we’re compiling a "hints, tips and tricks" section for FF VIII.

so post any interesting tricks that you may have stumbled across during the course of the game. we don’t want obvious things (like "save often!" or something along those lines).

they should be similar to the hints found here (http://www.ffshrine.org/ff9/ff9_tips.php).

you’ll be credited on the page once it’s done. please try to make them as professional as possible: proper spelling, grammar, etc. thanks!

no u.

Ok ok, umm…when fighting Omega Weapon, put Squall and Rinoa into Initiative and make Squall cast Aura on Selphie and Squall use a Holy War straight after. Then scroll through Selphie’s limits (make sure she has her final weapon on) and you’ll eventually find The End (if you don’t find it before Holy War wears off just use another Holy War or just start the fight again to try and find it) Once you use The End, you win. Enjoy.

See, I can pull anything out. I’d say more, but if others wanna say stuff, they can.

Hmm, this is sort of a "diehard" thing, but whenever you use one of Selphie’s special limits it gets added to her "list" that you can access from the menu. So try to get them all if you’re looking to complete as much as you can.

Here’s a fun one: When controlling Irvine to select the instruments for everyone for the concert, have him exit the screen and you can go off and do all sorts of fun stuff as Irvine and even have some unique conversations.

hey that’s awesome…i had no clue you could exit the scene~~~!

That’s my fave scene in the game btw…

here’s one:

when you first get control of the garden as a vehicle…move around to the southern continent. There is a small beach near the desert area with cactaurs. If you dock the garden there, and run through the small crack in the moutain you can get onto the desert failry early in the game and level up your GF like crazy.

i hope that makes sense

You mean Diablos right? Odin just sits and does nothing, regardless of what you do to him until the countdown hits 0.

Do the Odel Lake Quest. It adds a very bizarre twist to a game that Square tried so hard to make more realistic. Mr. Monkey indeed…
