The CD’s are from my personal collection and they are ripped using EZ-CD Audio Ripper.

Good to know that we have in Europe great composers like Puccini, Rossini, Verdi, Gounod, Wagner, Mozart, Strauss (Oscar, Richard, Johann) and many others …
But let’s no forget that Gershwin composed another great opera, "Porgy and Bess" and Mister Herrmann "The Wuthering Heights".
Don’t tell it to anybody … I do prefer musicals from the golden age of Hollywood and the unforgettable music coming from the USA (Jerome Kern, Cole Porter, Rodgers and Hart, Rodgers and Hammerstein, Irving Berlin …) 😀

Many thanks Daniel for sharing Herrmann’s only opera. It’s a pity he never saw it staged. It’s recognisably Herrmann and I seem to hear some of his film music in it. I don’t normally like opera but because it’s Herrmann I’ve been listening to this in the car and it’s great.

I hope everything is alright, as I see that a lot of your other threads have been stopped. Sorry to see that, as you were always pointing the way to quality 40’s and 50’s nostalgic OST’s that were filling a void that no-one else could.
