I just have to mention this once and up front: Wildwood Park's posts always look great too. Not only does he always have really interesting things to share but he presents them well too. Thank you, man, so much.

As for the score: I'm not sure I ever really listened to it (and I do like Tangerine Dream). So this should be interesting - especially after hearing the wonderful Goldsmith score (that I'm not going to compare with this as so many other have tried). I'm curious to listen to it in it's own right. Thanks again.

Thanks for the kind words, this soundtrack however is not my cup of tea at the moment but perhaps in time it will grow on me.

It's one of Goldsmith finest score. Rejected in the U.S because the a-hole president at Universal Sidney Sheinberg thought a more pop-synth score to appeal to the youth( it is the 80s after all) He almost did the same thing to Gilliam's Brazil until the director threatened to burn the film negatives but damages is been done until Criterion released the director's cut.

I do prefer some of the tracks in this rearranged score over the original. maybe because it felt more orchestrated and natural sounding.

I didn't know about this score. I thought it was part of the OST. Here in Europe I always saw the film with the Goldsmith score. I can't imagine the film with this music. I think I'm going to look for the film US version and compare, but it will be a little bit strange.
