A few questions if I may : can you elaborate on your restoration ? Very curious about it :)
Also I have an alternate version of the score (also 128k from the early 2000's) that has 2 'Air Combat' cues + one titled 'The Aim'.... Are those blended into other cues in your version ?
Finally almost all timings are different from yours.
Way back when I also added the song from Aaron Neville since it really completes the score.

I has been a long time, but here goes from memory.

The 2 versions of this score that I have are, 128kbps 21 tracks (aka 128) & 320kbps 27 tracks (aka 320)

A random list of things I remember doing to it

#1 Song "Aquarius" left out due to personal taste (perhaps this was a bad call), I was not thinking of it as zimmer (although in hindsight it probably is his arrangement).

#2 Both versions never sounded quite right to me (pitch sounded to low), so comparing them to the movie I noticed that they where both to slow, so I increased the speed until it matched the film. (actually the only thing I did to effect the actual sound, besides fixing volume) (and in the process creating different track times for everything)

#3 Generally "128" version sounded better to my ears and tended to match the film better, so when ever possible it was used.

#4 "320" had a lot of unneeded redundancy, for example the track "The Character Themes" has "Main Theme" "Love Scene" & "Memories" in it, and not in film order.

#5 "Police Chase" is unused in the film. but there is a police chase with a song played during it, I played the track "Police Chase" over this spot of the film and it seemed to fit, so I put it there. (In my track 1:35 seems to match up with when the car was spinning)

#6 "Butch On Wheels" I do not think it was actually used in the film, I think it is the intro to "Aquarius (Let the Sunshine in)" song (as it is called on youtube) so I left it out.


2 'Air Combat' cues + one titled 'The Aim'.... Are those blended into other cues in your version ?

I am not sure where "The Aim" went, but I think it is in there somewhere. (sorry)

You have 2 "Air Combat" cues?
I do have "Air Combat" (128) 4:33 & "Air Combat" (320) 4:11


So in short the 3 things I did
Fixed pitch
Removed redundancy
Put in film order

My Air Combat#1 is 1:43, while #2 is 3:00 so I guess your Air Combat combines the two together.
So apart from the Neville song (isn't the one the reverse end credits called ''Bird On A Wire'' ?) I think your restoration will replace this old dl of mine !

Did you rip the film, and load it in a wave editor comparing it to my version?
(It was done a long time ago, I suppose it is possible I botched it)

You're welcome. Now, to your question-- The reason why I do believe that the pitch of your soundtrack is off because I have the original VHS tape of "Bird on a Wire". Secondly, a member of YouTube has the original BoaW film soundtrack. Each track sound exactly from the original film.
