I really wish they'd release the full sessions that have survived of this. The two releases plus the leaked tracks make for a confusing and often incorrect idea of what there is. I love this score...one of my favourites

You can argue Goldsmith's score is the superior one... but I grew up with the Tangerine Dream one and wish somebody would release a complete version. Is it because nobody has the rights to it? (I read somewhere this was why The Keep hasn't been released on DVD yet, because Paramount doesn't own the rights to the score.)

This is a great question, I wonder about this constantly. I've heard things here and there, like nobody knows where the original recordings for the TD score exist (hence why we didn't get a legitimate isolated score for the DVD or Blu-Ray releases), or that Universal owns the rights, not the band, and are just sitting on them. I emailed La-La Land sometime this year asking if they'd explored doing a release of the TD score. They said they'd love to, but that there are "some issues" with that release. They didn't go into detail.

Well, dang, that's a shame. But at least there's clearly some interest in it. And if anyone were to release Tangerine Dream's Legend score, I do wish it'd be La-La Land. They and Intrada are the best,

It is a shame, but the interest definitely exists. I continue to hope that someone, somehow, will figure out a way through the issues.

Would be nice to have a proper lossless rip of this expanded version.
