Well i just got to the golmore jungle for the first time thanks to my trusty guide book but now i have to find the viera village. when i get to the blue blockade thing its supposed to trigger and event but it doesnt and so far its the only one ive found. anyone know what im doin wrong?

You are in the wrong area go north there is another barrier. There are 2 barriers the one north that blocks the east path to Mt bur-omasice and the south path to Feywoods. You are probably at the south one.
