In honor of Sir Peter O'Toole, who passed away last night at the age of 81.

This disc came with my 50th Anniversary Blu-ray Box Set. I believe it is the original soundtrack, save for 2 tracks which are marked as previously unreleased. I've been meaning to post this since I got it just over a year ago, but I kept forgetting. So it seems like a good time to share now more than ever. I'm not big on old-time scores, but Maurice Jarre really blew me away with this one, and I can say it's one of my favorite film scores ever. I hope you all enjoy it. Rest in peace, Sir Peter O'Toole

1.) Overture [1m00] (4:15)
2.) Main Title [1m01] (1:54)
3.) We Need A Miracle [6m01-7m01] (3:06)
4.) In Whose Name Do You Ride? (1:22)
5.) That is the Desert (2:09)
6.) Nefud Mirage [8m02] (2:21)
7.) The Sun's Anvil (3:10)
8.) Lost in the Desert (2:09)
9.) Bringing Gasim into Camp [9m02] (3:34)
10.) Arrival at Auda's Camp [11m01] (1:59)
11.) The Voice of the Guns (1:58)
12.) Entr'Acte* (4:15)
13.) Continuation of the Miracle (2:15)
14.) Lawrence's Bodyguard (2:05)
15.) End Credits
16.) Exit Music* (2:37)

*Previously Unreleased

A great actor, and a great rebel rouser, has passed. There'll be far fewer of these giants in the future.

This is the first I'd heard of his passing. He was REAL actor. A great loss to that profession!

50th anniversary (51st this year), and still no expanded release of this ACADEMY AWARD winning score??? There must be some really tough legal issues with this one... :o

Nevertheless, thanks for this great share!!!

You would think, but nope. I thought the same thing with last year being the 100th Anniversary of The Titanic AND 15th Anniversary of the film, but all we got was a 3D re-release. I have come to expect jack shit from the studios anymore.

Still missing... :(

The final file size is 207MB.

Are you, by any chance, using any "unusual" character in the file's names, other than regular letters and numbers? ZIP tends to simply wipe out files with "different" characters...

I had an asterisk* next to the two tracks that are labeled as such on the insert inside the Blu-ray. That's fucking retarted. I'll re-up

NefMor

@Trimmo you are mistaken, track 4 is there. Either use the latest winrar / winzip, or simply delete / rename "?" from the end of the name of track 4 before extract. That should do it.

Thanks NefMor. The track was invisible in the software I was using (?!?).

NefMor

Trimmo as i have written previosuly, your unpacker might be confused by "?" at the end of title. Resulting unpack / recognize problems. Most actual ones does not have problem. Using actual winrar you will be able to unpack track 4 without any problem.

I have the 2 CDs edition, I want to hear how it sounds with this one. The Prague philamornic usually goes heavy on the percussions.

I gotta say this soundtrack is marvelous. I'm listening to it right now as I write.. and I'm getting so many memories of the Overture.. You see, I had the luck that I went to see Lawrence of the Arabia for the first time ever in my life.. in a great marvelous cinema in Barcelona, made for true cinematic lovers.. in 4K, in the big screen, in English. I recall it with lot of joy - entering the cinema halls which were beautiful.. but most importantly, going in to see the movie.. I recall hearing the Overture blast in (the volume was very loud and the surround is one of the best I've ever heard so far in my life).. and listening to the wonderful soundtrack is making me recall the wonderful experience that it was, hearing the great music of the Overture in expectance of what was to come, then the red curtains opened up slowly, like they used in the last century.. and then.. the Main Titles began!

I repeat, it was a marvelous experience, a gorgeous movie and I consider myself very lucky of having seen it for the first time ever in this quality. Big screen, marvelous 4K picture quality, and immersive surround. I hope sometime in my life I'll come back to that great cinema again.

I am picking this up. Thank you for the share, DAK.
