Well then. This was all I needed to see to get me to see the film:

Yep, I definitely want to watch it much more now. I also like how it takes place during World War I, that adds on to it a little bit for me.

I had heard and read very good things about the score, and since I already really like Egyptian / middle eastern music, I thought hell yeah.
I'm glad in every way, because it's one of the best scores I've ever heard, and now I'm seeking out different recordings, because there are a lot of them.... :p

It's a classic, in the same veins as Gone With the Wind and Ben-Hur. I've never been fond of old-fashioned orchestral music, but LoA is something else to me. However, it doesn't really have an Egyptian/middle-eastern sound. Very orchestral.

I only ever listen to the version that came with the Blu-ray (Thread 165837), which includes unreleased music. I don't like the re-recording. I want the legit thing or nothing at all.

Hmm, I thought it did. Of course it has an orchestral sound, there's not a doubt, but I thought the percussion in some of the tracks, the main theme, it seemed like that to me. :p
