For the 2004 Akira Senju Piano Concert version (including cues for the 2004 TV series adaptation) conducted by Chosei Komatsu [Kentaro Haneda (pf), Japan Philharmonic Orchestra], nextday has shared it here (Thread 57893).

Senju Akira said in an interview that this is his life work. When he composed the first 2 tracks, the piano concerto "Fate", he had to consider the original composer Mitsuaki Kanno's feeling and intention and to rejuvenate the piece into modern era. In order to that do he sought help from pianist Kentaro Haneda, and revision after revision, only after Haneda felt the tone was set in accordance to the original piece that he was confidence in completing the soundtrack.

For the 2014 performance of the original suite conducted by Tomomi Nishimoto [Keisuke Toyama (pf), Japan Philharmonic Orchestra], go here (Thread 180539).

Ohh, so Senju's contribution was to revise somebody else's work? That explains why this piece sounds almost nothing at all like Senju! I continue my search for this in FLAC... My attempts in HMV, Virgin, and Tower Records in Tokyo drew a blank. (Actually, they drew lots of confused expressions, frenzied bowing, and fevered repetition of "Gomenasai gomenasai!" but the end result - no CD - was the same...
