I'm a far bigger fan of the film than the score on its own, but the score does indeed work, and work very well.

It just seemed to be the same two elements for the most part - solo piano, and massive drum ensemble. It does work in context, but it's never been something I've really been able to enjoy much on its own. This is now an opportunity for me (personally speaking) to marry the two like I've done with other scores. I get a much better appreciation for them that way.

It'll probably be like those two missing cues from "Batman Begins", much talked-about, never heard. It's been a few years and they've never surfaced (unless they did 'behind the scenes' long ago but none of us knows about that )

Junkie XL worked with the General Zod material. That's why he started to make solo scores.

And unless my head wasn't screwed on too tight, No actual cues from within the film are missing. When I purchased this, I immediately started a "film mix" and crossfaded the cues / overlapped them where necessary by using the Blu-ray audio. Source cues are missing, the most prominent one being 4m21s You Are Not Alone, which is actually "Man In Da Bomb Suit" from The Hurt Locker. It's the eerie piece that you hear during Zod's broadcast on the TV. To my knowledge, no inserts are missing (which is unusual for a Zimmer score, then again INTS has no inserts) and we even have the film version of First Flight sans vocals. However, I've heard the real thing is much larger

Same. That's why I don't hear Zimmer's music on CD until I watch the films. He's one of the worst on arranging his music into commercial releases. Same with mixes (him and JNH seems to ruin their well written material with over the top synth and drum samples and drowned orchestra and choir).

I would say Clark's theme is probably my favorite. I made myself a massive suite that runs 30:17 (I wanted to outdo Zimmer's), but this was back in May, long before I had the complete score. So I only had the OST material to work with. And it was mostly Clark's theme that I used. You should whip up a Clark suite utilizing the complete score

There are people on this forum who would have indulged in a private gloat over owning this score and not sharing it or tried to barter for other rare soundtracks. (When I saw this thread I thought this was another one of those "oh no, here-we-go-again" threads that would result in a dead end.)

This is one of my favorite Zimmer scores and you have made my week. (Just out of curiosity was it money or your obvious passion for his music that swayed Zimmer? I am fascinated by how certain creative minds work.)

It's because the files end with a question mark and they become corrupt and don't download. It's so fucking stupid. I'll fix it.

At me seems also some files corrupt but other�s, No. 4, 8, 14, 24, 35, 39, 41. The name�s are in the *zip, but without tracknumber, and they cannot be extracted.

I have no problems with the download and it came out PERFECT!!!!! BTW, HG64 on YouTube have uploaded the Man of Steel complete score!

I used the MEGA link and they all seem fine to me. My machine just replaced the question marks with underscores.

I read an error when i was downloading these tracks, but it sounds good, Anybody knows what is the folder called something like ''Macox''?? and why appears that "message error" in the zip archive

Same. That's why I don't hear Zimmer's music on CD until I watch the films. He's one of the worst on arranging his music into commercial releases. Same with mixes (him and JNH seems to ruin their well written material with over the top synth and drum samples and drowned orchestra and choir).

but why i had the same message error but i could extract all the tracks without any problem, and all the files are perfect. I downloaded from Sendspace yesterday. i think that everybody downloaded the files without any problem even with that "message error"

Ok, just repair the archive using winrar, treat as zip. wait for rebuilt.yaddayadda.zip. extract and viola.

Here's my MoS extraction story, in case it helps anyone.
When my JDownloader2 download completed, and the folder extracted automatically, tracks 4, 8, 14, 24, 35, 39, 41 had issues. 0 bytes for each file.
Then I extracted the zipped folder again, with WinRar, and all files were in the folder. And life was super.

I do clearly hear that around the 5:00 mark, though the album version is ingrained into my head now, so I kinda prefer that one

Why they felt that an alternate version was a better choice for the OST is a complete mystery. Whatever alternate version it is, it's nowhere near as good as the film version. No strings at the beginning?? No spine-tingling vocals?? What the dickens was wrong with them??
