Irvine and Kiros, but even they weren’t terribly difficult to obtain.

I never bothered going after the cards. Triple Triad was sort of difficult for me. It gets on my nerves. =/

Laguna — trying to get it from Ellone on the space station. Definitely troublesome at times.

Marlboros were always a pain in the ass to get I find.

PuPu. I was excellent at Triple Triad since it didn’t have that ZOMG HEXIDECIMAL UPGRADE and LOLZ HIDDEN VARIABLE bullshit Tetra Master had. It was just math – easy to understand, and easy to execute. I won all of the cards easily, but the damned PuPu that you have to follow around the entire world in order to obtain gave me a headache.

Hmmm I was sorta being half sarcastic when I wrote that…. buuuuuuut because Its actually quite difficult to turn it into a card in the um.. the ifrit cave and everybody I played against tended to have really high cards when I decided to collect them.
Also I am aware that you can get them quite easily in the Deling Sewers but I didn’t think about that at the time…
My point is that I just had issues with it.

Ive always had trouble gettin the Selphie card, only cause when you get to Trabia Garden, the Random rule is initiated…..that kinda sucks.
And recently, the quezecotle card, it took 2 hours to get because he wouldnt play the damn thing….ARRRRGGGH

I never found Selphie that hard to get tbh. I just refined all my shit cards as far as possible so when the random rule was initiated I didn get shit cards.

Quezacotl was kinda hard for me to get but only because it was part of the QOC quest and it took me forever to figure out how to do it.

Tbh I found it hard to get any card that was in an area with the random rule. By far the worst thing about the game.

I find Edea and Seifer cards quite hard. I think that’s the Random rule, I end up losing all my good cards.

I’d think the card’s you get from the queen of card’s quest is the hardest ones to get sadly I have not been able to get any of them I must suck at FFVIII’s card game:-(

There’s a lady in Balamb Town who stands next to the train station entrance, who if you beat (easy ;)) will reset the rules.

I honestly did not know that. That will help me out big time!

Isn’t that the Queen of Cards? The only rules she resets are the trading rules, not the playing rules and even that takes a bit of manipulation. Not sure who else you could be referring to.

Basically, you want to avoid spreading rules. You can even abolish rules — the only problem is in areas where you only have access to for a certain point.

I apologise in advance if I am very wrong, but there is something she can do to change the regional rules I am almost certain of it. I recall being up to the point of meeting the ‘real’ Edea, with Cid at the orphanage, and found myself losing to her more often than winning because of the ‘random’ rule, the trade rules were also messed up so that each takes the card that is left on your own corresponding colour. I had the rules brought back to normal with the Card Queens help. I’ve scouted the internet for somethign relative but have thus far found nothing. I did have the Piggyback official guide, so more than likely it could have come from that.
