Just wondering, did anyone actually find Eden that useful in the game? I got he/she/it(?) on disk 4 (very easy to get, u can draw it from Tiamat i think in U's Castle.) I tried to get it compatible with my party, but of course it starts at 300 with my 3 guys who are about 70 levels higher than the rest.(Squall, Irvine, and Zell) In the fight against the *Final Boss* I was able to use it once because of its horrible summon time, and then I tried to summon it again, but forgot that she kill summons instantly in her 3rd form. It did do 35000 damage, but I completely man-handled the final boss throughought the ENTIRE fight, using the triple-meteor and triple-aura combos. I only got hurt from her down to 1 hp attack. Any one else feel that Eden was reletivley useless too? (Cactuar is god of all GFs neway!)

i found basically all the GF's useless. I think Squall himself was better. But to answer ur question probably no. i think he was quite good

The only usefull one was Cerberus, just so I could cast triple and punish her with Aura and triple Meteor. AP ammo is sooo devastating. But yea, Eden was very powerful, but I didnt find it to be of much use in the end, like I thought it would be.

Well Doomtrain is Damn usefull (cuts defenses)
Eden, well you can cast it and boost it alllllll the way to 250 and do 25 000 - 40 000 dmge, but that's it .. all of us know that 1 Limit Break from Squall does more damage, and certainly if you get the Lion Heart Limit Break (200 000+)
But ..

Eden is usefull to cast because it buys you a lot time :
example fight Omega Weapon, use holy War and cast Eden .. while casting Eden, you don't boost, instead you try Selphie's Slot Limit Break for The End Magic and kill Omega Weapon with one move ..

Compatability problems :
I thought Chubby Chocobo gave 100 LuvLuvG 's that +20 compatibility to all GF .. you can use Card Mod him and win him back on the Ragnarok Disc 4 ..

Why draw it from Tiamat ?
Ultima Weapon ain't that hard ... the first time I played the game I tried 50 times and beat him .. without drawing Eden, what meant I tried it some 20 times more .. :)
Last week, I had more problems getting there than beating him. Yeah I had Lion Heart but I haven't used the Lion Heart Limit Break .. just cast Limit Break over and over while reviving
At 250 000 Max HP Ultima weapon wasn't that hard ..
Yes Phoenix had to save me once .. but we all get lucky sometimes :)

If u would have drawn eden from ultima weapon it would only be 30 levels behind and since it is the only gf the break damage limit it is very useful

as for compatability refine chubby chocobo for 100 luv luv g's and the win it back from either cc member in ragnarok or the card queen on disk 4 you can do this numorus times.and can be done with all cards including the ones only the card queen holds(doomtrain,pheonix,kiros,etc..)these wil all be played be cc member wether you did the queen quest or not.

my gf eden is at level 54 and does 41000 damage to omega weapon so it is very very handy

I Agree, but the attack of GF's isn't very much usefull
and btw I defeated Omega Weapon without Defend .. I used about 10 Holy Wars .. He didn't stand a chance (I'm still wondering why ?)

I was actualy talking about using them in battle, you would know that if you read what was being said...
and you can do plenty without card mod, its called playing the game and not just using your cards to get everything that you want, especially when you can only get a few items that are actually usefull in the game. You can get everything for the weapons without card mod. And statX4? You can beat him by junctioning pain and confuse to everyone. And dont complain about the berserk, cuz if your ppl are actually good, they can easily do 7500-9999 damage and kill it quick. And your team can do plenty fine w/o junctioning, all you do is not level up, and the enemys stay at weak levels no matter what.

i like never summon gfs except eden and other useful ones i just stick with good commands magic combos and my squalls kickass attack

GF's raise your stats, allow you to draw and use magic (exceptions are Selphie, Rinoa, and Quistis's limit breaks), and give you other abilities. Without them, a human is obsolete.
When summoned, they are obsolete compared to using Aura on a character and using limit breaks.
There are only two reasons I use GFs in battle:
1. To absorb damage.
2. Some of their animations are pretty cool-looking (Shiva is the most beautiful).

What is Eden anyway?

My guess is that it's some kind of bio-computer in the Earth's core managing gravity, the life cycle, weather, etc. (anyone who has played the RPG "Septerra Core" knows what I'm talking about.)

You can actually get eden earlier in the game from the ultima weapon and then it is very useful infact they all are until you get the ultimate weapons but they are still useful espcially eden cuz he can break the damage limit but i only use them for there techiniques more than there attacks in the end.

Meh, actually even before you get the weapons theyre not that useful, because I had Squall at max attack when he had the twin lance or w/e.

Lets spark something new, how often did you use your GFs in boss/regular battles, other than when you were at level like 10 and had decent magic to junction? Because for example, after I realized that I would be able to do twice the damage by just using attack because my speed let me attack at such an accelerated rate, the GFs became completely obsolete to me.

Well indeed I didn't use it much too ... Usually Squall can better strike than summon a GF. BUt you're not fighting alone with Squall. I usually attacked with 2 of the 3 characters, and the third summon a GF until I could junction Str of course ..

Well I used them first time I played but the second time around I knew what I had to do etc...

i only managed to use eden once when i tried to kill ultimecia i mean he's really strong he just took ages to go down the gauge (i got him from tiamat) but he's really strong which is good :)

damn, got me before i even had a chance to attack but i think i made my point before i feel no need to repeat that.

when i train my gfs i do it so they learn gf attack power x 30% as soon as i can, then i use em over and over (theyre so strong!!!) till i get compatiblilty wit then way high, and by that time, i leveled up enuff to start attacking physical (theyre so weak!!!) my perfect strategy

Yea, same here spermking, once I got the compatibility up, I was able to thouroughly demolish anything in my way w/ physical attacks...exept Omega weapon who cheats and absorbs my physicals...

Going off my own topic for just a sec, does Omega absorb all elements, or basic physical attacks in general, because my Renzokuken and stuff still works, so Im guessin its just elemental, but just curious.

you probably have FIRE elemental magic junctioned to your elemental attack, Omega absorbs fire (i found that out the hard way when i unloaded Irvines "Fireshot" limit break bullets, healing him ALOT)

Me personally, i dont use elemental attack junction, most monsters are resistent to or absorb some type of element and it is safer for me to leave elem- atk- J unused unless im planning to fight a specific monster with a certain weakness i KNOW i can take advantage of

un- juntion any fire magic from your elemental attack

I actually dont have fire junctioned, but I checked GameFAQs and he absorbs all elemental...(Bastard!) O well, as long as I find a way to survive Terra Break ill be perfectly fine, Limits dont use elements (unless you use fire shot like you did), so ill just go back to my bread and butter: auto-haste, aura, limit break combo.

And....back to the first topic!

i didnt kno he asorbed ALL elemental, maybe cause my elemenal attack junctions are purposefully left empty

im so proud, i just beat him last night, finally all my hard work paid off

for terra break, u should have the Defend ability, catuar and the brothers have it, it reduces Terra Break damage to 0,

protect is a waste of a turn, dont be bothered with it. u can use hero's and holy wars to make your characters invincible for a few turns but I consider that taking the easy way out.

eden is opposite to all the other gfs coz the more you use it the less compatibility you have with it and i agree gfs are pretty useless in battles

I found GFs to be very useful. Well, the support type GFs. Carbuncle, Cerberus, and Doomtrain are the only GFs I ever found useful. I like Alexander, but even he wasn�t as useful as the supporters. Even though Eden is powerful, all your characters should be strong enough to take care of any enemy by the time you get him/her. By the way, what gender is Eden? Is it a man, a woman, or should we even ask?

I found GF's were only good for junctioning same as magic i only ever used triple and aura and some times meltdown the kamikaze command was much better than eden against single monsters as it done 60'000 odd damage at the loss of 1 character most things are dead after that but if not u just make sure your other characters are fully equiped to deal with that kind of situation at the end of the 3rd cd when you fight mobile type 8 then seifer then at the start of cd 4 adel i killed them all in one hit with the kamikaze command.

I didnt even get eden or use gf's on ultimecia for that matter i beat her just using physical attacks because the way i look at it because she is a mage shel be weak against physical attacks so i owned her doing that but the only thing i used on gfs was the juction system i never use them in battle.
