Chrono Trigger, Chrono Cross, Xenogears…some awesome soundtracks right there. How are the soundtracks for Xenosaga Episode I, Shadow Hearts and Shadow Hearts: Covenant? Is it worth playing these games for the soundtrack?

IMO the shadow hearts stuff is cool, but the Hirota stuff is better than mitsuda’s work (and I love YM’s work).

IMO Shadow hearts OST has a handfull of good tracks, the tracks fit it nicely with the setting and atmosphere of the game. Playing just for the soundtrack though? uhh go for it, as for shadow hearts 2, i found the soundtrack and game overall under expectations.

Xenosaga Episode I probably has the highest quality sound track I’ve ever heard in a video game. Too bad there is very rarely any in-game BGMs and only one battle theme for every battle (excluding the final boss).
