As of today, there are no plans to take it to the PC as far as I know. The FF series belongs on consoles, first and foremost. The PC version of VII was utter crap anyway.

It was crap on the PSX aswell, so it makes no difference.

Apart from FFVII and FFVIII no Final Fantasy has apeard for the PC, and very likely it’ll never will. FF will only be released on consoles and handhelds.

(I’m not taking into account emulators).

FFVII is poor quality on the PC. The graphics are poor in half screen mode, the motorbike minigame runs at about 3 times the speed it should, and apparently there are bugs that cause it to not function on Windows XP, although I haven’t encountered any yet.

FFVIII is better, but a PS2 FF game on the PC wouldn’t work due to the amount of memory it would need to store such a graphically advanced game.

I would like to see FFIX on the PC, since my PS2 no longer plays PS1 games and my PS1 is knackered. And FFIX is a brilliant game.

Actually, I think silver rose was referring to PlayOnline for FFIX.

Just to explain, that was one of my few gripes with FFIX. The official strategy guide wasn’t that useful, but instead had loads of links to the PlayOnline website, essentially forcing players to use it if they wanted a crack at the game’s best stuff.

No doubt Square made plenty of money in advertising profits there
