What Was With Cid’s Wife? (Possible Spoilers)

I have not played this for a year or so, so I can not remember what is up with this. What was wrong with Cid’s wife? She was bad and evil and stuff, and then she is all good and nice. I was just wondering, (I have not played in a year, getting ready to play it again). I was wondering for the sake of knowing.

hmmm… it’s difficult (no, scratch that, tis downright bloody IMPOSSIBLE!) to answer that, without giving away half the twists and turns in the story… so I’m not gonna!… especially if you’re planning on re-playing the game.

And I’m also going to spoiler-tag the thread. But I ask that nobody else answer the question until Cnut22 makes it exactly clear on how much he does or doesn’t wanna be spoiled.
