First off this is my own rip using the dvd and the soundtrack. I found the dvd channels to be very flat sounding so I added some bass to make it more alive. I used the Front Left Channel and The Rear Channels the Front Right Channel had vocal echoes. Their is sfx for 3 seconds. I also adjusted the volume where it sounded right and tried to avoid hiss without using noise reduction. And the songs are included not as instrumentals.

I haven't listened to all the tracks yet, but so far I'd say they sound pretty good :)

Perhaps lower the added bass just a tiny bit on the big numbers - It sounded a bit much on tracks 2 and 4, but other than that it sounds like you're 'on the right track' :P

Looking forward to the completed project!

Are you kidding? Don't do a thing to it other than finish the whole thing! It sounds like a professional studio mix! When I first saw this post I was jumping for joy, then I read
what it was and felt letdown and very skeptical. I have heard some rips that sound exactly like a rip from a movie, very wide stereo with dialogue diluted in the middle, but
to my delight and utter amazement this does not. It sounds fluckin fantastic. Are you using a special kind of software to do this. I have 2 different versions of the real album
and they don't sound this good! Keep up the great work and PM me when you finish this album just to make sure I don't miss it.
Sincerely,
jmoss

I'm just using Audacity and I use Goldwave to boost the bass. I have like five more tracks to do. I should have it complete by tomorrow

I did a much better rip of the complete soundtrack from the front and rear surround sound channels of the DVD I have of it (including the LFE), which contained NO SFXs. Plus, all the songs were minus the vocals :-)

Also, it's just one file and the only thing I've done to it is to remove the gaps in between music.

It is indeed packed in 1 file instead of having individual tracks numbered from 1....to ...25...

I prefer it divided according to cues, but thanks anyway.

Sorry but I wasn't that interested enough in it to do anything other than rip it, create a stereo mix of the front, rear and LFE channels, and then edit out all the silences in between the music. Now, had it been the instrumental soundtrack to Joel Schumacher's 2004 film version of Andrew Lloyd Webber's 'The Phantom of the Opera', I would have been slaving away at it non-stop for the best part of a week or so splitting it into individual tracks and getting it all to sound perfect ;-)

This is awesome! THANK YOU!!!

Here's a bit of Bedknobs trivia. Did you know that the first choice for the leads were Ron Moody and Julie Andrews. The film was originally going to shoot when Oliver! did so Moody declined and David Tomlinson was hired. Julie Andrews waited too long to accept and accepted the role just after Angelia Lansbury was cast. Now, can you imagine if it had stayed with Mr. Banks and Mary Poppins as love interests? Ha!
