The sound quality is the best I've heard of the various Superman releases, including the FSM release. Not surprising, given the presumably better technology available at the time of this re-recording. The only drawback is the slightly slower tempo compared to the original recordings.

... a few facts:

1. The 2000 Warner/Rhino release Spectre Gadget alluded to is the original soundtrack from 1978 (conducted by John Williams). Warner/Rhino is not on the black list here and could be posted (I'm not sure if Spectre was offering it, he didn't say it explicitly). However, the original soundtrack was re-released later by FSM as part of the huge 8-disc Superman Collection (Film Score Monthly FSM BOX 02, 2008). There has been discussions here that in that case no earlier releases of the same music may be posted, even if they are from labels which are allowed otherwise. I don't know how this matter is handled here on the forum - maybe some mod can help in this case to be certain how to proceed in this delicate matter.

2. The Debney re-recording (as offered by El Cid, who started this thread) was recorded with the Royal Scottish National Orchestra in 1998 in 20 bit digital. It was released by Varese (Varese Sarabande VSD-5981) and cannot be posted here openly. Anyone asking for a link openly in this thread will not be heard. You can do it again and again, but it's futile, I assure you!

3. El Cid has shared links before ("p.m. for link" - meaning YOU have to p.m. HIM for a link, not asking for a p.m. here in the thread!). However, his last posting activity was 4/30/2013, and I have the feeling all requests after that day were unsuccessful. If El Cid doesn't come back the next few days, there will be someone else to step in (as Scotty pointed out!). Yes, I'm quite certain of it.... ;)
