Fans of every game series make fun of other game series, but also other games in the series they enjoy (Zelda: Link to the Past, Ocarina of Time etc etc). It’s all down to personal opinion as what FIGHT SMACK IN THE ORPHANAGE eluded to.

When it comes to jRPGs, you can’t really beat the SMT series. You know, since they’re at least somewhat role playing games rather than adventure games with levels.
