The Way, Way Back: Music From The Motion Picture" is the soundtrack from the new film from writer/directors Nat Faxon and Jim Rash. The collection features a pair of songs written exclusively for the film by acclaimed singer-songwriter Edie Brickell. Among the songs also included on the soundtrack are Power Hungry Animals" from Nashville’s The Apache Relay and Alone" from Duluth, MN bluegrass band Trampled By Turtles, which both highlight poignant moments in the film. The collection also features Shine" from Chicago-based sibling duo Wild Belle, whose debut album " Isle" was released earlier this year, and includes classic songs from Mr. Mister, INxS and Robert Palmer alongside contemporary music from Ben Kweller and Army Navy. Nat Faxon and Jim Rash, co-writers of The Descendants," produced the soundtrack along with music supervisor Linda Cohen, and carefully chose a mix of older classics and more recent music that transcends genres.
