features in, and finally lots of source music for a couple of party scenes.

I skipped through the DVD and identified the tracks, which happen to be in film order - this also made it easy to guess where the few unused cues were supposed to play. Here’s the track listing:

1. Main Titles (2:32)
2. Childie's Place (1:50)
3. Soap Score: A Funeral (1:36)
4. Naughty Bit With Nuns (1:01)
5. Soap Score: Here Comes Sister George! (1:07)
6. An Act Of Contrition (1:28)
7. How To Eat A Cigar (2:07)
8. Making Up (1:42)
9. Soap Score: Sister George In The Pub (1:26)
10. Housekeeping Panic (0:45)
11. Soap Score: A Village Wedding (0:48)
12. Soap Score: Pearls Of Wisdom (0:29)
13. A Letter To The BBC (1:41)
14. Another Letter (0:30)
15. When We First Met (unused) (1:48)
16. I'm Afraid (1:32)
17. Lonely Night (1:00)
18. Gateways Club Source: Laurel & Hardy Routine (0:34)
19. Gateways Club Source: Marvellous Wig, Darling! (1:12)
20. Gateways Club Source: Roomful Of Rockin’ Lesbians (4:41)
21. Gateways Club Source: Slow Number For Sad News (3:42)
22. Gateways Club Source: Must Run, Have Fun! (5:25)
23. Soap Score: Hit By A Ten Ton Truck (1:02)
24. George's Drunken Death Scene (unused) (1:38)
25. Somewhere To Cry (3:29)
26. Leaving Party Source #1 (unused) (0:44)
27. Leaving Party Source #2 (unused) (0:33)
28. Leaving Party Source #3: A Future In Commercials (3:19)
29. Leaving Party Source #4: You Want Me To Play A Cow? (2:59)
30. Leaving Party Source #5: I Think Your Bird Has Flown (5:14)
31. Childie’s Dolls (3:40)
32. The Seduction Scene (5:41)
33. George Alone / "Moo!" (2:41)
34. End Titles (0:36)
35. Theme from The Killing Of Sister George (2:31) *

* This isn’t in the film - perhaps it was intended as Exit Music after the End Titles (Fried did the same with Too Late The Hero).

Thanks again to sadsack for this great share :)

35. Theme from The Killing Of Sister George (2:31) *
* This isn’t in the film - perhaps it was intended as Exit Music after the End Titles (Fried did the same with Too Late The Hero).

The tracks were put in order by slate call and/or comparing to the movie by the source.

The added end theme was the music for a possible pop song tie-in to popularize the film. The vocal track was found after the cd was mastered.

sadsack, thanks for this. I know nothing about Gerald Fried except that he wrote some of the best music for Trek, UNCLE and my favorite Mission Impossible version. Getting a chance to hear his other stuff is a real treat. Never did see Sister George back in the day so I know nothing about it at all. Except now I know that it has a terrific soundtrack. Your time and effort is very much appreciated!
