Yes it is a remake and re-imagining with a new story. Besides resemblance, all characters are original creations and there are new origins for the Book of the Dead, the characters and cabin.
Film comes out in April as well as the full score.

Oh come on you know what I mean. Full score as opposed to two tracks. Anyone who wants every single note is crazy anyway, too much film music out there and very few scores are worth listening to in their entirety.

Don't have many hopes for the movie itself, but Banos constantly delivers fine music (even for the horror genre, for which, let's be honest, it's quite hard to compose something innovative and melodic). And the Goldsmithian satanic choir is simply amazing!

By the way, I would greatly appriciate if someone uploaded Machionic mentioned Don Davis' House on Haunted Hill score!

Roque Ba�os is one of the finest and greatest spanish film music composer. With truly gems like "Alatriste" or Alex de la Iglesia Films and Santiago Segura's "Torrente" saga.

Wow! - When I heared about a remake of "Evil Dead" I thought that's crap, like almost every remake from one of the good old ones. But this music gives me hope, because it sounds fantastic! Let's see, maybe it'll be an positive exception during this remake-/reboot-madness...

It's a very good score. All indications are that this is going to be a great horror movie. Because of the unique nature of the original - the use of sound, camera angles, atmosphere - I'm not going to compare the two. Ok, I'm going to try not to.

The LLLR deluxe edition album release leaves off two tracks from the extended 78 minute promo. The promo is 30 minutes shorter from both the deluxe edition album and 35 minutes shorter from the expanded promo.

Thanks for the info. So basically there's nothing on the La-La Land album that's Not in the extended promo? I notice lots of the tracks are cut differently/split/renamed, etc. which is totally fine as long as all the music the same. Just want to have the most complete version, so I guess that would be the Extended Promo, unless the official album happened to have some variants.
