The answer seems simple enough: mix the missing session cues with the official expanded CD cues to make it more complete. The leveling will most likely be off but we've got folks here to fix that problem.

I am beyond excited for this (score AND film). However I'm slightly put off by the fact that it's $20 for the film. They don't need to charge that much for a film they have already released and made money off of. I already payed full price for the regular DVD, I don't want to pay that much for a few extra scenes... So I don't know if I'm actually going to buy it. If it was 10-12 bucks I'd be buying it without a doubt...

I dont understand how The Last Stand can be anybody's favorite. The franchise went to shit after Bryan Singer left to do Superman Returns (with the exception of First Class, which is actually really good). The Last Stand and X-Men Origins: Wolverine were absolute garbage. Even The Wolverine sucked IMO. Thank God Singer returned for DoFP and now all the shitty films don't matter, cause they're non-existent with the new timeline.

You say it's your favorite. To each his own, I guess.

X Men Last Stand is one of my favorite because of the excellent score !! John Powell composed a such epic music with some powerfull themes... Phoenix theme is just amazing ! Especially for the final scene when Jean Grey distroyes...everything !! :) of course its my opinion.
For the story, I agree this third movie is not the most interesting. X Men First Class is brilliant !

Yeah, i would say that to those that could present an actual coupy of the first release, there would be a refund or like we get the film for half the price (at most). I mean, come on! Many movies present BOTH versions at no extra cost. How about THAT, Peter Jackson ;)

That sounds like a good idea. If they wanted to do that though, they would have released both versions at the same time. Then you could buy whichever one you wanted. A casual fan could buy the normal version, and the more hard core fan could pay a few extra bucks for the special edition (which does include the theatrical version as well btw). They did it this way to get people to spend full price twice.

I'm hoping they add the scenes in the trailers that weren't actually in the movie, like Quicksilver's sister (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wJpWvYlq7a0&t=0m22s) or when Mystique sneaks into the mansion (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pGZ1ds_5q-E&t=1m12s).

I can't stand it when they put stuff in trailers that isn't actually in the film, unless it's clearly meant to be intended for the trailer only.

Not necessarily. From what I've heard they didn't start putting the new cut together until after the film was released on Blu-Ray. Just like with The Hobbit/LOTR, it's something done as an extra after the original cut has been released on DVD/Blu-Ray. It wasn't a quick grab to make money. A new cut is not simply putting deleted scenes back in. It's putting them in the right place and at the same time preserving the films dramatic flow. I've heard from several sources that the Rogue Cut is like the extended editions of the LOTR films. It puts scenes in that greatly change the rest of the film, I'm hearing reports there's a sequence where Mystique accepts Xavier's offer to return home before the final battle, in which Mystique interacts with Charles, Logan and Hank which will greatly change parts of the movie. A new cut is not just putting scenes back in. As I said, it can greatly change a movie. Look at Daredevil. It's theatrical cut is terrible, but the directors cut is a legitimately good film as it restores a cut subplot and fleshes out the characters a little more. Same for the Ghost Rider director's cut and the Desolation of Smaug extended edition. We're not just getting an extended cut of the film, we're possibly getting a cut of the film with an entirely different dramatic flow and theme.

Plus they did announce another cut of the film would be available at a later date before they released the DVD/Blu-Ray. This isn't like the extended cut of The Wolverine, which was the original cut of the film before the studio trimmed it down to get a PG-13. This cut had several scenes that were unfinished requiring extensive post production work on them, as the Rogue scenes were cut during production (like The Hobbit/LOTE, not post production requiring them to be finished with CGI and editing.

Usually unavoidable sadly if it's a big movie like this where changes are being made all the time right until the last minute. The final cut is often not locked down until a matter of days before the premiere for big movies like this so the marketing team can't be blamed if they use a scene in the marketing that's cut at a later date. For example, the marketing for The Hobbit used footage from Bilbo exploring Rivendell, a sequence that Peter Jackson was undecided on if he should cut it or not before ultimately deciding to cut it pretty late on, after most of the trailers had been released. In fact, if rumours are to be believed, Jackson was still making changes to the film on the day of the premiere (the closing shot of Smaug was finished on the day of the premiere too). Ultimately the marketing team just use the finished footage they have with no idea if it may be cut at a later date.

Well, there is a way to buy the Rogue Cut while paying the price of the theatrical cut. It's sneaky, wrong and risky, but it's possible. And it's easier if you own the theatrical cut, which it sounds like you do. I've done this sort of thing before, many times. But if you have a conscience and morals, leave them at the door before stepping into my office.

There is one cue that I think crossfades - if I remember correctly, there are a few seconds of the "unused" version of "Time's Up" before transitioning into the film version.

But otherwise I'll believe you. Then again, maybe the Rogue Cut will combine cues...

Singer seems to respect the fans and takes the X-Men seriously. As does Jackman. I tip my hat to them for that. Sure, I understand how some people can look at superheroes and relegate them to "guys in long underwear." To me, comic book heroes fulfill the same function as the stories of the Greek, Roman or Norse gods and monsters: they exemplify the best and worst human traits played across a huge stage.

ROUGE CUT IS NOT WHAT YOU THINK. I was at a panel where they were discussing this and the explained its an entirely different movie, not only does it has Rouge's footage but other scenes as well, they even reditited the movie in a new way. It's not double dipping its an entirely new movie!

ostgems
07-12-2015, 02:27 PM
the rouge cut is NOT an entirely new movie. the re-insertion of rouge just fills some major plot holes, like how the sentinels can absorb the powers of the mutants and how they find the location of the hideout.

the rouge cut is defiantly the version fans should have.

Plus the Rogue Cut adds some character to Blink, Warpath, Sunspot and Bishop which they sorely lacked in the original cut (in fact I don't think Blink had any lines in the original cut).

Well, the Rogue material alone is worth it, even if it isn't complete. I love this score and the fact that we're getting more gets me giddy.

Actually, having seen it! It doesn't add anything to the film. It just makes it longer. It does ad some stuff to supporting characters. But the whole thing with Rogue. Really adds nothing. They find where she is. Get her. She is taken back. Touches Kitty. And takes over. That's it! They could have kept it the way it was and just add the extra scenes with the supporting mutants.

I do not want to get in any kind of shit for this, I'm just acknowledging that I like others do have it and am willing to share an external link, and not post it on here, So thanks for letting me know, I just want to know if I can or will I get terminated if I do so lol :)

at this point you cannot share it on here. this includes creating a thread and saying "send me a pm if you want it". the possible troubles aren't worth it... not for you or the forum in general.

at least this is until the admins say "go a head" ... until then just enjoy the album yourself and stay out of trouble.

but i bet one or two people (cough cough tapotkro or konio) wont give a shit and share it in the next few days.

fair enough i'll just keep it to myself, to avoid any harm, thanks for informing me. I'm sure it will turn up eventually. I just wish I knew who the admin was so I know when he says its okay. But its all good :)

There's more than one place to pirate music.

You can keep track in this thread for music not to post publicly:
Thread 49829

Look for posts by either Sarah or Jessie.

Locking this thread, too, to prevent any further patronizing of other members.

The current status of the retail Rogue Cut is being investigated.

Covers scans exist?

No. There hasn't even been a CD release yet.

Spotify link: http://open.spotify.com/album/5BvsSE7Otlmcd524THPIWF

You'll probably need Premium but it's worth it for all the benefits, like a full range of albums that aren't available on the free version, offline mode, desktop application, etc. USD price is regularly $11.99 but if you're a student then you can sign up for $4.99 and that lasts a year I think.

If you haven't tried Spotify (free/premium) then you're missing out. Pandora, TuneIn Radio and iHeart Radio have nothing on Spotify.

Nevermind. Seems like there isn't one. So much for trying to find it lossless...

I think Qobuz has it in lossless.

How does one buy from Qobuz? It keeps telling me that I need to wait for when it officially comes out for the USA.

Probably a proxy/VPN that gives an IP for the country where it is selling will get you it.
Or collaberate with someone from that country where it is available.

The funny thing is that I can easily bypass that pop up, but I haven't actually tried to make an account. It wouldn't be like buying from Amazon UK, would it?

Even if you make an account to bypass the pop-up, you can add it to your basket for purchase, but they won't let you pay for it.

Copyright & licenses prevent them from letting you buy it with your current country's IP address.

I, from Canada, tried it with some digital sales sites.

Digital sales sites let you look, but whether or not you can buy, it depends on the release.

Indeed. I tried purchasing The Man Machine from there and gave me that "not available in your country" spiel. Oh well.

I have found it on the Tidal Shop. Tidal seems to be the American version of Qobuz.

And only $21.59 for FLAC. I wouldn't pay that for a retail CD.

... But still, I'm totally tempted.

They're indicators as to what film reel the cue would go on, and what number cue it would be on that reel.
