Gowcaizer is one game to be said, not for everyone, specially with the questionable character design of Masami Obari. This is not quite the best fighting game I ever played, but it was one of the games back in the days that I used to play a lot. I don't hate it, and I don't love it. Let say... So-So.
My favorite character of all is Kyosuke Shigure, and I did had fun also playing with Brider, the sentai guy, voiced by Masami Obari himself. This game is weird, with weird plot, and other weirdness mixed in it. I found it incredibly useless the fact that some characters have weapons, like Fudomaru, but never use it. At least, I never saw him using it. Is there a super special button combination to make him draw his sword? I don't know.
The soundtrack, is indeed one of my favorites on the neo geo. But... I don't get why in this arranged soundtrack they used so much vocals in it. :( I get that the production was indeed serious in making this merchandise as ridiculous as they could do, but some tracks lost the magic of the original versions in here. Now the instrumental arranged tracks (no vocals at all) were beautifully and amazingly astonishing. Take "W.JUNGLE (Platonic Twins Theme)" or "KENGORYTHM (Last Boss Ohga Theme)" as an example. These 2 are on of the few that really surpassed the original sound version of the original Neo Geo version.
The vocal songs, are not bad at all, and I am not trying that I hate the vocal tracks. I am just saying, they killed the magic of the original tracks. Like the Hellstinger Theme or even Shaias' Theme :/
Still the soundtrack is worth checking and collecting. I would not think otherwise and had all this work to share it. :p
The bonus package inside, I think it is the best package I done so far (except my Project Zero rips). :D
