This rip was painful to go through so thank goodness this is the end of the LoS series. Not much of a fan of the sequel's music; the orchestral songs are really forgettable and the digital battle themes ("Chaotic Battle" specifically) are about as good as it's going to get here.

Well, enjoy!

Thanks for this. I already did my own soundtrack but I will check yours for your " pro rip". It get me a while and many listens to like the soundtrack, but overall, it's almost on par with the first one. But, sure it's different but it add variety. Anyway, thanks for yours rip.

I also know why he does so. It just boggles my mind, even after BiilionU started going TITS-UP, he still uses it.
Most times, uploaders on FFshrine will change filehosters that are not very retention friendly. I guess its because
of the payout download statistics structure of BU.

DAMN!!!! Really....? Already?

Thank you very much. Love the cover.
Though... I like this soundtrack much more then the first game. For nothing is memorable there... now that I think about... The memorable music in this one are the new arranges of Mirror of Fate tracks... Which honestly was the game that had tunes that got stuck in my mind. Other then that, yeah, the new LOS2 music is not that memorable.

But Hunter & Prey. Oh God!!

I gave it a brief listen and it seems you missed some cues and misnamed some other ones. Namely you changed names of the tracks that have official OST representations or even split them into separate cues.
Example of cues you missed, 0.7 the paladin of god (ii)_e3_1 is supposed to be intro to Paladin fight, but you didn't incorporate it into the cue.

Oh I was interested, I hadn't gone into most of the songs at the time and I didn't know how far down the ditch the game would go either.

Well look on the bright side... no password protected RARs. :)

That Billionuploads security check just happened today. It's not my choice and there aren't many sites that have the speed, upload size limit, and lack of forced premium crap. I also use MEGA but only to archive the extremely large rips that aren't getting much traffic anymore. (Only have a 50GB limit and that's pretty much filled)

I know why he does it, it's to prevent files being deleted. Still I don't use any security measures for my MEGA links and none of them have been disabled to this day.

I used to use Mediafire a few years ago without taking any precautions to not inconvenience downloaders and I had lost a lot of my music rips when my account was taken down. So now I do this to inconvenience those who just click to DMCA and stop bots. (I think MEGA functions against the latter)

Thanks man!!! Personally love Oscar's work, but that's what makes people interesting: Varied opinions. Thanks again good sir!

I liked his work in LOS1 with "The Ice Titan", "Journey", "The Warg", "Castle Hall", and "Final Confrontation" to name a few. With LOS2, its seems like he's run out of steam at least with exclusively orchestral music.

I didn't misname cues, I instead chose to rename those that seemed unfitting. With this OST it looks like most of the songs were named after what was put on them in the game rip whether it was relevant or not unlike with LOS so I decided to change some of them. That cue is incorporated into the next track "Prayer". Also I didn't include "City of Flames" because it is "Gabriel's Farewell" from Mirror of Fate.

It's a cheap cover but thanks anyway, Orie. :D

"Raisa Volkova" is "Hunter & Prey part 2".

Sure it is Gabriel's Farewell, but only on the OST. Ingame MoF version of that track was synth and thus different. Besides there are other cues that seem to be missing, or even repeat (Leviathan is the same as Titanic Battle).
And then you included stuff like Legacy of the Belmonts which I'm 100% sure I heard in LoS1.
Same goes for Satan's Arrival.

I used the OSTs version of "Gabriel's Farewell" in my MOF rip. I believe with "Legecy of the Belmonts" and "Satan's Arrival", it's a merge of different cues from LOS1 and new small nuances. "The Leviathan" you mean is similar to "The Siege Titan" and there is a difference; the latter lacks the choir.

It's just my opinion, so don't crucify me.
Why not... put all the music of the game, instead of choosing which stays and which not?
I prefer to have a complete ost then missing music. I do understand !!!!! when not putting tracks that were already released in previous installments, but for me a soundtrack is not complete at all if it's missing cues.
Like when you did not included the vampire killer music box. it's damn little in length? yes it is, but it's in the game, so why not include it in you rip?

You do your rips the way you want. I am not complaining of your work, because I know it takes a much time to get right. It's your way of doing it, your vision in how it must be perfected the way you want and how you want it to offer to us. And Praise of you will get for sure. I just personally think that if you, or anyone else, or even I, going to make a rip of the soundtrack of a game, I keep all musical cues in it. I might not like track X in my gamerip, but other people might like that track.
Got my point?

Pretty sure that the MoF release of yours that I have uses gamerip Gabriel's Farewell and other tracks, not the OST ones. Did you later change it and replace tracks with the OST ones? That's a bad move in my opinion.

I just went on listening (unless I have a old gamerip or maybe the first) and, no he did replace it. Plus, I think he would not do that. The composing differs from the gamerip to the released ost ones.

Andrees

Well he said he didn't include City in Flames in this LoS2 rip because it's identical to the MoF OST version of Gabriel's Farewell (but not the gamerip version which uses synth) and he already included it in his MoF release. If he didn't then I'm further puzzled why he refuses to include it here.

Also shameless advertising, I've uploaded the LoS2 Director's Cut OST.

I went to the ogg rip (since I have this still downloading since he posted it.) and the track "City in Flames" look exactly the same as Gabriel Farewell ost version. At least at first hearing it sounds equal. I do get why he took it out of this rip, but I think I should still be here.
For example naming the track to "City in Flames (Gabriel's Farewell)". Or the tracks that are equal put it as last in the cd list and make it bonus track. I am not telling him how to do it better. Just giving ideas that are popping out of my head.

I just updated the LOS rip with the music box song. When I first ripped the game's music, I didn't know how to properly rip the music box theme, different directory and all.

Yeah, I updated it. Wait the game version is different from the MOF soundtrack? Thought it was a quality difference not a completely different arrangement. Can you send me the gamerip version of the song?

Andrees
02-25-2014, 01:56 AM
All the MoF tracks are completely different, how could you not notice? The game uses synthesized instruments, while for OST they made new arrangements with actual orchestra.
I really would like you to redo the MoF one with just gamerip music and don't shoehorn the OST into it, at least not by replacing the ingame synth tracks.

If possible I also ask you to reconsider and restore the missing cues to the LoS2 RIP. Also feel free to update some tracks with better quality ones from the LoS2 DC OST I just posted.
I don't have MoF installed anymore however so I can't rip the music again for you...

Yep, this one has the original gamerip-based synth tracks. I do not comprehend why you swapped them for the OST ones !!!!! since they are different tracks. MoF gamerip = synth, MoF OST = orchestra.
If you want to make a "complete" MoF release, include both the gamerip synth and OST orchestral tracks.
Not to mention in my opinion some of the tracks sound much better in synth.
Also the one uploaded by Orie is an older version with misnamed tracks (Ovens, Exploration (Unused), Combatant (Unused) and so on).
Here's the last version you made !!!!! that still had only the original gamerip synth tracks.
https://mega.co.nz/#!aY5ynBQa!bYx0zzkQExObGkKbMH4wbXooQuYeiJjv4lH9fFq z0cI

And please do not delete the Trevor's Farewell this time (there are 2 tracks, Trevor and Trevor's Farewell, don't delete either of them since they differ), since you deleted that from your latest version (the one in which you replaced the synth tracks with OST orchestral ones).
I recommend just adding the OST orchestral tracks to this and retagging the names of the synth ones to match the OST ones, as well as add ~Orchestral~ or something to the OST ones to differentiate between them.
Yeah I'm one picky bastard.

And I thought I was the only one feeling that. Glad to see I am not alone in that view. I don't like the Official release. It's like the great tracks in synth died on the official release. Some of my favorite tracks have a great power on composition, which in the orchestral version the power was lost. And honestly I can't enjoy the orchestral version that much.

Hmmm... I thought the tracks from the game had such poor conversion quality that the OST songs sound different though the OST tracks are poorly mastered. Final Fight on both sounds sampled to me as well as the other boss fights.

and I noticed that in the MOF rip (http://forums.ffshrine.org/f72/castlevania-lords-shadow-mirror-fate-~-expanded-163553/) tracklist I have lesser tracks. I did went there much and saw the updates.

Andrees

It's not the conversion quality. MoF was made before they started recording LoS2 music in Bratislava and so they used synthesized samples when including the music in MoF. Then when they were recording LoS2, they recorded MoF OST as well in Bratislava because people were barraging David Cox on twitter with questions about MoF soundtrack. I can vouch that they are different, and anyone who listens to them should have no problems realizing that. It's a pity that you thought the OST was sampled as well. If you still are feeling like it, please do make a final revision of your MoF release to include all the gamerip and ost tracks, it's the only way it can truly be complete.
As for LoS2, restore the cues you missed or omitted on purpose :)

Are you implying that i'm deaf and have a grudge against Oscar Araujo not using an orchestra for the old game music and that each cue I purposely omit secretly makes me happy inside? :p

Seriously ATM I'm reuploading MoF with both versions of the OST songs.

UPDATE: Added and edited the OST tracks. "Satan" has been merged with "Finale."

Well I didn't mean to be well, mean. I am just genuinely surprised how could anyone listen to both the synth and OST versions and think they aren't different arrangements. Some of the tracks are quite different even in rhythm, like the Carousel track which is definitely slower in the OST version in addition to having an actual intro part.
Again, I didn't mean anything bad with that. Just trying to make objective criticism. Sorry if I'm a pain in the arse, but I'm just a perfectionist when it comes to those matters. Some may even call it autistic obsession, not that I care.

Still, much appreciated that you decided to release new version with both game synth originals and the OST orchestral versions, it's for the best. While Orie already said that, I think that removal of any cues should never take place, even if you think they are pointless to include or don't like them. For example in my release of KotOR soundtracks I included as many cutscene tracks despite them having some sfx and being lower quality, because I tried to make it as complete as possible. The only tracks I didn't include are some other cutscene ones infested with so much SFX you can't even make out the music or it's barely there.
Oh and my Diablo 3 OST release also happens to feature 2 tracks that originally came from World of WarCraft's Burning Crusade actually, but they are reused in Diablo 3.
The devil lies in details.

I was joking, Andrees. I think I remember replacing all of the tracks because I just compared the Mirror of Fate title theme because that particular song sounded the same and just assumed the others were the same and didn't look back. Fixed that issue eariler.

no. was your file downloaded with the correct MB? because sometimes it finishes the download, wrongly and with less MB then the original MB. And that makes it missing a file or 2 sometimes.-

An exceptionally good soundtrack. Mr Araujo just came out of nowhere (it seemed) back in 2010 and he hasn't stopped impressing me since.
Even though I bought the director's cut release, I'm glad I have the full one now. Thanks for the effort.

Thank you for the score and investing so much effort into it!!! But there is one piece of music I still didn't find anywhere on any of the tracks released so far and that is the music played during VGA trailer. Any ideas?

That is the track "Clash in the City of the Damned", although very different and missing the choir, and yeah, it's not in the this rip.
Why?0.o

Here you have it anyway, from the pc rip I have

good thing I still have the pc rip. I still find strange of why not including ALL music from the game.
