I love nonstop albums, and I love the soundtracks from this trilogy, so I decided to compile my favorite tracks into a single non-stop CD. I've tried to keep it all chronological, and make the tracks flow into each other as naturally as possible. There's some editing involved to keep it within the 80 minutes available to a CD, hopefully nothing comes across as jarring.

With the sole exception of "No Stone Unturned" (which is currently available only in .mp3 format,) all sources are lossless. All tracks from "Batman Begins" and "The Dark Knight" were taken from the Complete Recordings, while all tracks from "The Dark Knight Rises" were taken from the official CD Soundtrack. When the eventual Complete Edition of TDKR becomes available in lossless format, I'll most likely go back & re-edit (ACID Pro is kinda awesome that way.)

I've uploaded the entire 408mb .zip to UppIT, which I've never used before. But it's fairly new & offers 500mb storage. If something happens to it, I'll be happy to re-up to another preferred site.

Download DKS.zip @ UppIT (http://uppit.com/gzwexdys69co/DKS.zip)

Nice orchestral suite from the trilogy. Nice choice of tracks (I'd done the same selection). Only one favorite track that I miss in my opinion is from Batman Begins > Batman on fire (Recording sessions disc 2) :) Good word though!

So, the "Symphony" (seeing Hans Zimmer even associated with the term is a shock) is just a collection of bits and pieces from the original albums?

Univers LT Std (75 I think) for the title and "music composed by" lines, and Univers LT 55 for the "From the Dark Knight Trilogy" line. They're not the exact fonts used on the official posters, etc. (that font's slightly narrower) but it was the closest I could find for free. Also, the two lines at the bottom needed extra spaces - one space between letters, three spaces between words.

And, as the guy who created this album & uploaded the original FLAC version (Thread 118906), I'd appreciate it if collection could at least encode his .mp3 version in VBR if he's going to repost my compilation. 320 is for suckers.

And wimpel69, it's not just a straightforward collection. Everything runs together in a nonstop format, with some segues that sound pretty cool (to me at least, haha.)

As requested, a redone cover for "The Dark Knight Symphony". (PNG @ 1080 1080)

- the font is now "Helvetica Neue" (correct font).
- the letters are now properly spaced.
- the credits are now properly centered.
- contains alternate cover (with "Suite" or "Trilogy" instead of "Symphony")
- contains resources (JPEG wallpaper and SVG files with letters as paths)

Yes! Any fan-made compilation should be so labeled. The term symphony in this context would imply that it was arranged for orchestra (which would sound like shit as we already heard on the City of Prague Philharmonic's Music of Batman album).

Currently listening to it and exploring the TDKR section (which I never heard apart from the movie) ...

It's a fun ride if you're in the mood. I'd even call it THE ACTION COLLECTION because the music won't come to a rest and the suite makes a big mistake:
IT MISSES THE RA'S AL GHUL THEME!!!

Basically it just jumps from one action piece to another. Can be pretty exhausting. :)

Might as well, since obviously the name of the thing's far more important than the actual music presentation.

And variable encoding makes this impossible in what way?

Or you could have provided the VBR along with the FLAC version instead of leaving it out, you wouldn't have appreciate what others do in your absence.
This forum is slow on the realization of 320/VBR.

I'd be more peeved that you weren't given any credit in the initial post.
But toh-may-toh/toh-mah-toh.

I've listened to the complete thing, and well, I like it, but it has its mixing issues.
Geof, by any chance did you use Audacity/GoldWave/Audition or did you just use ACID/VEGAS? Mixing is a bit off in certain places... Like for example, "A Dark Knight" comes in a little bit too early into "I'm Not A Hero".

But, I like it. And I'm going to attempt a suite myself.

I wonder why it is that people who were wrong lash out at people who were right? Surely it would be logical - not to mention courteous and fair - for the person at fault to acknowledge their failure with humility? Instead, they try to make the right people feel bad for being right!

I wonder why it is that people who made no previous comments in a thread choose to jump in and call out people who made a mistake? Surely it would be logical - not to mention courteous and fair - for the person just now joining the conversation to perhaps comment on the subject of the thread before resurrecting a months-old disagreement over the use of one particular word? Instead, they try to make the person who actually tried to contribute something feel worse!

1.) At the time, the focus on the thread was more about the name of the compilation and the cover's typography, rather than it's content. An alternate cover was made, and I feel I was pretty agreeable about it. I had no control over what the thread title was then changed to, perhaps you can call out that person as well for being wrong.

2.) Out of 3 pages, there's maybe 5 people who actually provided their thoughts on the album. This is an estimate on my part, please feel free to point out if I am wrong about that number. I made this compilation primarily for myself, and I decided to post it here because I thought others might like it, and I wanted to hear what they thought of it, not what they thought of the title, etc.
