after talking about commander keen in the chat I was reminded of this game ;-;;

you’re a bounty hunter (I think) and you fly around and do random missions. you’re in a ship that looks like an x-wing but with two wings instead of four. you shoot red dots.

in the shareware version in one part you’re given a long, long flight but not enough HYPERSPACE fuel to make it to the destination. you can keep on playing if you want, but you need to make it there without hyperspace. I tried a few times. it took forever.

does anyone have any idea what this was called? ;-;;

It doesn’t ring a bell.

If you want old school space shooters though, you can’t go past Tyrian. Easily the best of the best.

I need a Windows XP version of that game or a good emulator. =\

it wasn’t Tyrian. it had more rpg elements. and it was in space, not flying over terrain. ;-;

Solar Winds …. I had it on my 386 …. the first episode ended with you finding out that their was force fields surrounding your space and that aliens were using you as test subjects … there was a jump hole to get out of the system you were in at the end out in the middle of nowhere and the episode ended with that in the shareware version.
