Lately I have been ranting a lot about this issue of game soundtracks being released like this. It is starting to grow rage on me. I so need to kill some Draculas.

When I first heard Lord of shadows OST limited edition I was very disappointed and I disliked the music. So I deleted it from my computer. After playing Mirror of Fate, and started to have a considerable opinion and liking in Oscar Araujo, I am going to try this one again. And see, if I still dislike it.

In my opinion LoS soundtrack is much better than MoF soundtrack when it comes to emotional tunes, MoF has better atmospheric tunes (though LoS also has a couple of amazing ones, such as Waterfalls of Agartha which actually a remake of Waterfalls theme from Super Castlevania IV).

Yes there's more, Vampire Killer appears as the Music Box theme (I noticed that !!!!!'s gamerip lacks the track actually). Final Confrontation is a remake of Prologue and Dracula's Room from Super Catlevania IV. I believe there was another one I can't remember off the top of my head now.

Super castlevania 4 is one of my favorite castlevania soundtracks :) now I am curious ;)

LoS was mostly inspired by Super CV4. Not just the music, but everything about it except separation of platforming from combat. In fact, the game originally started as yet another Castlevania 1 remake (just like Super CV4 was a remake of it), but was changed into it's own thing.

Gabriel < Zobek < Satan < Satan with God Mask < Gabriel = WTF?!!!

I thought Gabriel being revived made him undead, which would have made for an unexpected twist... that is until the DLC came out and fucked the potential pf that one up. Oh and stories predetermined by fate always suck.

I couldn't rip Vampire Killer because it's sequenced. Didn't know Final Confrontation was made up of old songs.

I thought it was more inspired by God of War, the whip acting like the Chain blades, the fixed camera angles, the many, many, many QTEs, getting magic and health items hidden within the stages to raise each bar, etc.

Actually, it was inspired by Lament of Innocence, Rygar (the game God of War blatantly ripped off, but since it had little to no marketing, GoW takes all the praise) and Super CV4. And the QTEs are just a cancer of modern gaming and I'm glad the devs listened to the hardcore audience and decided to drop the stupid handholding and QTEs in MoF HD and LoS2.
As for Vampire Killer, it's not really sequenced, it's just a midi. I was able to rip it. Been 2 years since I did though so I don't exactly remember the tools used other than QuickBMS and proper scripts to extract the files. Took me a lot of tinkering.

Good news, I have received an updated script that unpacks all files properly thus giving me the last remaining piece of music I couldn't extract before, a 5 minute long throne room theme (different than the one in the screencap from earlier, as that one is a cutscene variant). Thus I will be able to release it soon.

Why it doesn't come in loseless format?

Because the distributor (Sumthing.com) only sells it in MP3.

since nobody seems to have the lossless version of the directors cut i stopped at sumthing.com but couldn't find any info about the file format :S

I absolutely love the soundtracks of the Castlevania Trilogy, and having the director's cut IN FLAC? Just a dream come true!

When checking the files for their spectrum with the software "Spectro" though, I noticed something odd.
All your .flac files have above .mp3 Average bitrates.
But for some of the files, namely
"Besieged Village, The Warg, Hunting Path, The Dead Bog, The Swamp Troll, Waterfalls of Agharta, Agharta, Cornell, Maze Gardens, Castle Hall, The Evil Butcher, Carmilla, The God Mask, Belmont's Theme, Final Confrontation, Ascension"
The shown spectrum doesn't match the average bitrate at all. Which absolutely confuses me. What does that mean?

Both spectrums cut off at 16kHz which would indicate a 128 kbps audio file. Yet the average bitrate is still calculated to be way way higher than that.
Any idea what could have caused this? For some reason all files past "23 Dungeon.flac" are absolutely fine in that regard. No cut-off whatsoever.

Yep it's quite weird.
Like you said, a bunch of files, randomly, do not have any cut-off with a great high frequency, while others have a frequency cut-off which would be equal to that of a relatively low quality .mp3 file.
I also think there may have been an error in the converting process on Adrees' end otherwise surely all files would either be in the same condition, right?

In my humble opinion, the Soundtrack for CLOS1 is one of the best game soundtracks I've ever heard. Same for CLOS2, though the real world tracks aren't my favorites.
