I think some .rar numbers are missing (e.g. 2-3), is it on purpose?

Great work, slippyToad! I haven't downloaded everything yet (lots of rar files), but from what I've heard so far, your rip is way better than mine could ever be. Well done! I'd give you some +rep but apparently I have to wait since I recently gave you some already :P

the downloads were still being uploaded whe I wrote the message, so I guess they were just not uploaded yet.

Edit: i just played the sidequests I missed and found out where the 2 unknown songs are from: One of them plays when you fix Fun Fun island and the other one plays when you give Owlan the Kiwki.

Holy mother! I only downloaded the first rar, and the quality of those few is astounding! Can't wait to have the whole thing on my HD.
Thank a LOT for all your effort!!

I do not even know if "epic achievement" can even begin to describe the accomplishment of this feat.

I do not even know if proclaiming you to be a scholar and a gentlemen would even fit your status.

But regardless, a thousand Internets for you sir! Bravo!

it was nothing. The game was easy to rip, it only has a few sequenced tracks. Only thing is trying to figure out all tracks when they are played.

i only see 26 rar files i cannot download them and it says i have to buy membership or tryout for free but even for free i cannot download please upload a whole rar file

slippyToad
12-10-2011, 08:05 PM
how come all the files are not in one rar file? I can only see eight oO
1. mediafire has a limit of 200mb per file.
2. because it's still a preliminary rip and since I'll fix mistakes it would be quite annoying if you have to download all songs or don't know which rar contains which files. Therefore I split them by game section. Some game sections have more songs than other game sections.

its very time consuming clicking on each link to download it going to another page clicking it getting spammed by a ad the bypasses ad blockers then save it wait till one finishes and do it again then wait till all 26 fiels are all done and unzip all 26 rar files one by one..... upload it to megaupload? much quicker to download one big rar rather than 26 seperate ones one rar can hold the 26 seperate folders and you could just select the folder you want

1. mediafire has a limit of 200mb per file.

then use multiupload....

KAITO
12-11-2011, 01:34 AM
Not everyone has the time to individually click each folder in the original link, get redirected to another page, get slammed by an ad that bypasses ad blocks and downloads IMO it could be either to have about a two/three parter download on places like megaupload or multiupload and link it to them

Faleel
12-11-2011, 01:44 AM
Multiupload can handle 1GB.

How do I download this? When I try it takes me to mediafire and I'm seeing only 23 rar files each named like Skykeep.rar Title Menu.rar, etc.

Edit: Ah I'm an idiot, you seperated them by sections. Any way to download them all at once? I hope the quality's good. I was linked to another RIP on here, and it wasn't named at all and had pretty bad quality in some parts.

Thanks anyways!

Edit 2: Argh, sound quality still suffers. Almost completely kills it...

Edit 3 (lol): Okay, it seems a lot less tracks are affected by imperfect sound, so this rip is much better, plus it's named, so thanks I'll take this one!

this is probably the best upload of the OST so far. I think you did a pretty good job with this; I have only minor issues with it and that's really just quality, but for now, I can live without high quality. ^_^ thanks for the tagged OST.

Please use multiupload or megaupload, not many people do more tha 23 download files, not everyone likes to download that many folders, takes way too long best to download everything in one go or in three different folders

its very time consuming clicking on each link to download it going to another page clicking it getting spammed by a ad the bypasses ad blockers then save it wait till one finishes and do it again then wait till all 26 fiels are all done and unzip all 26 rar files one by one..... upload it to megaupload? much quicker to download one big rar rather than 26 seperate ones one rar can hold the 26 seperate folders and you could just select the folder you wantMight want to fix up that grammar, bucko. He won't be able to understand your point. And be happy with what you have, god damn it.

1 too many rar files to download
2. people like to download all files in 2-4 part rar files possibly each with maybe a few of the 26 files in each
3. downloading all 26 files individually is time consuming plus it asks to sign up for pro where you have to pay for something some people only use once just to download stuff
4. sometimes you have to wait till one finishes to download before starting another taking up bandwith and slowing connection down if done at the same time

upload to miltiupload as fewer files with all songs to either multiupload or megaupload those can support massive files

Hey, slippytoad, I don't hear a difference between "Skyloft" and "Skyloft (Variation)." Was the wrong file uploaded a second time by mistake? Because there is a variation of Skyloft, the one that plays without the main melody when you are on the outskirts of Skyloft, and that one seems to not be included in the soundtrack.

Oh and also the sync-corrected Bowser's Burning Tail is still missing from the "new" folder of your SMG soundtrack.

Now this rip is truly amazing. The quality really isn't that horrible, to be honest. It's MUCH better than several I've seen. It also covers about 99% of the tracks I can think of off the top of my head. And as Only3Penguins said, I have trouble telling the difference between a few variations. But I do have a few questions about what you may want to add in the future. Will you

A) Add the song that plays inside of Skipper's house? You have one listed as it, I think, but the real song is more somber with less of a melody.
B) Add Fi's voice to the Harp duets? (That might take some doing, but Fi's voice is all that makes me listen to a few of them)

Many thanks!

So I can record the harp songs with Fi's voice. I think the ambient sounds stop playing anyway when you play the harp there.
I think I mixed the variations wrong for Skyloft and Skipper's house. I'll fix them asap.

Well, Fi sings to the same tune and rhythm like the Old Woman in the Sealed Grounds, and that one was ripped just fine. I don't know the science behind that though, because it's quite probable that her voice is considered a track and Fi's voice is mashed up and spread across the sound effects folder. The only reason I'd think otherwise is that Fi says the same thing every time during those segments. She's actually singing in Hylian.

And thank you so much, slippyToad! I believe you are right about the ambience going away. You sure are a godsend for fans of vgm soundtracks.

actually the variations are very small. The Demise Theme doesn't loop in the US version. The variation of Demise Battle is just the intro being the regular version in the US version.

I'm almost done with all the fixes. The Lanayru tracks are annoying to figure out with all the timeshift stone variations. Those tracks had 3 streams internally. Never understood what the 3rd one was, until I figured it out it's the Skipper's Retreat shack variation only. The other 2 variations only play in the exterior of Pirate's Stronghold.
Have all the harp songs WITH fi's voice. It has one ambient magic sound. It would take too much time to mute that sound only.

Now all I need is to record the battle variations I missed and I'll reupload it(I still have to see if it really are other variations, but people say these are missing):
Approaching, Low Health
Battling, Low Health
Digital
Digital, Low Health
Inside Volcano
Inside Volcano, Low Health

edit: seems only Armos enemies make this digital variation or it does not exist. Someone told me sentrobes play the variation when they release those 2 bombs, but I can't hear anything different. Are there any Armos enemies that reappear?

edit: recorded some variations, but they were certainly not clear when they play. I noticed no digital SFX when recording, unless it's really the Armo enemy that has this variation.

From what I heard after beating the game, the digital variation ONLY plays when the sentrobes launch the bombs. Though I have a feeling it's not part of the sequence and is it's own SFX.

Hey, slippy, sorry to ask more of you But when you rename/resequence these variations that you're working on, are you going to re-upload the rar files that need changing AND add a new rar of the new variations for those that have already downloaded the files? Because, I'm sorry again, but I don't exactly want to spend another hour and a half downloading two huge files and then finding out which ones I need to replace.

If you've already added them to the track list and don't know which ones you've had to redo, it's perfectly fine if you don't want to add another. I can't exactly complain about a free complete rip with excellent quality.

Currently uploading MP3 and FLAC. mediafire says 5 hours upload time. :) 16 FLAC files or 6 MP3 files. The old one is in the OLD map. Will not change the multiupload one for now. I can make a changeset. It's not including the Battle end, because i was getting lazy to renumber the entire list again for just this fanfare.

I think I should mention that the BGM BIG BOSS FLYING is what plays when The Imprisoned begins to levitate after Groose's bomb supply has been blocked off, and link has to land on top of it before it reaches the top.nope, I just keep checking it with Riivolution and to stream it with Riifs from my pc and the file is not loaded once during the entire gameplay. Also when mixing all 4 channels I noticed the looping is also wrong(quite easy to hear on the variation).
On the other side some tracks are loaded during cutscenes, but not being used.
Here's a list of things I know when I made the soundtrack:
- Solution #1 has some SFX. If you hear it correctly you can hear I recorded it when hitting the first timeshift stone as it's an ancient robot digging for treasure.
- Get collectible has some SFX.
- the skyfield songs are already loaded when you do the Wingloft training.
- Every hint movie plays exactly 17 seconds, so I did not loop it or anything.
- The Fortune teller fanfare has the fortuneteller's voice on it. I think it's part of the fanfare.
- Battle (Idle) plays when you don't attack the enemy and the enemy can't reach you(example: Deku Baba). Battle (Under attack) plays when you don't attack, but the enemy does(for example a Deku Scrub), Battle (Sentrode Bombs) is only played when a Sentrobe releases those bombs. Those bombs make the digital SFX.
- The imprisoned pedestal is loaded on your first visit in the sealed grounds, but it never plays
- Solution #2 has some SFX
- Story unfolding is loaded when Impa unlocks the bridge for you, but a different song is playing
- There's some sound editing used on the Lizalfos/Magmanos/Moldorn battle songs, because of some ambient sound I couldn't mute.
- Some sound Editing the critical variation of Scaldera/Tentalus, because the sequenced fanfare playing doesn't match the looping points of the stream.
- Get Rupoor has some SFX
- Mini-Game Finish is sound edited
- Groose got scared is the only drumloop in the brsar i could identify
- Harp Performance With Kina was recorded too loud
- Waterfall removed is loaded in-game when the water dragon removes the waterfall, but it is never playing at all.
- Ancient Cistern (Underground) is just the song played on half speed with some low bass ambient sound to make it scary. It misses those ambient sounds.
- Minecart Ride was recorded on the second course and the last section is recorded when the game is paused.
- Sky Keep appears already is loaded when completing the song of the hero.
- Link plays the harp is the only sequenced song in a cutscene. It has some SFX, which i was too lazy to remove.
- Kina, The Dragons and Impa singing are streamed. Fi's voice is not.
- BGM_BIG_BOSS_FLYING is never loaded and the variation shows it doesn't loop right too.
- For some reason the Romance Theme is never loaded too. There's one song that's almost the same, but that one is used.
- i think one of the cymbal sounds is used when you end a regular battle in skyloft.
- only missing from this soundtrack are a few small fanfares that are considered SFX (the first Kiwki found fanfare, collect rupee, collect collectible again), and the regular battle ending

Hey slippy, I just thought of something. I may know when the Romance Theme is played, if at all. During the Cawlin sidequest, if you do give his letter to Karane, I believe that variation plays during the scene with Pipit that follows. I can't be sure, though, so I'm going to have to check on that. If I can find any other in-game information, I'll let you know.

i just played the sidequests I missed and found out where the 2 unknown songs are from: One of them plays when you fix Fun Fun island and the other one plays when you give Owlan the Kiwki.
@Bar: Maybe that's what we were wondering about on that list of sequenced files.

I do not even know if "epic achievement" can even begin to describe the accomplishment of this feat.

I do not even know if proclaiming you to be a scholar and a gentlemen would even fit your status.

But regardless, a thousand Internets for you sir! Bravo!Wow, those are big understatements! I agree.

With all the untagged rips out there, this is really worth it seeing all the songs tagged and labled! Thank you!
That, and this is the only complete rip. I'd easily bet you $100 that nobody else will ever make a complete rip. And nobody who sees this post would count toward that.

Also, two important things:
1. Sound quality is good, stop complaining people. He hasn't posted the high quality version yet.
2. Nice job uploading the files. MediaFire might be a pain, but I surely cannot complain.

Still a few tweaks need to be done with this rip but other than that it's awesome! One variation of Lake Floria is missing. It's The variation with the staccato string pattern that is really supposed to be Faron's Shrine (Underwater). For some reason, both the Faron's Shrine tracks in this rip are just slowed down versions of the Lake Floria Theme and yet they still last the same amount of time as the normal Lake Floria tracks which are 3:35. Other than that I believe that this is the only mistake in the whole album. One more thing I'd like to note is that I think there is a full Skyview Temple version with all channels playing at once but correct me if I'm wrong. Anyway, I'm so glad someone took the time to put together a really nice rip of this game. Thanks, Slippy!

I didn't have any problems extracting them...had the .rar files in a New Folder on my desktop. Just make sure to select "Extract files here", instead of "Extract each archive in separate folder"....that way you won't reach the Windows 255 character limit. You could also try moving the .rars in a folder directly under the C:/ directory, instead of further into the User folders.

I apologize if someone else has already pointed this out, but every occurrence of "Ghirahim" is misspelled as "Girahnim". That is unless it's some translational thing. Sometimes Ganon was spelled with two n's.

On a different topic, did anyone notice how the music playing on Bamboo Isle sounds similar to the end of a level in Super Paper Mario...I don't know what to call the track. On the rip I have, it's titled "Soft Light" and it might just play after boss battles.

So will this rip ever be completed? There are a lot of errors still, for example the Lanayru Mining Facility Timeshift theme is a jumbled mess of both versions of the song playing at once.

The other thread seems to have died out because of this one being more complete, but there's still work to be done!

Here is the correct version of the Mining Facility Theme anyway for anyone looking for it: A350D345280F55EB7C429672BC295368_2.mp3 (http://www.mediafire.com/?7pwauhni71kxfi7)

Songs 366-373 are actually a separate soundtrack all together. It's the music CD that accompanies the game. Here's the specific information:

Album: The Legend of Zelda 25th Anniversary Soundtrack
Artist: Koji Kondo
Tracks: 8
Disks: 1

Hope that helps!!

Well, it's a mess sorting out all variations. There are several streamed songs with more than 2 channels. I thought the timeshift stone versions are always just playing all 4 streams at the same time.

But feel free to write down all errors still there. I was surprised the number of errors mentioned were so little anyway.

I just fixed Lake Floria/Faron Shrine. I use audacity for reducing the multi-streams to stereo, but audacity has a bug with streams that are not 44.1khz, and exporting to wave more than once.

Um slippyToad I was wondering about the sound quality, I mean does the quality get lowered once you download it? For example the song for the Stalfos sounds um not as good as the version I heard from GilvaSunner's version. Do you know anyway I can improve the quality?

Why is the link for an old version still available? And where could I find the newest version? And lastly, is it just typos that were fixed, or is there a difference in content as well such as more tracks or changed loop counts? I'm asking because I want to know if there is any point in re-downloading it.

I'm wondering this too. Also, I was right about Prime Blue, who doubts he'd be ripping this game, so it's good I came to you slippyToad! I knew you were the only person who could do as good of a job, and yet you still surpassed my expectations. Still, I'm wondering the same thing as The Dimensioner.

That link has more music in it than the thing I downloaded from here! Now I really want to know what's going on. Slippy only has one link in his starting post, and it goes to a file that only has 300 tracks. I thought it was weird that the end of the soundtrack would end with a final boss fight and that no credits music or epilogue music would be in the game. Seriously, where can I get Slippy's version with all the tracks included as well as corrections made?

ZU sucks as a website. I have my favorites list, and they come and go from it all the time. You see, they're a cool site, but they do dumb shit. Also, I prefer music and playing zelda games, as opposed to talking about them, so I care not for their forums. These forums are over 900 times better.

On-Topic:

I noticed severe clipping in track 71. Initially recording the track with a lower input volume will fix this.

I don't care so many websites copy it. It's also on youtube everywhere.

As I already said to you in a private message, track 71 is directly ripped from the game disc, so no recording was ever done. Still I just did a check. Weird, the mp3 version is having it's maximum at -0.16db, I always encode after maximizing the sound to 90% maximum(-0,91db) to have a consistent volume. The flac is correct in volume(and the mp3 is encoded from the flac).

Yes, sorry I didn't edit that out of my post. What's weird is that the mp3s and flacs play fine, yet when I try to convert them to 512 kbps M4A, tracks 24, 128, 149, 154, 190, 192, 374, and 382 won't play in my DSi (but will in foobar2000). I'm pretty sure that can't be fixed, as it would be hard enough just to find a source of the problem, which isn't even a major problem. It's just got me curious. I do know that all of those tracks are either short or streamed. Transcoding from the mp3s fixes the problem.

hm, I see flac5.rar is downloaded twice as much as the other flac downloads. And when I tried to download, it stopped after downloading 256kb and again after 50mb. Seems you have to be lucky downloading it, so I'll reupload these and see if it helps

Hey slippyToad, thanks for all your work on this great soundtrack!

If you feel you'll want to update it in the future, I've got some tips and files that may be able to help you. I wrote a program to rip ALL the rwav files from the game, not just the ones ripping_mama catches, and can easily zero-out any sound effects, MIDI instruments, and/or brstm music, so it'd be possible to isolate specific in-game tunes without any background noise.

Also I noticed that tracks 25 and 83 are doubles. They're also examples of tunes that could do without the background music...

I'm not meaning to complain one bit, I love having all this music at my disposal, but yeah, I was going to rip / record some sound effects (including musical sounds) and wondered if you wanted my resources. I'll PM with more info if you're interested.

Cheers!

well i use already tools to mute non-music RSEQ's(a homemade program i never published) and use vgmtoolbox to rip all rwav and rwsd(even though many rwsd don't play in vgmstream, because they can contain more than one song). Almost no sound effect is played without RSEQ.
I can even hex edit RSEQ's to mute single channels(the channel select is same as the SSEQ's found on the DS) or use homemade gecko codes to hang the game while the music is still playing.

Didn't notice 25 & 83 were the same. Always thought there were 2 solution fanfares and a fanfare for getting a collectible. Never compared them together.

I still have to double check anyway for the multi-streams. Distinguishing these is a pain. If you are bothered to record these small fanfares without SFX, be my guest. I only add them for completeness sake and was not bothered to record them without SFX. I'll even change them with your recordings in the soundtrack, if you provide a lossless recording.

Skyward Sword was a pain to record the sequenced songs, because the game seems to add note on events outside the RSEQ, while still using a note off event in the RSEQ making the game play hanging notes/ambient sfx all the time when muting all RSEQ's. Good thing is that there were barely sequenced songs and the ones I could find were doable. There was a hanging note of ambient sound in the lizalfos battle song, but i could get rid of it with sound editing.

Wow, Major kudos on you for doing this!

Thank you so much! I don't know why Nintendo doesn't have at least a digital Download of their music, especially if they make the effort to orchestrate all of the music.
Doesn't make very much sense to me, especially if they use composers who are melodic geniuses most of the time.

Anyway, amazing work slippyToad, truly a wonderful job. :D

Question for Slippy (or actually anyone else who can help me with this):

I just finished the game last night (amazing!). I've been listening to the entire rip as I played through the game. One question I have, and this is probably just my bad memory, but track 336 "Link Plays the Harp" sounds eerily similar to this: Legend of Zelda Skyward Sword - Zelda fully playing the harp in realtime - YouTube (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ce5yTRSwqHE)

So which cutscene did track 336 actually come from?

Also, the ID3v1 and ID3V2 track numbers are different for the last 90 tracks or so. Any reason behind that?

It's the cutscene after beating Demise where Link plays the harp.

don't know why the ID3v1 and ID3v2 are different, could be the program I use to tag them didn't update ID3V1 besides ID3V2 when I removed a duplicate track.

Same here, very appreciative! I hope you don't mind another hopefully-not-too-dumb question. I started Hero mode now and again am listening to your rip, this time make sure I can match the tracks to what I'm hearing in the game. However, I don't recall hearing these two tracks in between the time I got the goddess sword and getting over to Faron Woods (which is when they occur in your rip).

58 Goddess Shrine 3:03

Are they from certain areas of Skyloft that I missed?

Thanks again

Although there are several short vignettes (completing a Heart Piece, obtaining an item, etc) I can't find the sound made when you strike a Goddess Cube. Is this not in the soundtrack, or was it missed?

I love this rip although I must say there are 2 more variations of the Lizalfos music if you have the time to add them.
The third is when the double drumming goes faster and the final variation is when the double drumming plays even faster.

Same with the normal battle variation, there are atleast 2 more variations with the same drums as the lizalfos ones.
I know because I heard it when playing just 2 days ago :)

Mediafire is still online and working, and also up to date. It's pointing to a folder containg FLAC and MP3 versions, compressed and uncompressed. While the main folders were created a year ago, the contained files were just uploaded a month ago.

I'll also take this opportunity to inform people who care about tagging that "Shiho Fujii (http://vgmdb.net/artist/8996)" is mistagged as "Shibo Fujii" (this typo seems to be quite common around the internet). This shouldn't require a reupload, as it's a simple fix everyone can do for themselves. A note about it in the first post would be good though.

Thanks for your hard work on this rip, and also for keeping it updated!

Thanks for your hard work on this rip, and also for keeping it updated!Thank's for your remark. Googling Shiho Fujii results in more results than googling Shibo Fujii.
Problem with Japanese names is that they are often written phonetically from the japanese characters In fact even game credits sometimes seem to be different in different games.

Then again, i did spell Shiho Fujii in my wii fit gamerip.

Hey, apparently...
From what I know, the Normal Battle theme stinger in SS is the only track not ripped and included in any rip.

In SS I recall the battle stinger plays in Skyview Temple after you obtain the Beetle and when you kill the Skulltula at the end of the next corridor you are to go to.
Would it be possible that you could rip this song and just UL it separately (so you wouldn't have to re-up anything)?

Finally listened to it! Amazing work OP! Thank you. :)

May I ask, however, why is the rate 32 kHz? Is that how it is ingame?

Why are all the tracks named so redundantly?

001 - Hajime Wakai; Shibo Fujii, Mahito Yokota; Takeshi Hama; Koji Kondo - Channel Intro
002 - Hajime Wakai; Shibo Fujii, Mahito Yokota; Takeshi Hama; Koji Kondo - Intro
003 - Hajime Wakai; Shibo Fujii, Mahito Yokota; Takeshi Hama; Koji Kondo - File Select

Dear god, please fix this. At least put the track name after the track number, not at the very end.

Hey slippy? any plans to do Breath of the wild? Crediar ripped the files and they've been posted elsewhere on this site, but they're all broken into 10 second pieces.
