This is the authentic CD rip of the original standard edition soundtrack of The Hobbit. I shared here only because every other post created for this edition were taken from the online streaming preview (Thread 123251) of the score.
That stream had the tracks cross faded into each others, causing jarring cuts when they were split in separate tracks. Not counting also that every copy recorded from the stream was a transcode.

So if you want to hear this version of the soundtrack in true audio quality and without any abrupt cuts, then this share gives it all.

Enjoy :)

Thanks for this! I couldn't justify owning both editions when I only wanted three tracks from the regular OST, but it's nice to finally have them in good quality.

Great, the other rip has the tracks flowing into each other and one cue that's totally unlistenable.

I now know I'm getting the standard edition, if only for the far superior 'Roast Mutton' cue.

While I really like the short version of "Roast Mutton," I still prefer the Special Edition because of "A Very Respectable Hobbit," "Erebor," and "The Dwarf Lords." They're all fairly short, but fantastic!

I don't like the crossfading either and when I bought the digital...it was weird going back to listen to certain tracks.

Thank you for sharing this! I'm glad I can experience this version.

Thank you SOOOOOOOOOOO much!! I purchased the Special Edition and have been looking for an upload of the standard OST that is the legit standard OST and NOT the cross-faded-made-into-a-soundtrack versions. Unfortunately, there are several threads that have uploaded this pieced together version and are calling it the legit standard OST. So a BIG thank you, Sanico, for this generous upload. :-)
