"Twilight Symphony contains three and a half hours of orchestral arrangements based on the music from The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess. Each track has been expanded upon in a creative way while allowing the story and emotions to be conveyed in a familiar, yet whole new way. Twilight Symphony is designed to be listened to from beginning to end, but each track is able to stand on its own.

We [Zelda Reorchestrated] created the album using professional grade sample libraries blended with live recorded elements including strings, woodwinds, brass, guitar, vocals, and a professional Hollywood choir."

I believe it does the Twilight Princess music a well deserved orchestral arrangement. However, it's not perfect and some may be a little disappointed as many of the boss themes are short lived and it's not until half way through the songs, the actual song begins. "Ook's Theme" being the worst offender with it sounding irritating in contrast to what I thought the beginning of the song would be in the preview. ("Ook and the Boomerang" Preview (http://twilight-symphony.com/preview/10%20-%20Ook%20and%20the%20Boomerang.mp3))

Though there are many highlights most notably "Midna", "Midna's Lament", "A Door to the Past", the second half of the final disc, and many more.

If you have a lot of money laying around or just are really generous, please consider purchasing Twilight Symphony when it releases or donate money to ZREO to insure that they may create many more masterpieces in the future specifically TLOZ arrangements.

Twilight Symph0ny Early Works

This is a small album which contains WIP's, Demos, and unused tracks not included within the Twilight Symphony album. For now, I've included extras (Previews, Interview audio, etc ripped by The_Codefinder) in the archive.

I wish all of the boss songs were done in a similar fashion to track 15.

Much thanks to The_Codefinder's generosity for providing the tracks! :)

(Official Release contains varied MP3s)

Not really sure what to say about this being posted here. I am one of the people lucky enough to have purchased a physical copy of this. But when ZERO released this project in digital form, in the email to receive the download code, they asked specifically not to share it on free websites such as this to protect against piracy and out of respect for the group who put so much time in making this a success and got delayed thanks to Nintendo having copyright issues with it, this album was designed to be purchased. So I'm not trying to rant anyone out or anything, but I think we should honor their request and not have this posted here. If people want this 3 disc masterpiece that badly, they should put their money towards it like it was meant to be. Just honoring their only conditions of completing this project.

I heard mixed views from people, some say it's good, but many say isn't "just" average.

I would have definitely donated on the Kickstarter back than If I would have known about it, hack, I have since I started looking at Kickstarter, helped funding 4 Albums, like the Turrican Soundtrack Anthology or the FF6 Album.

And the Final Price for this is in my opinion a bit too high compared to other multi Disc Albums. (+ I always have to pay even more for Shipping internationally while others at this price, often offer the shipping for free )

However, should this be rather good than I would defenitly Buy this after all, not only to get this nice Poster.

Is this some kind to justafy for me to download the Pirated copy of this? Maybe :/ I like to write down my trail of thoughts

Sorry, I know I may seem a little out of place saying what I did seeing as tho this site is all about sharing this kind of thing with others, but to me, this is something special enough and I think any other true Zelda fan would say so too. So, sorry if it seems that I am wrong in saying so, but that's just my opinion. Like I said, I'm not trying to rant anyone out or anything.

I can understand your concern. Though it was only a matter of time until it leaked everywhere. If it was to be put up, I at least encourage donating or purchasing the album once it releases while having it out. It's also publicity to whoever may have not heard of this album and can give attention to ZREO.

You are correct, this has not been released officially yet. It is only available as a digital download to those who have invested the money to buy a physical copy. The download was promised to those who purchased the album for listening purposes while they wait for their physical copy to be shipped. This probably shouldnt be shared until at least the official release

Thank you so much! I agree i was clearly interested by the project and was interested to buy the physical edition cause the edition is so cool :) but it was too expensive for me too. I also have to put money for international shipping... At the end it does a lot of money...

I can understand your opinion but last time i bought the released edition of the "Terra Nova" soundtrack cause i found score was good and the edition itself too but before i received it it was leaked here and i never opened the disc lol so i can understand you but i prefer take benefit of this post.

I'm seriously concerned with all these rants for the share. What is it, does the ZREO team deserve a special treatment? And for what reason? There are many other indie albums that are shared freely here and nobody complains. Also, it's not like those who would have bought the album now won't because there's a free download of it.

They're not the only ones in the world who don't want their content freely shared. And no one seems to be respecting the wishes of Square Enix, Konami, etc...

Besides, I can see many ways that !!!!! sharing this content actually helps the producers. For one bringing attention to more people, I'm clearly not the only one in here who didn't even know about this.

There's also some pretty interesting statistics regarding piracy that often doesn't get proper news coverage. And that is that piracy actually does very little to harm publishers and in more ways than sales, actually benefits them. I never bookmark my citations because at the moment I think I'm done reading something, but between four groups, people who buy content, people who try (try as in pirate) then buy content, people who try and don't buy content, and people who don't try and don't buy content; the people who try content are 17% more likely to buy content, than people that just try and don't buy. That 17% may not sound like much compared to the overwhelming majority of those who only-pirate, but 17% is still 17% more than 0%, AKA the people that don't try and don't buy. However, (and this is where I stray away from news articles and studies and begin to guess how the world works...) that hefty 83% of pirates that try and don't buy aren't completely useless either. Often pirates of all types share what they leech, which gives the producers unwanted publicity that attracts more potential buyers including more 17percenters.

The don't try don't buy group are usually either people who don't know how to try while not caring enough to buy, or people that know how to try but don't care to try or buy. For example an old lady who clearly doesn't understand how to do anything, or someone like me who sees a Street Fighter or Justin Beiber CD, but choose to just ignore them because they both fucking suck. So feel better about !!!!! sharing content for free because he's opening up more potential revenue unintentionally for the producer, than taking it away. Even if 17% (give or take) actually buy the album, thats still better for them than the 0% should this thread not exist.

Besides, disregarding all I've said up to this point, this thread is heading to nowheresville pretty fast, just like all the other threads that are dedicated to only one album. Maybe 30-50 people might download this over the thread's lifetime. Those numbers are insignificant to worry or feel guilty over, even if 100% of us try and don't buy. Personally I'm reserving my need to buy because I'm going to be honest... Even if this is the greatest thing to happen to Twilight Princess in half a decade, its still going to sit idly on my harddrive while I flat-out ignore it in favor of Final Fantasy and Kid Icarus. The main reason while I personally pirate something, is because I think its just better to grab the music while the link is active, then at a later time when all the links are dead. I have 100+GB of Japanese crap I don't care for or listen to, that I downloaded solely on a whim like thinking the cover art was cute. I have several albums on my harddrive that I never heard, sampled, or have an idea what they sound like. Just downloaded because I was there and thought "Why not." Just like Twilight Symphony, where I never heard of it and was just in the area... Much like Kanto symphony, its probably not that good anyways because that too sits in a folder, never being opened.

I understand what you mean about the sharing/distributing of Twilight Symphony right now, especially since there's currently no legal way to purchase the album at the moment. I'm one of the Kickstarter backers and CD-preorderers, so I've been enjoying the FLAC release of TS for a while now, and really appreciate the hard work and dedication ZREO made into creating this project.

That said, I'm hoping that once TS is available on iTunes the price is still fairly reasonable, considering how Nintendo has their hands with the project now. A price too high might lead to more piracy/sharing of the album on alternative sites/torrents. As for those that missed out on ordering a CD, I'm hoping that there is another run of physical CDs produced, or at least having the FLAC version available for purchase in addition to an MP3 release.

Looks like people suddenly gained morale for a minute and posted here. So people never complain about major company releases but when an indie soundtrack is released there is controversy?

Looks like people suddenly gained morale for a minute and posted here. So people never complain about major company releases but when an indie soundtrack is released there is controversy?

Little bit. Here are some reasons why this is different from sharing official soundtracks:

1. Spirit. Most original soundtracks are produced as cash grabs for the game publishers, not because they want people to hear the music. Twilight Symphony began as a genuine, from-the-heart, fanmade project that snowballed into the production it is today; ZREO produced it for themselves, and for you, not to bring revenue to Nintendo.

2. Profit-sharing. As stated in the above point, OSTs are for the benefit of major companies that own the music, and its into those corporate coffers that the proceeds mostly go, not to the composers. Sharing their official soundtracks is a way for us to "stick it to the man." In this case, there is no "man;" just a group of Zelda enthusiasts that poured themselves into this project for the last couple years. Donations go directly to cover the costs of producing the album, plus a little bit extra directly to the arrangers to show appreciation for their hard work. If more original soundtrack purchases went directly to the composers, we might buy them more often.

3. Availability. Many OSTs are available for purchase only in certain regions of the world, whose exclusivity and high import costs make it prohibitively expensive to accrue a decent collection. This album is available easily and digitally for anyone who wishes to hear it.

I know it's a bit of a double-standard for any one of us here to be "against" sharing music; that's defining "hypocritcal" to the max. But as a backer of this project, I lean towards the "this should not be shared" side of the argument. This is a project that I arbitrarily consider "worth" spending money on.

Please stop this, while you still can.

That was my only post in this thread. :(

Well, you know what I mean. We don't share them specifically to hurt the companies, but it's easier to say, "Bah, they don't need my money," to a large corporation than it is to a group of indie musicians. If more soundtracks were released "for the love of the music" (like virt's Adventure Time score) instead of "for the love of money," (because OSTs cost far more than simple CD manufacturing costs), maybe we'd be more willing to pay to listen to (or at least own) it.

Yeah, this kind of thing is tough. As a musician, I resonate with the artists' concerns (ie, wanting to be paid for their intense labors), but as a brokeass (I said musician, right?), I get wanting to check something out before investing in it.

Feels, all around.

Yep, to those following the thread, the current version of the Early Works Album is a rip from the ZREO Kickstarter Backers' webpage that has an embeded Soundcloud player for streaming/playing only. Using the Firefox plugin-in VideoDownloadHelper I was able to download the tracks while they are playing/streaming. Well, in my viewpoint this download would rather wait a little more (at least until the album oficially would get digital purchase), but whatever, so many people has been impatient (include me) to get their hands in it. And I say this work deserves every dime it will cost in the digital stores, so I'll buy it also (as I did it in its moment with Kanto Symphony).

Well I think this is excellent. Lots of work and passion went into this. Not sure if I'd pay the tag price for it (unless it went to Koji Kondo et al), but I'd definitely donate a thank you amount (and I'm not talking short change of course. Thank you for sharing.

I personally helped fund this project, as did many many people, and while I always knew it would at some point leak out onto the net and onto here as a result, I did think that people would at least have the respect to wait until it was publicly available to do so. This makes the incentives of funding the project meaningless.

Ah, got it! Thanks so much :-) Been anticipating this for a LONG time and if they ever give us a release date for the download, I'll of course be paying for it. I get the whole controversy, but some things are just too good to wait for ;-)

It does that sometimes. This can happen with certain browsers, or if you have a captcha open at your IP.

Closing Words | Zelda Reorchestrated (http://www.zreomusic.com/2013/04/02/closing-words)

Well looks like Twilight Symphony isn't going to be released after all and ZREO is shutting down soon. I assume the deal with Nintendo was not sufficient.

I doubt there will ever be any Nintendo Symphonies post-2013, now. I'm not gonna record another one, if I do go, that is.

I think the point of debate was to get profit from the release (being this release so great), else the guys from SE long time ago would do one of their dumbass "cease and desist" letters to the OverClocked ReMix guys for the multiple FF arrangement albums done for them (I just think about).

Yep, I'm a backer of the project, and this was a reward for backing the project. Originally, the album was only available as a streaming Soundcloud plugin only (but I ripped it with FireFox's DownloadHelper, leading to only 128kbps rips). However, now it's a directly-download zip file posted on the backers' webpage. A few of the songs are still in 128kbps, but many are 192kbps and 320kbps now. I figured I'd give !!!!! a copy of this file for public consumption now, especially since ZREO's going offline in June.

Thanks it's great! but tell me when was that early works album published? I mean is there any official date for the release of that compilation?

(it's just so that I set a straight year number for the whole album, and I guess for that purpose the first time this backer's gift was available would give em the precise year)

Thanks in advance

Im still a bit annoyed because the strange decission ZREO made... Seriously i respect their decission but... I find it rather strange and a bit opportunist seeing some coments...
