I`ve seen the film and have the original issue myself, i have to say it`s not even one of my favs from Howard, i know why a lot of people like this, it`s because if you hear this without knowing that Howard composed it, you could think that it is a Zimmer score :(

That`s why i don`t like it a bit, i know they`re friends, but Howard is a far more superior composer but sadly in this he was influenced by him, it has that dreadful sound, i don`t know it was a conscious decision or rather one oriented or suggested by the Director of the movie, my thoughts.

I wonder if these scores are not considered part of the Recording sessions then? The thing with the Hunger Games score was that a lot of it was music re-mixed and added from external sources... so these cues might be out there with a complete score, not the recording sessions? I'm not entirely sure but I'm just guessing.

The thing is, JNH had three weeks to write and record the score because he was replacing Danny Elfman. Gary Ross said that he wanted to work with him since Dave, and he loved what he did in THG. I do think that maybe Lionsgate, or the producers didn't liked what JNH did, and decided to include source music to fill the empty blanks, and replacing some of JNH's cues (Marissa's Flashback replaces Finale Pt. 1, Sediment/Three Movements replaces The Countdown/Cornucopia Battle, Farewell replaces Katniss Afoot).

Since that JNH is confirmed for the sequel, and has much more time to do the score, and with Lawrence who loves music, definitely I can see that he'll expand the musical sounds and themes from the first score like Powell did with Bourne (he replaced Carter Burwell in the first score, which it only gave him a few weeks to write the score, and it was originally electronic, but Powell used a string orchestra). The first movie was about kids killing each other, a fully orchestral and thematic score would have being unappropiate. So, JNH decided to focus only on Katniss, where Arcade Fire wrote the Capitol hymn. But the next three films are very different.

Not to say that I'm ungrateful for what has been posted, but I really hope a Hunger Games Complete Score is released sometime soon, because a lot of the source cues that were used in the film were excellent. I actually prefer the Marissa's flashback remix to the Finale PT1. The electronic source music added another musical layer to the film that felt unique to The Hunger Games.

Incredible score. It's a must. Ranks right up there for JNH for me. Of course it's a personal thing, but to think he wrote it in three weeks is ridiculous. So many amazing cues and variants that were never on the original release and need to be heard.

Just an FYI for interested parties: the sound levels are very wide. Some tracks are very low with others very high. I have to turn the volume way up on my Cambridge Soundworks speakers on some tracks, while others almost blow them out.

Hey guys, attached are some covers I made, similar design as the ones posted by others, just using higher quality artwork and text. Looks pretty similar, but took lots of effort to switch lots of details, spent a couple hours on this. Anyways, enjoy. Plus I'm attaching two slightly different versions (bottom text placed differently), let me know which one you like better, or just for your own choice. Enjoy!

I was wondering the same thing. Just watched the movie again, took a closer look at the recording sessions and noticed the chunk of music that was missing.
Anyone out there have the complete recording sessions or do we just have to make do?

The film version of They're Flying has the second part of the cue replacing the first part. Finale Pt 1 seems to be an alternate version, since the version of the sheets doesn't have piano and harp, and it has the choir theme from Enter The Capitol. I've found Cornucopia Battle too, but it was the mix of the two source cues used in the film, and not JNH's original music.

Scorepranos' complete version (http://forums.ffshrine.org/showthread.php?t=185966&highlight=) has 12 cues more than the Dude's original post, includes most of the missing cues listed earlier by mgm, but I'm not sure they actually are mgm's missing cues. Even if are 256k, link is still working... better than nothing! :D
Btw, I really want to thank the Dude and Scorepranos for sharing this music!
