In the official FFVIII guidebook it says that it can only heal itself a certain # of times. My Quezacotl instantly makes it need to heal itself:D , Yet it just keeps on healing!

Anyone know how many times it can heal itself?

I’m pretty sure that GF’s can keep rehealing themselves as you travel around, I dont think that they stop after a certain amount of time, still I could be wrong.

Edit: Ohh, I understand now, you mean the spider robot ( I got a bit confused) anyways, im pretty sure that it can cure itself as many times as it needs to, even if it cant then it would take longer than the half hour time limit you have to get back to the beach to be able to attack it enough times that it can’t cure anymore then kill it.

I don’t think he meant GF’s, DM, but the monster you gotta fight when you flee from Dollet ^_^;

I don’t think it only can heal a certain amount of times. Besides, the times you fight it are predetermined. 🙂

Huh? But the official guidebook says
It is possible to defeat X-ATM092 as it can only resort to self-repair a limited number of times.
It also says,
Down at the beach, Quistis will destroy X-ATM092 with an MG salvo if you have not already defeated the monster.

O Well You only have to fight it 1 time. At the very start just knock it out then run. When you go down the hill if you walk you won’t fight it. When you get to the bridge, you can kill it. Just fight it and keep on nailing the machine untill its dead. If you run from it again Quistis will then kill it.

””’When you get to the bridge, you can kill it.””’

You can kill it anytime after the first battle, actually factually; you don’t have to wait till you get to the bridge.

Really? I didn’t know this. This can really come in handy if I ever start a new game. Save myself some time on getting 50AP’s.^^

Yup, it works. 50AP, but no exp:mad:

The guide says no items are dropped, but I got an item that teaches a GF an extra ability:lol:

Yeah, I’ve always had it drop an item that teaches a ___+40% ability.

Yeah, well, the guide is wrong a lot of the times. Remember that it is also written by people, not god.:D Still, I think guides are useful, but you should never trust them 100%. Sometimes it’s better that you explore the game for yourself.

it can be done, ive done it on the first fight. u need to be at a high level, and just use ur strongest thunder attacks like quez. speed is the main thing. X-ATM heals like regen and not cure, so speed is essential. u wont believe wot u get for beating him…

Hmmm….well that’s just odd. I went at it with Selphie calling a Lv.100 Quezacotl, while Squall and Zell (both with high Strength, and Zell had Thundaga on Elemental Attack..Squall might have, I don’t remember for sure), and I just couldn’t kill it on the first encounter….. O_o
